00:00Outstation voters can no longer be considered an electoral fixed deposit for PAS in Kelantan,

00:08Amno Secretary General Ashraf Wajdi Dusuki said last night following Barisan Nasional's

00:13victory in the Nangiri by-election.

00:16Ashraf said BN's victory proved that outstation voters no longer backed PAS.

00:21He said there was a notable increase in the number of outstation voters who came back

00:25to cast their ballots compared to those who turned up for the state election in August

00:29last year.

00:30Ashraf said BN's success was a moral victory for the federal government coalition, especially

00:35since BN lost the seat last year.

00:38Meanwhile, Kelantan Amno Chief Ahmad Jalzlan Yacoub said the decision to unveil its candidate

00:43early was one reason it won the by-election.

00:46The PAS-led state government's failure to resolve problems as well as their penchant

00:50for blaming Putrajaya for it was another factor, he said.

00:54BN reclaimed the Nangiri state's seat when its candidate, Aznawi Fikri Abdel Ghani, won

00:59by a majority of 3,352 votes in a straight fight against Perikatan Nasional's Rizwadi
