The police inspectorates report unveiled new findings on the Met Police.

00:00The Police Inspectorate has said that the Met Police is failing in almost all areas
00:06of its work. This comes as the force was assessed across nine areas and graded with requires
00:11improvement or inadequate in seven areas including in investigating and preventing crime. The
00:17Met has since said it was using every available resource to quote deliver more trust, less
00:22crime and high standards. Other factors which came to light in the police inspection included
00:28these factors. That the Met was inconsistent in managing sex offenders with a backlog of
00:34visits and risk assessment in some teams. That it has more work to do to make sure it
00:39consistently assesses the level of risk for all 999 and 101 calls when considering a response.
00:46That the force quote hasn't met its goal of reducing the number of outstanding suspects
00:51and that there were quote significant issues in the standards of investigation, victim
00:56care and investigation management in the Met's victim service. One thing the force
01:01was praised for was its use of stop and search.
