00:10It's Jack Flaherty making his fourth start in a Dodgers uniform.
00:14The Dodgers have won two of the three.
00:16Flaherty has earned two wins in his three outings for LA, but he's given up seven earned
00:21runs in his last two starts.
00:23If we're just taking a look at those analytical numbers over the past 60 days on the cards
00:27and I got 25 pitchers, minimum of 20 innings pitched over those 60 days, number two and
00:31number three on the card.
00:32They're pitching in this game going against each other.
00:34That's Logan Gilbert and Jack Flaherty.
00:36The XFIP numbers, 3.07 for Gilbert, Flaherty at a 3.20.
00:41So we're expecting them to keep it down, but really the focus isn't.
00:44Every day I look and it's like, wow, the Mariners have another solid pitching prospect on the
00:47mound today.
00:48Solid veteran guy, solid young guy.
00:50It doesn't matter.
00:51They just can't hit their way right now out of a paper bag and sometimes they'll bust
00:54out six or seven runs and next three to four games won't cross the three threshold.
00:59If you're going to tell me today, once again, I'm getting that same Mariners offense that
01:02we expect to see on a day-to-day basis where it's like, oh, hopefully we can put together
01:06three or four home runs to score runs.
01:08I don't understand that that's going to happen.
01:10Flaherty's a quality pitcher in a pitcher's ballpark against a team that struggles to
01:14hits.
01:15Don't you automatically just go to the Dodgers at this point as we had Mark Zinow on a little
01:18bit earlier?
01:19Just the trust level.
01:20And I understand you're not supposed to do this as a handicapper, but boy, oh boy, if
01:24let me just keep trusting the numbers and go back to the well with the Mariners against
01:27a solid pitcher.
01:28It hasn't worked out in their favor and I don't think it does again tonight.
