00:00Now, this is the conference out of all the big conferences.
00:06You don't have a major team at the top.
00:09That's a heavy favorite.
00:10Lots of chalk.
00:11That's a big time team.
00:12You got really a situation where I think you can make a case, Joe, for several teams in
00:17the Big 12 to win this thing this year.
00:20Utah's favorite, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Iowa State 9-1, UCF 9-1, Arizona slipped
00:26out a 14.
00:27I got a bad number on them now.
00:29Texas Tech at 16, your boy Joey Maguire, 22% of the bets.
00:33The most, though, of course, are on Colorado to win the conference.
00:38Yeah.
00:39Now, I agree with you.
00:40There's parity from start to finish, and everybody's looking at Utah right now as being that team
00:44to just dominate.
00:46I told you throughout the offseason, speed teams typically give the Utah defense some
00:51problems, and that's exactly what you have in terms of the Big 12.
00:55Everybody looking at Colorado, Utah.
00:57I know.
00:58I can't buy into it.
01:00Even Rocco Beckton, Iowa State, good teams, and Avery Johnson as well, and K-State.
01:05I took a shot, and this is not a Homer pick, Carver, but I actually believe that Joey Maguire
01:12and Texas Tech have an opportunity to make some noise at 18-1 now.
01:17They are in multiple areas, 18-1.
01:19They have 18 starters coming back.
01:21There were a 7-6 football team.
01:23They have one of the best running backs in Tom's Brooks that comes back.
01:27He challenged Ali Gordon in regards to the FBS leading record.
01:31He could catch the football out of the backfield.
01:33Brennan Morton was hurt for much of last year.
01:36That's why they stumbled down the stretch.
01:39And again, look at ballgames.
01:41He's 2-0 in ballgames and dominated Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss two years ago.
01:46They dominated last year in the ballgame.
01:48They have an opportunity.
01:49Look at the schedule.
01:50The ACU, which is Abilene Christian, Wash State, North Texas, Arizona State, Cincinnati,
01:57and Arizona to start the year, they could be 6-0.
02:01They could be 6-0 legitimately.
02:03I think they win it.
02:04I'm taking a shot.
02:05I like Texas Tech.
02:08Well, I'm not surprised by that, Joe.
02:10Of course, you're going to take a shot on Texas Tech at some point.
02:14Wait a second.
02:15I was on Oak State last year, so don't ask me over.
02:20You were.
02:21You were on them last year.
02:22I'm not going to bash you.
02:23I'm not going to do it.
02:24Here's all that I'll do.
02:25If I'm going to take deep shots here, like you're taking a deep shot here.
02:30If this Jalen Daniels can actually play, Joe, the whole year, and I don't mean what he did
02:36last year.
02:37Last year, he got pumped up, preseason Big 12 player, offensive player of the year, Kansas,
02:41Kansas, Kansas.
02:42Guy never played.
02:43Didn't play the whole entire season.
02:45If he actually plays in every game, I think they're going to be live at 9 to 1 right now
02:51to have a chance to win this conference, which would be a great feather in the cap, too,
02:55for your boy Double L there, Lance Leipold, as the job.
03:00I mean, listen, you talk about resurrecting Lawrence, Kansas, Joe.
03:03I mean, in football, that's absolutely ridiculous if you could pull that off.
03:08My other one is Arizona, and the reason why is they've got a lot of their team from last
03:14year back.
03:15I know when Fish ran off to the Pacific Northwest, he thought he was going to take everybody
03:20with him.
03:21That's not exactly what happened, Joe.
03:22In fact, the kids stayed, rallied around it, and now they've got a little chip on their
03:27shoulder with something to prove.
03:29So I think Arizona's a very good team.
03:31They've slipped in the past few weeks here with this number.
03:33It's gone from 10 to 12, now to 14, but I think that Arizona's a team that we're going
03:38to look at in that conference, too.
03:40No, hey, it's a great look.
03:43In regards to Noah Fafita, he's one of the most agile and athletic quarterbacks in the
03:48conference, and you can make the argument, and I've said this, too, that this conference
03:52from top to bottom might have the best quarterback play in all of college football.
03:56Daquan Finn comes over in terms of taking over from Toledo in Baylor.
04:02You have Rocco Beck, you have Shadur Sanders, you have Alan Bowman, Avery Johnson, and oh,
04:07by the way, KJ Jefferson in UCF.
04:10Keep an eye out for them.
04:11That's another team I'm high on.
04:13Why KJ Jefferson transferred from Arkansas, he's 6'4", 230, he can run it, he can throw
04:19it, and Gus Malzahn knows how to coach, right?
04:22First year in the conference, they got their feet wet.
04:25They were the only team in terms of the AAC that made it in regards to a bowl game.
04:30So keep an eye out for that.
04:31They have R.J. Harvey that transfers over, and Penny Boone as well from Toledo that averaged
04:37seven yards per carry.
04:39They don't play defense at UCF, but it might not matter if they catch you in the bouncehouse.
