00:00Matthew chapter number 8 and verse number 23.
00:07The Bible says, and when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
00:14And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea,
00:17insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.
00:23And his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us, we perish.
00:30And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?
00:34Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
00:40But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
00:49The title of my sermon this morning is out of verse number 27.
00:53I like to preach just for a few minutes on the subject, what manner of man is this?
00:58What manner of man is this?
01:00Let's have a word of prayer.
01:02We'll get right into the message.
01:05Father in heaven, again, we are so thankful this morning,
01:07just to be able to come into your presence and to be able to worship.
01:10I thank you again for every person that took the time this morning to come to the house of God,
01:16just because they wanted something from heaven.
01:18And I pray, Lord, that you give us something from heaven this morning, God,
01:21that would challenge us, that would change our lives.
01:25I pray more than anything that we would see Jesus today for who he is.
01:29And Lord, we're going to thank you for what you're going to do in Jesus' name.
01:34Amen.
01:35What manner of man is this?
01:38You see, in Matthew chapter number 8, we see where Jesus entered into a boat with his disciples.
01:46And we find in this chapter, when they had gotten away from the shore,
01:51they encountered a very fierce storm.
01:57The storm was so fierce that the sky had become dark.
02:02The storm was so fierce that the winds had began to howl.
02:07The storm was so fierce that the waves of the sea started to beat against the boat,
02:13causing the boat to lose control and be swayed at the will of the sea.
02:20The storm was so fierce that Jesus' disciples did everything in their power to save themselves.
02:29But at the end of it all, they found out that they were powerless
02:34against the will of the wind and the waves and the storm.
02:40You know, that reminds us this morning of a lot of people who we encounter in this life.
02:47There's a lot of people in the world of today that choose to live their lives on their own.
02:53They choose to live their lives without God, and they make every attempt at saving themselves,
03:00only to find out later on that they are no match for the storms that come in this life.
03:09But after the disciples here had done everything that they could do to save themselves,
03:17they turned to Jesus and woke him out of his sleep and said, Lord, save us. We perish.
03:27What a tremendous prayer. What a tremendous prayer for someone to pray, Lord, save us.
03:36You see, if a lost man or a woman will simply see Jesus for who he is,
03:42and if a lost man or a woman will simply fall on their face before Jesus Christ
03:49and say, Lord, save me, I'm perishing. At that very instant, Jesus will respond and save that man
03:58or woman from their sins and give them a home in heaven. Boy, that's the wonderful grace of God.
04:07But we find in this story this morning that when his disciples woke him up, they said,
04:11Lord, save us. We perish. Before Jesus did that, he answered them and he said,
04:20why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Now, when the winds and the waves were howling,
04:30when the sky was black, and the boat was being tossed to and fro all over the sea,
04:39it comes to reason that the disciples might have had a reason to be fearful.
04:49But yet Jesus asked them a question. He said, why are you fearful, O ye of little faith?
04:55Do you know why he asked them that question?
05:04Jesus asked them that question because as long as he was in the boat with them,
05:10the winds and the waves and the storm had no power over them. And that was what they didn't
05:16understand when they were in the midst of a storm. They forgot about the one that was in
05:23the boat with them, amen? Now, look, the storm at that time could threaten them.
05:29The storm could intimidate them, and I'm sure that it did. The storm could make a lot of noise.
05:37But as long as Jesus was in the boat with them, the storm had no power over them.
05:46And that's a great lesson to us this morning that are here today because a lot of times in life,
05:52we forget that great truth. Listen, if you've come to faith in Jesus Christ and he's with you
05:59in this journey that we call life, listen, in this life, you and I are going to face some storms.
06:08And these storms that you and I face, they're going to be intimidating.
06:12Listen, these storms that you and I face, they're going to be threatening.
06:17Listen, they're going to make a lot of noise. But if Jesus is with you,
06:25the storms that lie no matter how threatening or intimidating they are have no power over you.
06:35And a lot of times we tend to get stressed out over the threatening of the storm
06:41when we should be focusing on the one who has the power over the storm. Amen.
06:50But then in an instance, Jesus stood up in that boat and he rebuked the winds and the waves,
06:58and he simply said the words, peace be still. And immediately the Bible says the winds and
07:05the waves ceased and watch this. There was a great call.
