More than 80, 000 people are expected to turn out for the closing weekend of the 145th annual Royal Queensland Show. Saturday's crowds battled sweltering temperatures instead of the heavy downpours that earlier in the week postponed the grand parade.

00:00The sun was out and so were the show-goers, with tens of thousands pouring through the
00:06gates.
00:09The Royal Queensland Shows Parade was a Saturday treat for this crowd, after a downpour early
00:14in the week moved it from People's Day for the first time in 145 years.
00:20It'll be a little bit smaller than usual because we're still making sure that the
00:23track's dried out.
00:24It was worth the wait when the horses and cattle took centre stage.
00:28We were actually planning last Wednesday but unfortunately it was raining and my friend
00:33said it's muddy so we just waited until today and I'm very happy that we're here.
00:39And there were no complaints on the soaring temperature.
00:42Once the echo hits it's definitely summer's on the way.
00:44As many made the most of the sunshine.
00:47We've been in the kids' pavilion, we saw the dogs, we've got the granddaughter with
00:51us so we've been there.
00:55And the thrilling rides amongst the clear skies were also crowd favourites.
00:59On a hot day like this one, this echo favourite is an essential.
01:03I better eat this strawberry sundae before it melts.
01:06ABC Radio kept cool by broadcasting live inside.
01:10So many people who watch the program, whether city or country, come up and say hello and
01:15gosh it's a great place to find stories as well.
01:17Back on the track, the competition was heating up.
01:20A proud grandmother and mother watched on from the stands.
01:24One of the classes got rained out but Frank's an imported horse from New Zealand and he
01:28usually likes a wet track so it wasn't too bad.
01:31Only one day left.
