Transcript
00:00Hi guys, it's Mimi Webb and welcome to my mind massage.
00:16I'm going to take you on a sound journey using some of my favourite things.
00:28So we're going to look into my bag and see what's inside.
00:45So we're going to begin with my favourite lip dew glossy oil.
01:02I love how it opens, it's pretty cute.
01:04Honestly, I wish you guys could smell this, it literally smells incredible.
01:21So it's my favourite day to day lip oil and I also wear it when I just literally have
01:28like no makeup on because it just, it just glows really lovely.
01:32So that's my first product.
01:39Also got my keys.
01:50Yeah, I actually do that a lot day to day because it's quite a key sound.
01:54So yeah, got my cute Singapore Pure Love key chain on here with my car keys.
02:07And my key to my house, you can't have that.
02:16I always make sure I have a hairbrush in my bag because
02:20this girl's hair gets really knotted very fast.
02:24It's quite a nice sound.
02:41There's a lot of hair in it, I need to sort that out.
02:43But yeah, that's how it sounds.
02:49I always have to make sure I have some sort of necklace in my bag or something like accessories
02:54in case I need to jazz up an outfit.
03:07This is one of my favourite necklaces.
03:12So yeah, I have to always have something in my bag in case I should probably be wearing
03:15it right now.
03:16But yeah, I forgot about it so I'll put it on later.
03:20But this is it, it sounds really nice.
03:25What else have we got in my bag?
03:27We've got my phone.
03:29And I like to, I do this a lot actually when I'm bored but I'll just start doing this on
03:33the phone.
03:40And I annoy so many people when I do it because I just don't stop doing it.
03:46So that's me whenever I'm in an airport waiting to get on the plane.
03:51That's my phone.
03:53What else have we got?
03:56Oh, we've got some money.
03:59I never ever have cashmere in America.
04:02You need it.
04:11So nice.
04:16I think what else do I have?
04:19Another lipgloss.
04:21Constantly having lipgloss in my bag.
04:23This is actually a really good sound.
04:30Perfect, exactly what we wanted.
04:33And that is my favourite Dior lipstick, lipgloss.
04:39That is what's in my bag.
04:41So I grew up in a place called Canterbury in Kent.
04:45And I, that was like my place me and my friends would go every day.
04:52Like after school we'd just go into town and go to McDonald's and meet everyone from our
04:59other schools.
05:02I loved it there so much.
05:05But yeah, it was just such a lovely childhood growing up there.
05:08We also used to go to a place called Winsterpool and eat fish and chips on the beach and go
05:14and like have barbecues on the beach every night.
05:18And then we'd all go back to my parents' place for like a party.
05:22So we had the best times.
05:23We were like 16.
05:25This was when it like we really started doing our summer kind of every day.
05:29Like there was like 20 of us in Winsterpool.
05:32Yeah, big, big annual vibes.
05:36And yeah, I feel like it's kept me so, I think being able to have your friends and family
05:42around you growing up and in general, it's just so amazing to still have them around
05:48and it keeps you really grounded.
05:50So I'm so grateful to have grown up in where we did and have the friends that I have.
05:59But I think it just really made me more like eager to become an artist because I didn't
06:06want to be stuck in Canterbury forever.
06:09So I had to make sure I could, you know, fly the nest.
06:13And I think everyone was so, we were all so inspired to one day move to a big city.
06:20So it was really, it really pushed me to work as hard as I could.
06:26I started making music, gosh, since I was probably like 12 where I'd like write things
06:33down in my little diary.
06:35And I always just had like little ideas.
06:39I didn't even think were ideas.
06:40It was just my feelings and emotions.
06:43And I've kept my diaries forever.
06:45I have like six of them from growing up.
06:48My mum has them, my mum and dad at home.
06:51And it's so cool to kind of see how I was always really emotional, like writing things
06:57down was always an emotional outlet for me.
07:00Um, so yeah, I think that was, that was just like part of, part of who I was.
07:08And then I think when I got to like 16, that's when I could really focus on how to write
07:13a song and structure it.
07:18My new single Mistake is a very different song to the rest of the songs I've released.
07:25It was crazy because I kind of, I was going into my new era of where I wanted to see myself
07:32going.
07:32And I got in the studio end of last year in LA and I just couldn't believe I was like
07:38really getting, you know, coming to LA and really enjoying the writing process.
07:43And Mistake came along the first day I wrote it with Ryan Tedder, which was so cool.
07:50And, um, I just couldn't believe like the song was so different, but it felt so right.
07:56Um, so yeah, it's a little bit more heavy, a bit of a D&B, jungle beat inspiration there,
08:01but I love it so much.
08:03And it was so cool to step into a whole new era and a whole new like meme web, which I
08:10never thought really existed.
