00:00I'm Ryan Cooter, I'm the guitar player, one of the guitar players in Carry On Veil.
00:14We're here at Reggie's in Chicago with Warforged and Summoning the Lich, the Last Day of Tour,
00:21for the Middle West Metal Quest Tour.
00:24This is our van, a repurposed former church van, doesn't technically have a name, although
00:29there was intention to print a Vantichrist decal for it, so maybe one day.
00:35But yeah, that's what we got.
00:38We tend to take turns driving.
00:40I'm the night owl, so I tend to take the after-show drives, then between Travis, our vocalist,
00:49drummer Matt, really everybody in the band, except for our bass player, who tends to do
00:53most of the rest of the driving, but our bass player, Al, is a very reliable co-pilot.
00:58So we all kind of have our place in it.
01:00For us, it's pretty much whoever's in the driver's seat gets free range of whatever
01:05they want to listen to, so we all kind of just don't complain, more than anything.
01:10So our drummer Matt's going to be listening to country, I might be putting on weird, like
01:15just grunge music and whatever else, and they might be hating it, but we tend to put up
01:20with it.
01:21Travis is big on his horror podcast, we learn about serial killers on the way to various
01:26venues, but yeah.
01:29Trent and Al are big on their liquid deaths, so there's bound to be plenty of those later
01:33to about.
01:34I've got a bad sugar habit for my Pepsis and Coca-Colas, so that's thereabouts.
01:41You've got to have your Huggy's wipes and various cleanly devices, because tour gets
01:48a little bit nasty.
01:52Some of us are being responsible and drinking water, I've mostly been on the soda today,
01:56so that's bad on me.
01:58First row here is unfortunately the only row with cup holders.
02:02That's probably aftermarket, but it's been there since we got the van from the church
02:06that we bought it from.
02:09One day we really would like to have one in each row, but for now, the person up here
02:13is the cup holder.
02:16So first row has mostly been a rotation, I've kind of been mandatory second row, and then
02:23the last row has been a bit of Trenton and a bit of Al, our guitar player and bass player.
02:27This row is unfortunately the only row with a charging station, so we have very, very
02:32long cords that reach pretty much all the way to the back.
02:38We got ourselves a massive thing of earplugs that I am continuing to spill all over the
02:46floor, which as you can see has been done for most of the last week or two.
02:52But you gotta have ear protection on all these shows when the in-ears aren't in.
02:57Despite some crumbs down here, this tends to be the cleanly row.
02:59It's the end of tour, so a lot of our bags are kind of removed, but I'm kind of the OCD
03:05one in the band, so generally there are no crumbs or anything left around the last few
03:11days having been back here, so someone ruined that for me.
03:14But yeah, generally I'd have my suitcase and just a few random things laying around.
03:20I have a nice little thermos, or not thermos, just a lunch bag that has a lot of random
03:26goods so you can eat cheap on tour.
03:29Applesauces and granola bars and all the fun amenities.
03:32But yeah, this is me living large back here.
03:35Third row, we rotate so much it's kind of hard to say it's one person, but generally
03:40that's a, if you're a driver that's swapping out, you're probably going back there to sleep
03:45because no one in the front can hear you.
03:47You're kind of just secluded back there.
03:49It gets a little bit warm because unfortunately on this entire tour we have had no AC.
03:55So it was all right in the Midwest, but in Texas this was kind of the hot seat, not the
04:01ideal place to be.
04:03Fortunately on this tour we have been backlining the cabs with summoning the lich.
04:09They provided it for us and for Warforged.
04:12So back here, pretty much this entire row here and everything that you can see back
04:16here is blocked out with our rack units, our guitar cases, bass cases, just in-ear
04:23monitors, shit, just all the fun stuff.
04:26So it's, you don't really have a rear view mirror that's useful when you're the driver.
04:32We just put out a new album this year with Unique Leader Records, it's Cannibals Anonymous.
04:37Came out on March 29th, that's, you can stream it anywhere.
04:41We've got vinyl, CD, you can buy it on indie merch or through Unique Leader's website which
04:46connects to that.
04:48Tour is ending today, but we'll have a few other shows that we're going to announce soon.
04:52Some one-offs and other weekend runs that are coming up pretty quick, so keep an eye
04:56out for that.
04:58And that's kind of what's on the horizon for us.
