00:00Today, we have a vet coming in because one of our alligators named Big Ray, he's got
00:06a vision problem we want to check out.
00:08Here's the problem.
00:09Big Ray is 13 foot one inch, weighs over 900 pounds.
00:13We've got to get him out of this breeder pond.
00:16There's at least 40 other alligators in that pond that are as big as him.
00:20It's an extremely dangerous situation for my staff.
00:23However, once we get him roped, it's going to be just as dangerous for Big Ray.
00:26Oh man, this is going to wear us out right here.
00:30Ray!
00:31He's over here in a corner by himself.
00:33If I can keep all the other ones away, I should be able to go right in there and rope him
00:37and slide him right out.
00:38Oh, this ain't good right over here.
00:41Ah!
00:42Ah, dang, look at the big ones right here, man.
00:44We've got to get through them first.
00:45Ray!
00:46We need all of them to move and go away.
00:49We're trying to make a distraction to pull him over to another side so we can go over
00:53there and we can get this 13 foot one inch alligator out of there.
00:57Good job.
00:59That's the one that chases.
01:00Within 20 foot of all of us, there's no less than 40 alligators.
01:04Now move these other two hammerheads and we'll be all right.
01:06Come on, Ray!
01:07Come on.
01:08Go get him, boy.
01:09Hey, y'all get ready.
01:10Come on, Ray!
01:11Y'all get ready to get in there with him.
01:14We've got to figure out how to get these other alligators off of us.
01:16Watch.
01:17Watch.
01:18Go right there.
01:19Get it deep.
01:20Get it deep.
01:21I'm focused on keeping this big alligator safe, so I'm focused on him and all these other
01:25alligators coming up.
01:26And at the same time, I have to watch all the staff.
01:29Let's go this way.
01:30Back up.
01:31I'm doing the blocking.
01:32Like, I'm the line of scrimmage here.
01:33I'm holding him back so he can make this shoot right across us.
01:35Hold what you got.
01:36Watch him.
01:37Pull, pull, pull, pull.
01:38Watch, watch, watch.
01:39Go!
01:40Yeah!
01:41Go!
01:42Go!
01:43Go!
01:44Back, back, back, back.
01:45Ha!
01:46Ha!
01:47Ooh, this is dangerous.
01:48Ollie and I have been in this situation several times together, but I will tell you, this
01:49is a pretty bad one.
01:50Hold on.
01:51Watch.
01:52Roll in.
01:53Don't let him get under.
01:54Don't let him get under.
01:55All right, everybody get on this tail rope.
01:56No!
01:57I can't see him.
01:58Watch these guys.
01:59I got you.
02:00I got you.
02:01Ah!
02:02Ah!
02:03Hold!
02:04Hold!
02:05Come on.
02:06Pull it!
02:07Yeah!
02:08That could've been bad really quick, especially for Big Ray.
02:09Oh, there's one on the ground.
02:10Once we get him out, then the clock starts ticking.
02:11Stop.
02:12You gotta be careful with these big alligators like this.
02:13They'll build up lactic acid.
02:14Oh, there's one on the ground once we get him out then the clock starts ticking
02:22Stop you got to be careful these big alligators like this. They'll build up lactic acid really quick
02:27What does that mean?
02:27That means they'll tire out and you really got to get them back rolled over upside right because this lactic acid if you let it
02:33Build up too long. It's fatal to an alligator. I'd like to get to the shade
02:37Sure
02:39Now get it easy buddy. Easy, buddy. Gotta give me quit doing that
02:43Look at what you tell
02:45Everybody here. I'm number need you here. All right, let the head go
02:50Let's go
02:54Y'all pull tail ready go go go push that rope underneath watch watch watch I see him I see him hold
03:00All they take him stay
03:02Stay it's not closed
03:04And he come tight while I'm holding this got him out in the heat we have to get this done quick
03:09We have to get him back in that pool
03:10Splash him cool him off hold him down keep him subdued so the doctor can check him out without hurting him. You just keep going
03:20There we go everybody sit on him get on him real quick kick those back feet up
03:27We've got dr. Weston he actually comes in and he'll check all these things for us. He is a wonderful reptile vet
03:33We don't know if we got an alligator here
03:35That's totally blind or is it just one bad eye or what's going on with you know, let's look at this one
03:40And then we'll get him turned
03:42That eyes missing. There's are you serious? Yeah that eyes collapsed
03:46Reaching in there. I can feel the stub where that eye was. It's it's collapsed. So there's no longer an eye in there
03:52Wow, I hate to ask you this guys, but can you flip him around the doc puts his hand in his eyeball socket?
03:59I'm like and he says it's not there
04:02His whole eye is not there. You know, it looks like he had a real bad corneal injury right here
04:09And I think he actually has some visual tissue up on that top and I think that's what he's seeing
04:13So I think he's seeing from like right here
04:15Okay, and that's why when you threw something out there when it got up to a certain height
04:20I noticed that he
04:22Up and and towards it so he can see out of that eye, but there's nothing you're gonna do for the bottom of it
04:28It's gonna be what it is. Yeah, now he was actually called as a nuisance and I see why now he's a nuisance
04:34Yeah, he needed people to feed him. Yeah, you don't want to feed gators in the wild
04:37They become habitual eyes to that easy meal. So people were feeding him out there
04:43He probably would have survived but not had a great life. Okay, that's it guys
04:47He's in the absolute best environment to keep him happy and healthy