08:13And the creative idea behind it, I wanted to recreate a look that I'd done from a few
08:18years ago.
08:19I feel like it was a little bit more darker, a bit grungier, but like in a cool, cool way.
08:26And I wanted to bring that, that feeling into it and becoming like, I feel like I'm becoming
08:32a woman now.
08:33So I wanted to really feel confident and I wanted that to come across in, in all the
08:38creative aspects that we were doing.
08:40So it was so fun to really dive into that and just start the new, the new era and the
08:45new chapter off to a, to a, to a big, big start.
09:03So I'm going to make myself a little drink, um, with some ice.
09:08I'm just going to go for like four ice cubes because I don't want too much.
09:25Stunning.
09:30We are, I feel like now summer's coming like, oh wait, let me show you this.
09:38Wow.
09:44I feel like summer's coming now.
09:46So I always need to have like an ice cold drink and I don't really normally drink fizzy
09:51drinks, but this one's allowed.
09:55Just lots of different things going on in there.
10:14I'm a summer baby, so my birthday's in July.
10:18So I feel like the sun is part of me as a Leo as well.
10:23So this just makes me feel like I'm in central pay right now.
10:31Oh, lovely.
10:35I think everyone's going to want to get some fizzy drinks down them now.
10:42Sometimes I'm that like really strange drinker that seems really loud.
10:47I just actually, I actually really enjoy doing it.
10:50I'm so excited for this summer and the festivals we're going to do because I feel like now
10:57I'm slipping into this new era and this new chapter.
11:01It just feels so much better and cooler and bigger than ever.
11:05And I think the shows are just going to feel so much stronger.
11:09So I'm so excited and to be able to come to America and do festivals as well this year
11:15is crazy to me because I'm like a little pop girl, British pop girl.
11:21It's quite crazy that I'm coming over here to do that.
11:24I can't wait.
11:25Touring with Benson Boone has been so great so far.
11:29We have had so much fun.
11:32All the team are amazing.
11:34Benson's so great and the fans have been amazing.
11:38And I've been so grateful to have such an amazing response from them all.
11:42Um, I've loved seeing different cities and states and getting to know how America works
11:51even more.
11:51So it's been so cool.
11:53Um, but yeah, and I've got my mum.
11:55My mum came with me for a lot of the tours.
11:58So it was really nice to experience a lot of it with her.
12:12Okay, we've got some apples here that I'm going to begin to cut.
12:24When I was young, I would always sit and wait for my mum to cut my apples up.
12:33It's pretty tough to do.
12:34I probably haven't done this correctly.
12:36But yeah, I'm doing it as I would cut an onion, which really doesn't work.
12:42So we're going to just get in there.
12:47I've definitely done this wrong.
12:48But you know, it still looks pretty.
12:52And we're going to go in the middle.
12:57Perfect.
12:59I've definitely done this wrong.
13:00But yeah, sorry whoever needs to eat this after.
13:05Um, we're just going to go down there.
13:08Oh, that's not too bad that part.
13:12Little cute sound.
13:19Um, yeah, and I would always wait for her to cut my apples up.
13:23And then me and my brother would argue about who's getting the first apple.
13:26But he's not here this time.
13:31And I mean, I definitely have cut this up like an onion.
13:35But I haven't actually done this for a long time with an apple.
13:42Um, I'm just going to cut a little bit for me to eat.
13:54Oh, if I could eat one food for the rest of my life,
13:58it would probably be pasta, spaghetti bolognese.
14:01All my friends know that I am amazing at cooking spag bol, which we call it in the UK.
14:07Um, and it's actually a really good apple.
14:14Yeah, that would be my go-to meal.
14:16I love pasta.
14:17I think I'm like, I'm like meant to be living in Italy, if I'm honest.
14:27If I was stranded on an island on my own,
14:31brother, I would definitely bring my guitar, my dog.
14:46And what else would I bring?
14:52Come on, Amelia.
14:54Um, probably a bottle of rose.
15:06I'm really excited for my fans to see this new chapter that we're stepping into now,
15:11and the whole creative idea behind it.
15:14And just everything with the new music and how it's sounding.
15:18I think everyone's going to be so excited and kind of surprised,
15:22but in a really good way with how it's sounding.
15:26And yeah, I'm just super excited to grow with my fans and for them to grow with me.
15:32My best self-love advice would be to put the work into yourself,
15:39into the things you need to work on,
15:41and the things you need to experience and learn,
15:45and enjoy that time with yourself and being independent
15:50and having that alone time and enjoying it.
15:52I think it's the biggest challenge of them all.
15:55So yeah, get into that kind of routine and you'll be happier than ever.
16:04Thank you so much for coming to my mind massage.
16:08And please go check out my new single, Mistake, out now.
16:14Beautiful.
16:15That was great.
16:17Thank you so much.
16:20Bye.