07:12I remember how my life was before I got saved. Listen, I can relate this morning. I think that
07:20most of us here can probably relate this morning to how life was before you met Jesus. We were all
07:26like a boat that's just tossed to and fro all over the ocean. Listen, nothing but chaos,
07:32nothing but tribulation and trouble, tossed to and fro at the whip of the storm.
07:41But the very day that I knelt and bowed my head and asked Jesus to save me, I prayed a prayer
07:48similar to that. I prayed and said, Lord, save me. I'm perishing. That very day, there was a great
07:56call. This morning, if you've experienced the grace of God, you know exactly what I'm talking
08:02about. The day that you fell on your face before Jesus that said, Lord, save me, I'm perishing.
08:08Immediately the storm went away and there was a great call that came into your life.
08:15You see, that's what Jesus can do for you this morning. Now, this morning,
08:22your life might resemble that ship in Matthew chapter number eight.
08:27This morning, as you look at your life, you'd be honest and say, Preacher, I feel
08:30exactly the way they did in Matthew chapter number eight. The winds and the waves are raging.
08:35Listen, the storm this morning doesn't provide you any peace. It doesn't provide you any security,
08:40any comfort. This morning, you might be here. You might say, Preacher, what am I supposed to do?
08:46What can I do to get victory in the time of my storm? I'll show you what you can do. You can
08:51call upon the Lord and pray that simple prayer and say, Lord, save me, I'm perishing.
08:57And in an instance, that's exactly what he'll do.
09:03But then after all of this is done, the Bible says that the disciples marvel. Did you notice that?
09:10After Jesus stood up, rebuked the winds and the waves, the disciples marveled.
09:17What does the word marvel mean? Well, it means that they sat there and they wondered in great
09:23astonishment. They couldn't believe what they had just seen. They were trying to comprehend
09:32what had just happened. They sat there and they marveled. Then they looked at each other and they
09:40said, what manner of man is this that even the winds and the sea obey his voice?
09:49And that's what I want to preach on for the next few minutes this morning is simply the title,
09:54what manner of man is this? When we think about Jesus this morning, what manner of man is this?
10:03Well, number one, when we think about Jesus this morning, we see number one, that Jesus
10:08is a man. He is a man. Look at verse number 27. In verse number 27, the Bible says,
10:16but the men marveled saying, watch this, what manner of man is this?
10:24You see, up until this point, we find in the scripture that Jesus ate with his disciples.
10:30He taught his disciples. He fellowshiped with his disciples. And when we're looking at this story,
10:37we find out that Jesus was even asleep in the company or the presence of his disciples.
10:44So, as we look at the life of Jesus, we find pretty much almost in every category where Jesus
10:51had all the attributes of a man. We find in Jesus's life that he was captive like a man,
11:00yet he was without sin. We find that Jesus was wounded like a man. He was bruised like a man.
11:08He was betrayed like a man. And he even wept like a man. We find that Jesus hungered like a man.
11:17We find that Jesus even became angry like a man. And in one instance,
11:21he took a whip and ran the money changers out of the temple.
11:24We find in the scripture that Jesus started as a man when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
11:31And he even died as a man when he died on the cross. But he did not stay dead as a man would
11:38stay. He rose again from the dead, which shows us right there that he's not only the son of man,
11:46that he's not only the son of man, he's also the son of God.
11:53And I believe this morning that up to this point, the disciples, when they viewed Jesus,
12:03they viewed him as a man. I mean, they looked at him as a great man, no doubt about that.
12:11They looked at him as a mighty teacher. They may have even looked at him at that time as the Messiah
12:17of Israel. But they sat there in the boat, Miss Connie, and they marveled because if Jesus was
12:26just a man, then how did he have the authority to stand up and rebuke the winds and the waves
12:35and cause the storm immediately to cease?
12:41You see, that prompted them to ask the question among themselves, what manner of man is this?
12:50Can I ask you a question this morning?
12:54When we talk about the Lord Jesus Christ, who is Jesus to you?
13:01This morning, is Jesus just a man that lived and died?
13:06This morning, is Jesus simply somebody that you might have read about or heard about?
13:12When you think about Jesus this morning, who is Jesus to you?
13:19You see, number one, we see here that Jesus is a man.
13:23Jesus is a man.
