Thai PM Paetongtarn promises to 'serve everyone equally and wholeheartedly'
Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra vowed on Sunday (August 18) to serve everyone "equally," regardless of gender, age, or diversity, after she was endorsed by the king to become the country's youngest leader.
In her first press conference as the country's 31st prime minister, Paetongtarn said on Sunday that she would continue with all the policies of her predecessor and ally, Srettha Thavisin, including "major" economic stimulus and reform, tackling illegal drugs, improving the country's universal healthcare system and promoting gender diversity.
The 37-year-old said the government will not abandon its flagship digital wallet policy but will seek to "study and listen to additional options" to make sure the scheme is fiscally responsible.

00:00I am dedicated to pushing forward key policies from economic reforms and the 30-bath healthcare
00:22improvements to enhancing digital infrastructure and promoting Thailand's soft power on the
00:28global stage. I'd like to thank the people of Thailand, whether you voted for me or not.
00:37I promise to serve everyone equally and wholeheartedly, every age, every gender,
00:47every diversity. Together, let's turn any challenges into opportunities, making Thailand
00:56a place where everyone can dream, create, and shape their future. I hope I can ask him for advice
01:06anytime that I want, but not all the time, 24-7 like that, because it's not possible.
01:11So I am my own person, and I have my own things and my own goals that I have to be
01:17achieved in the future. But of course, all the comments from him value to me, and
01:26yes, I just wish that I could work with everybody, including my dad as well.
