00:00He swung his arm about, and I'd got one cuff on, and not managed to get the other.
00:10He sort of erupted, didn't he?
00:12Yeah, we were still trying to move him out of the road,
00:15because obviously we were still in the road at this point.
00:17And then I can't even remember what happened,
00:19I just know that all three of us ended up in the bush.
00:22Who's making this? Who's making it?
00:34One of those times where you're like,
00:36I'd rather wait this out and have him sit on me for the whole time,
00:40than him get up, because he's on top of me,
00:42and start hitting us, or running away, or anything.
00:45So it was just a waiting game, waiting for the other unit.
00:48I can ruin your life right now.
00:50Stop! I've asked you to put your hands behind your back, OK?
00:53How long's your colleagues going to turn up for?
00:55I couldn't have done anything to you right now.
00:57It's a good job I'm picked.
00:59At different points, he is swinging for us,
01:02and elbowing us, and kicking us, and trying to hit out and punch us.
01:07Get on the floor now!
01:12Now!
01:13He's pushing my head into the ground at different points,
01:17and he said to me, there's one thing that really stuck out,
01:20and he said, don't talk to me like that.
01:22And the funny thing is, the whole thing, we're going, calm down.
01:26And it didn't work, obviously.
01:33He swung a punch at some point at me.
01:35Yeah.
01:36And then I had a mark that's scarred now on my face from the handcuff.
01:40Yeah, because obviously the one handcuff's gone, so it caught you, didn't it?
01:44Eventually, we got him onto this grass verge,
01:47and I managed to get my spray out,
01:49and then I said, I'm going to spray you if you don't calm down,
01:52and I've sprayed him in the face,
01:54and I've accidentally caught you in the fire,
01:56because there was no other option.
01:58I'm going to spray you. Spray! Spray!
02:00Spray, calm down!
02:02Which we couldn't have even done before right now.
02:04No, no.
02:05Because it was one of those where, if I pull my baton out,
02:08I'll pull my parver out, because he's above us,
02:10and he's got the advantage. It just wasn't worth the risk.
02:13And he was saying this, and he was saying this throughout, wasn't he?
02:15He was saying, God, your colleagues are taking a long time.
02:19How long are they going to take? I could have done anything to you by now.
02:23Yeah.
02:24And he was doing stuff to us, and I think, in my head, I thought,
02:27how am I getting out of this? Am I going home?
02:30And I think that's the tricky part.
02:32I think you sort of think, where are people?
02:35And you're desperate for people to come and help you.
02:37And we managed to get the handcuffs on properly behind his back.
02:40And he was still resisting on the floor?
02:42He was still resisting, still trying to get himself up,
02:45and I actually arrested him.
02:47And once we'd got him in the cuffs, I arrested him fully.
02:50I'm arresting you for assault, police.
02:52No.
02:53OK?
02:54No.
02:55And driving under the influence of alcohol.
02:56You're not getting away with that.
02:57You don't have to say anything.
02:58You're not getting away with that.
02:59You may hold your phone if you do not answer my question.
03:00You're not getting away with that.
03:01OK?
03:02Spit!
03:03Anything you do say may be given as evidence.
03:04In that car, I just never think so.
03:06OK?
03:07And I'm surprised I even got that out.
03:09Yeah.
03:10The words out of my mouth.
03:11I was exhausted.
03:12It's instinct, isn't it?
03:13Because he even got given aftercare after he'd been harboured.
03:16Yeah.
03:17And a spray does sting.
03:18It does.
03:19And, you know, I think the right process is to tell people to keep blinking
03:23and give them the aftercare.
03:25The dog eventually turned up, the dog handler,
03:28and he didn't care about the dog.
03:30He said, let the dog bite me.
03:32He didn't care.
03:33Why let a dog bite me?
03:35He's a big...
03:36Get off of me!
03:38It was just a sign of relief, I think.
03:40Yeah, that we can hear blues.
03:42They are close, you know.
03:44Someone's here.