13:28But number two, in this same scripture, we see that not only is Jesus a man, but number two,
13:35we see that Jesus is much more than a man. Look again at verse number 27, but the men marveled,
13:43saying, what manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
13:53Now again, I want you to notice the fact that they marveled. That was puzzling to them.
14:02Have you ever seen something and you said, man, I can't believe I saw it?
14:07Well, that's how the disciples were. They sat there and they couldn't believe what they had
14:11just seen. They asked Jesus to save them, but maybe they didn't expect him to have the power
14:18to save them. They cried to him in their hours of desperation,
14:26and he didn't tell them, oh, guys, I'm sorry, but I don't have the power to do that great good
14:30thing. He didn't say that. He stood up in complete authority, and he looked at the winds and the
14:38waves, and he rebuked them and said, keep me still. And immediately, the winds and the waves listened.
14:48You see, they marveled. They wondered with great astonishment as to what manner of man this was,
14:56that even the winds and the waves obeyed his voice. I believe this morning that it was at
15:03this point right here when his disciples started to understand that Jesus was much more than just
15:11a man. Listen, Jesus this morning is much more than a good man who lived a good life and did a
15:19lot of good deeds for the people. Listen, Jesus is not the same way that the Mormon church presents
15:26him to be. You know, Mormonism claims that Jesus was a man who became a God, but if that is to be
15:32true this morning, Miss Diane, how could Jesus as a man stand up and rebuke the winds and the waves
15:38and cause the sea to calm? If he was just a man and he wasn't God, he could have never had that
15:45authority. But you see, Jesus was not a man who became a God. He is the eternal God that became a
15:54man. So when we look at Jesus and we consider what manner of man is this, we have to understand
16:02because of what he had done and the authority that he had. Listen, he was much more than a
16:07man. He also is the son of God. And when his disciples marveled, they started questioning
16:21how can a mortal man do the things that Jesus is doing. Now I want to give you something this
16:29morning that you may have never thought about, but as Jesus walked on this earth,
16:36do you know this morning that there were many times in his life, in his ministry,
16:42that when he had gotten done, the people marveled at what they had seen.
16:50I think about Matthew chapter number eight, when Jesus healed the man who was sick of the palsy.
16:57If you can remember the story before he ever healed the man that was sick of the palsy,
17:02he looked at the man and said, son, my sins are forgiven. The Pharisees at that time marveled.
17:10There it is. They sat there with great astonishment and wonder, how can this man
17:15forget sins? Jesus looked at him with a smile on his face. He said, well, is it easier to say this
17:22man's sins are forgiven or to say, rise up and walk? And then he looked at the same man and said,
17:29rise and walk, take up your bed. The man got up, picked up his bed and he went home.
17:38Here's what the Bible says in Matthew nine and verse number eight, when the mortals who saw it,
17:44lost it, they marveled and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
17:52In Matthew chapter nine and verse number eight, they marveled
17:56because they were saying among themselves, what manner of man is this?
18:02In Matthew nine and verse number 33, when Jesus cast out a devil from a man who could not speak,
18:09the Bible says when the devil was cast out the dumb spade and the multitude marveled saying
18:16it was never so seen in Israel. When Jesus cast out that devil and that dumb man, that man that
18:25could not speak began to talk. They marveled and they said among themselves, what manner of man is
18:33this? That he even has power over the devils and that he can make the dumb speak.
18:41And when the Pharisees tried to debate Jesus on the subject of taxes,
18:46and they were unsuccessful, the Bible says in Luke 20 and verse number 26, watch this,
18:52they could not take hold of his words before the people and they marveled at his answer
19:00and held their peace, amen. Do you know this morning that even the unbelievers marveled at
19:06the Lord Jesus Christ? As a matter of fact, when Jesus went into the synagogue and taught,
19:12the Bible says in John 7, 15, and the Jews marveled saying, how to know what this man
19:20never was? How can this man read and know everything about the world yet he's never
19:28been in meditation? They marveled saying among themselves, what manner of man is this?
19:40You know what I marvel at this morning? I marvel at number one, I marvel at the very fact that
19:46Jesus was in the boat with his disciples and the storm came and the winds were howling,
19:51the boat was being tossed to and fro. I marvel at the fact this morning that Jesus was asleep
19:56in the midst of the storm, amen. You know, if that was any of us or that was any other man,
20:03they would have been like those other disciples doing everything they could do to save themselves
20:08and save the ship, but in the worst part of the storm, Jesus was sitting there asleep.
