00:00Today, I'm being transformed from a gothic scene
00:03into a 70s Bohemian look.
00:05I mix cyber goth, 90s mall goth,
00:08and the scene within my wardrobe.
00:10Spikes have always been drawn to rebellious subcultures
00:14and how they change the fashion industry.
00:18I think a lot about the 70s,
00:21and I really like the idea of the style
00:23because it's such a rebellious movement during that time.
00:26I'll be revealing my look to two of my besties.
00:30I'm honestly, like, kind of nervous
00:32because I've only really seen her in full scene.
00:35Oh, my God!
00:37That's completely not what I expected at all.
00:42These are toys that I plan on turning into jewelry.
00:46I'm planning on buying an eye screw,
00:49screwing it, and then making it into necklaces.
00:53And it's also funky, too.
00:55My name is Avalon, and my style is gothic scene.
00:58I've always been drawn to platforms
01:00because they make me a lot taller.
01:02Cyber falls that I love to wear
01:04whenever I'm going for more of a cyber goth kind of look.
01:06I mix cyber goth, 90s mall goth,
01:09a little bit of pastel goth,
01:11and the scene within my wardrobe.
01:13It's a little bit of my own taste and my own flair,
01:16and it's a little bit of someone else's flair
01:19and someone that I looked up to
01:21and I got the inspo from.
01:23Does inspo mean inspiration?

01:27I remember when I was little,
01:29I would see some people dress as a cyber goth,
01:31and I used to think that their hair color was so cool.
01:34And their hairstyle and their hair color
01:36kind of reminds me of Fruit Roll-Ups,
01:38but, like, kind of fluffy.
01:40I was like, I'm gonna be you one day.
01:44Today, I'm getting transformed
01:46into a 70s bohemian look,
01:48and I'm very excited.
01:50I think a lot about the 70s
01:52and the 70s culture,
01:54and I really like the idea of the style
01:56because it's such a rebellious movement
01:58during that time.
01:59I'll be revealing my look
02:01through two of my besties,
02:03Kate and Abby.
02:04I think they're gonna be very surprised
02:06to see my transformation
02:08because they are so used to seeing me
02:10dressed like this all out
02:12with the dark and the neon colors
02:14and the 50 hair extensions
02:17that I have in my head.
02:19I really want to step out of my comfort zone,
02:21and I'm so open and excited
02:23to try out new styles out there.
02:25This is definitely different
02:27than what I would usually wear,
02:29but I don't mind wearing this at all.

02:53but my natural hair color is a little bit darker.
02:55I haven't had my natural hair color
02:57since I was
02:59probably 17.
03:01I'm very nervous
03:03to see
03:05how I'm going to look in the style.
03:07And in my mind,
03:09something can look good,
03:11but sometimes once you put it on,
03:13you're like, oh, okay,
03:15this isn't exactly
03:17what I think it will look in my mind.

03:41The look that we are trying to achieve
03:43is more of a
03:45more soft glam,
03:47so she's glowing perfectly,
03:49but we're going to make her glow
03:51in a different way.
03:53This will be the biggest challenge,
03:55taking the makeup off.
03:57So what got you into this style?
03:59I'm really into listening to
04:01new metal, EBM,
04:03industrial and EDM music,
04:05and that's how I got into the fashion
04:07is through the music.
04:09I've always liked to introduce the music
04:11I'm listening to.
04:13I will look up what style is
04:15associated with this subculture
04:17or this music group, and most of the time
04:19it would be styles I'm really into.
04:21I'm like, oh, it kind of makes sense.
04:23I would always tell people, these are the background
04:25stories, or these are the groups
04:27that people have come together,
04:29and this is how the subculture
04:31has evolved and has formed.
04:35So how do you feel, me doing your makeup
04:37right now? I feel really
04:39thrilled about it. I'm actually really excited
04:41because I love makeovers,
04:43and it makes me feel like
04:45I'm going into a beauty pageant
04:47right now. Relax
04:49yourself. Getting pampered
04:51today.
04:53I like to see how someone
04:55transforms or
04:57works with my face and does a
04:59different makeup style, and I can see,

05:03want to add this to my style.

07:55I wouldn't mind it, but it would take me a while to get used to