20:14When I read that story, Brother Jack, I marvel at that story and I say, what manner of man is this
20:21that can sleep through such a storm? But more so than that, this morning, I marvel at the fact
20:28that Jesus loves me and wants to save. He loves me, he loves you, and he wants to save sinful
20:34men and women. Listen, this morning, I don't know why Jesus chose to save me. I don't know how he
20:40saved me, but I'll tell you one thing, I'm sure glad that he did. And when we read the scripture
20:47this morning, we find where Jesus was talking to a woman at the well, and as he was talking to her,
20:55telling her the words of life, how to be saved, his disciples marveled,
21:02asking among themselves, why would Jesus even talk to such a woman?
21:08Miss Cheryl, I don't know why Jesus loves sinners, but I'm sure glad that he does.
21:18And everywhere that Jesus went and everything that Jesus did, the people stood by and marveled
21:28and said, what manner of man is this? You see, number one, Jesus was a man,
21:35but we also find number two, that Jesus was much more than a man. But number three,
21:42we also find out that Jesus is the only one who has the power to save.
21:50Look at verse number 25, if you would.
21:54In verse number 25, the Bible says, and his disciples came to him and awoke him saying,
22:00Lord, save us, we perish. And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?
22:08Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great call.
22:15In Matthew chapter number eight, again, we see Jesus with his disciples.
22:20They were leaving Capernaum, so they entered into a ship to sail across the Sea of Galilee.
22:28After they had left the shore, Jesus went to sleep as he had been ministering nonstop for hours and
22:38Jesus went to sleep as he had been ministering nonstop for hours and for days. I mean,
22:46he literally has been going on for days and for hours ministering and helping people,
22:52healing sicknesses, healing disease, ministering to the needs of people.
22:57And as he got into this boat, he told his disciples, you know what, guys,
23:01I'm going to take myself a little nap. You see, if you talk about him being a man, he was tired.
23:08And as he went to sleep, a storm arose in the midst of the sea that became so violent and so
23:15nasty that everything around them began to change within minutes.
23:23And at first, I would imagine this morning that the disciples said, don't wake the master,
23:28we can handle this ourselves. I would imagine at first when the storm came up, they said,
23:34you know what, this isn't anything new. We're fishermen, we've been trained for this.
23:41We don't need Jesus, just let him sleep. We'll take care of this ourselves.
23:48But as that storm began to get worse and worse and worse, and as that boat began to get tossed
23:55to and fro worse and worse and worse, those disciples started finally coming to an understanding
24:03that without their training, without their ability, without their equipment,
24:10there was nothing they could do to save themselves.
24:15So in a last ditch effort, they woke up Jesus and said, Lord, save us, we perish.
24:24Now, Jesus didn't get angry at them for disturbing him.
24:28Jesus didn't get upset when they woke him up.
24:33He simply stood up in the midst of that boat, and he rebuked the winds and the waves,
24:40and then he saved everybody that was in that boat.
24:46You know, I've read this story probably a thousand times since I've been a Christian.
24:50This story reminds me so much about the condition of people in the world of today.
24:55You see, many people today go through life trying to do everything by themselves without the help of God.
25:03And they think they can handle the worst that life has to offer.
25:08I'm going to tell you something, the world, if you haven't figured it out now, the world is not a nice place.
25:14The world is a very cruel place, and there are very evil people who live in this world.
25:22But yet, men and women say, you know what, I don't need nothing, I can handle it myself.
25:29And they try as hard as they can to go through life.
25:34But as they go through life, they find out that the storms just get worse and worse and worse.
25:40The conditions surrounding their life just get worse and worse and worse.
25:44The cruelty of life just gets worse and worse and worse.
25:51And then all of a sudden, as they begin to sink, in a last ditch effort, they finally look up and they say, Lord, save me, I'm perishing.
26:03And you know what Jesus does? He reaches down and he pulls up that sinking person, that man or woman, and he saves them right there on the spot.
26:13You know, I get upset this morning when I look and see all the protests, where men and women curse the name of Jesus.
26:23I get upset with all the atheism that is spewed this morning all around our country.
26:28I get upset when people in America stand up and they say, no, we don't want America to be a Christian nation.
26:38That bothers me this morning.
26:42I believe it bothers God as well.
26:45But, when one of those God-denying atheists begin to sink, and they look up, and they say, Jesus, save me, I'm perishing.
26:57Despite everything they've ever said or despite everything they've ever done, he still reaches down and he pulls them up and saves them.
27:05Boy, that's how wonderful this morning the grace of God is.
27:09And Jesus is the only one that can do that.
27:16Nobody else can.
27:18Now, Jesus this morning will allow a person to try to save themselves.
27:23Oh, yes, you can try to save yourself as long as you want to try to save yourself.
27:28Jesus will never force a person to call upon him.
27:32But this morning, when you finally come to a place in your life, when you realize that you need him, that's when he'll reach down and he'll lift you up.
27:43I remember hearing a story one time about a man who was out in the water, and he was swimming, and he got a cramp while he was swimming.
27:53I've had that happen to me before, Brother Jack, I'll tell you, it's miserable.
27:56Unfortunately for me, I don't go out of the shallow, I'm not a very good swimmer.
28:00But I'll tell you, it's miserable when you get a cramp when you're swimming.
28:05And this man got a cramp and he was out there in the deep water and all of a sudden he couldn't swim anymore.
28:11And as he was trying to save himself, he was beating upon the water for everything he had in his life.
28:17And the lifeguard was standing right there watching him do it, not doing anything.
28:23Man, just beating the water for dear life, trying to save himself.
28:28A lady had come up to the lifeguard and said, what's wrong with you, can't you see that man is drowning?
28:34He was beating the water for his life.
28:37The lifeguard just stood there looking at him.
28:42Finally, when the man lost all of his strength and began to go under, then the lifeguard jumped in the water and went out there and saved the man.
28:50When the lifeguard brought him to shore, the lady asked him, why didn't you go in there soon and save him?
28:59This is what the lifeguard said, he said, if I would have jumped in the water any sooner, he said, listen, that man would have drowned himself and he would have drowned me, but I had to let him lose all of his strength before I could bring him to shore.
29:12And sometimes that's what God has to do in a person's life.
29:16He has to let you get to a place where you know that you can't handle it, that you can't make it, and then you get reached out from heaven and it's in your soul.
29:31Well, I'll tell you, that's how wonderful God is this morning.
29:34So, number one, Jesus was a man, but we also find, number two, that Jesus was much more than a man.
29:41Number three, Jesus is the only one who has power to save, watch this, number four, we see that Jesus has the power to calm the storm, look at verse number 23, if you would.
29:56In verse number 23, the Bible says, when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.
30:09And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, and so much that the ship was covered with the waves.
30:16But he was asleep, and his disciples came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us.
30:25And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, ye of little faith?
30:29Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great toll.
30:35Verse 27, but the men marveled, saying, what manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
30:46The first thing that I want you to notice here, number one, I want you to notice the fact that Jesus was asleep.
30:55Again, I marvel at that, brother Mark, I marvel at the fact that Jesus was able to sleep in a boat through the midst of a storm, such as the storm that they were facing.
31:06If the disciples who were professional fishermen were worried about the conditions of the water, I'm going to tell you something, that shows us right there that that storm must have been awfully fierce.
31:18But we notice in this story, number one, that Jesus was asleep in the midst of the storm.
31:25That shows us this morning how weary that Jesus was when he was in the midst of the storm.
31:32Listen, that's why this morning it is so important to make sure that Jesus is with you in your life.
31:41That's why this morning it is so important to make sure that you know Jesus and he knows you, and that when you face the storms of this life, you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is in your boat.
31:56How would the disciples have turned out if Jesus was not in the boat with them that day?
32:03What would have happened to the disciples if Jesus was not in their boat?
32:08I'll tell you what would have happened. They would have perished.
32:12They would have had no one to call out to.
32:16But since Jesus was in the boat, they were saved.
32:24But then as Jesus stood up and rebuked the winds and the waves, number two, I want you to notice this, that the Bible tells us this morning that there was a great calm.
32:36A great calm came over that entire sea.
32:40You know, it reminds me of a verse of scripture that Jesus gave to us in his word in John 14, 27.
32:46The Bible says, peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.
32:50Not as the world giveth, am I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
32:57You see, the peace that Jesus offers the believer this morning is referred to in the Bible as the peace of God which passes understanding.
33:09Because the lost world this morning cannot begin to understand how a child of God can face the toughest storms in life and yet still be at peace.
33:23The world cannot begin to understand that this morning.
33:27And that peace this morning that Jesus offers, it will guide us through the storms of life.
33:35That peace that Jesus offers, it will comfort you in times of sorrow.
33:41That peace that Jesus offers you will even comfort you when you close your eyes in death.
33:50And the world cannot give that kind of peace.
33:56The world this morning cannot understand that kind of peace.
34:00That kind of peace this morning is only given to us by Jesus when we kneel at the cross.
34:08Could you imagine this morning those disciples as they witnessed Jesus stand up in that boat that day?
34:16They were all fearful. They were all thinking that they were going to perish.
34:20But Jesus stood up in that boat. He rebuked the winds and the waves.
34:26And all of a sudden, in an instant, the storm was gone.
34:30And there was a great calm.
34:34There's no way this morning, Miss Diane, that we can say that was a coincidence.
34:40You can't say that.
34:44Because as Jesus spoke the words, listen, the storm didn't slowly disappear.
34:50It didn't slowly let up. It didn't slowly go away.
34:54As Jesus spoke the word, immediately, it all stopped.
35:00And there was a calm that came across the entire sea.
35:06When they saw Jesus calm the sea, they looked at each other and they said,
35:12What manner of man is this that even the winds and the sea obey him?
35:16I'm almost through this morning.
35:18So number one, we find that Jesus was a man.
35:20We also find, number two, that Jesus was much more than a man.
35:24Number three, we find that Jesus is the only one who has the power to save.
35:28Number four, we find that Jesus has the power to calm the storm.
35:32And then number five, my last one, and then I'm going to be through.
35:36Number five, we see that Jesus has the power to deliver us to the other side.
35:44If you don't get anything else from what I'm preaching this morning, I want you to get this last one.
35:50Jesus this morning has the power to deliver you to the other side.
35:56Look at verse number 28, if you would.
35:58In verse number 28, the Bible says, and when he was coming to the other side, in the country of the Gurgisines,
36:10there met him two possessed with devils coming out of the tombs, exceeding fear, so that no man might pass by that way.
36:18And verse number 28, just the very first part of that verse, when he was come to the other side.
36:28You see, in the midst of the storm, when the winds and the waves were at their very worst,
36:36when the sea began to violently toss the boat to and fro,
36:40I bet you that at least one of those disciples said, guys, I don't think we're going to make it.
36:48Maybe they all said, guys, this is it.
36:54We're not going to make it.
36:56You know, those disciples at that point might have even started thinking about their families.
37:02They might have started thinking about their lives.
37:04They might have had one of those situations where everything that ever happened, it came right before their memory.
37:12As they were thinking that that was it, they're going to die.
37:16But then they call upon Jesus.
37:22And Jesus saved them.
37:26But the story doesn't end there.
37:28Then he brought them to the other side.
37:30This morning, as a Christian, I don't know what might be taking place in your life, what you're facing today or what you might face tomorrow.
37:40But I do want to tell you this this morning.
37:42If the Lord Jesus is with you, even though you might be in a storm and it might be fierce and it might be threatening and it might even be violent.
37:52If Jesus is with you this morning, he will bring you to the other side.
37:58You see, there are a lot of people this morning who even right now are living their lives saying, you know, I hope I make it.
38:06Today, while men and women are about to draw their last breath, they approach eternity saying, I hope I make it.
38:14Oh, listen, this morning, if you simply call upon Jesus, listen, he'll save you.
38:22He'll give you the peace of knowing that he will take you to the other side.
38:26You say, Brother Robbie, are you concerned about making it?
38:30Not at all.
38:32I already know I'm going to make it because Jesus is with me.
38:36So this morning, you don't have to worry about the storms of life if Jesus is in your boat.
38:44You don't have to worry about what's going to happen tomorrow.
38:47You don't have to worry about what's going to happen in the world if Jesus is in your boat.
38:52I know that there are a lot of people that when they look at the news and they see what's happening in America and across the world, they're filled with worry.
39:00Listen, those things might be happening, but you and I don't have to worry about those things if Jesus is in your boat.
39:06And you don't have to worry about death or eternity if Jesus is in your boat.
39:14So this morning, if you're here and you might be struggling in the midst of a storm, call upon Jesus.
39:21And he'll save you this morning and he'll calm the storms in your life.
39:27So the title of the message this morning is what manner of man is this?
