00:00I used to see Fernando Colunga a lot when I was a kid and I used to say,
00:05wow, Fernando Colunga starred when he was 27, 28 years old.
00:08And I used to say, wow, imagine how it would be.
00:10So for me, being here today, I say, wow, I really have no words.
00:18It's called Valentina, my special love.
00:20It's a story about a neurodivergent girl.
00:23And well, now the idea is to be able to give a little light to that topic,
00:29autism, without subjecting it to what is perhaps a stereotype,
00:36that perhaps many people think that people who are autistic
00:41do not have the ability to fall in love or live a normal life,
00:45a life like any other person.
00:48And Valentina is a very beautiful character who begins in a very small city
00:56and as she enters Guadalajara, she enters the Eureka company,
01:02which is the company of my character,
01:04she changes a lot, she adapts to what is a more normal life
01:10outside of her little town and she falls in love with my character.
01:13And well, my character, for his part, is a dreamer,
01:18he loves technology, he has a passion for it,
01:21and he is already committed, he has a story,
01:24but now he has problems when he meets this girl
01:29and he begins to fall in love with her immense capacity of what is code,
01:34algorithms and everything that is to develop applications
01:40that are not very complex for the company.
01:42So he begins to help my character a lot
01:44and through that he begins to connect with her,
01:47until he falls in love with her.
01:49And now, in part, it's like discovering a new world with this girl
01:53because it's different.
01:57It's something new for me to work here in Mexico,
02:01it's something that my agency and I have been fighting a lot,
02:05the truth is that I owe a lot to them too,
02:08and well, my character, as you said, is the protagonist,
02:13my first protagonist, and well, very excited, really.
02:18I moved from Mexico when I was very young, at 7 years old,
02:21and well, I grew up watching Mexican productions,
02:26so for me it has always been a dream to return to Mexico,
02:29to work in my country and do big things here.
02:32So, I say, I am also very grateful for the opportunities
02:36that I have had there in the United States,
02:39but I always wanted to come here,
02:41so being here, being able to work with directors,
02:44producers, Mexican actors,
02:46the truth is that for me it is a dream come true, really.
02:49I am very, very happy.
02:53Three yeses, that is a resounding yes from the three judges.
02:57I want to know what was in your head,
03:00who were you thinking of at that moment?
03:03My mom, my mom, my dad,
03:05especially when they asked me about my dad,
03:07what I said is the same,
03:09that I am still here, that I am here to show him that it is possible.
03:12Would you tell him now, after you have three yeses from the jury?
03:15Mainly that everything will be fine,
03:17that I know that everything will be fine
03:19and that now, please, that I no longer have doubts about this,
03:22that they believe in me, that they believe in me,
03:24that they believe in all this and that I am going to show them
03:27that if they do not believe after this,
03:29I will continue and I will continue to show them
03:31that this is what I want to do and that there is no other,
03:33that this is what I want to do.
03:36Sometimes I say how crazy this industry is,
03:39I have talked a lot about it lately,
03:41but wow, yes, I remember perfectly that day.
03:46Today I think I understand it more,
03:49my dad has always been worried about me,
03:51I come from a family that has nothing to do with the artistry,
03:55my dad has always been a businessman,
03:58the truth is that he never knew this medium
04:00and like any other father,
04:02I think he is afraid, he is afraid of me,
04:06of such a difficult industry,
04:08but I think that today he is proud,
04:12he has seen it and I think it is there,
04:14he already got on the boat,
04:16in part maybe because he says,
04:18no, I can't do anything anymore,
04:20I think the train is going too fast,
04:22so you can't get off anymore.
04:24I studied at the conservatory
04:26and then eventually I studied the career,
04:28but as you say,
04:30my beginnings were always in music,
04:32a very big space in my life will always be music,
04:35I don't know where it is right now,
04:39but it will always be in my mind,
04:41to do a musical career too,
04:43and well, I still write music,
04:45singing all the time,
04:47so let's hope something happens,
04:50the performance has given me many blessings,
04:53and it is something that I discovered later,
04:56and it has also become a great passion,
04:58but music is always there for me.
05:00What is left today?
05:02Look, I'm going to tell you what is left
05:04and what is different,
05:06what is left?
05:09Now, if you don't have that dream,
05:11then why be in this career?
05:13But I was there at 18,
05:15in that interview,
05:17I remember perfectly,
05:19I was on stage,
05:21and I decided,
05:23wow, I want to eat the world,
05:25I want to show that this career,
05:27no matter how difficult it is,
05:29can be achieved.
05:31And I say it again,
05:33if you don't think like that,
05:35why be here,
05:37this is my process.
05:39Before, maybe I just thought about
05:41eating the world,
05:43wanting to do everything,
05:45showing everyone.
05:47Nowadays,
05:49I think I'm just enjoying
05:51where I am,
05:53really grateful for every opportunity,
05:55because I realize how difficult
05:57the career is,
05:59and thanks to my team, Palomera Group,
06:01who have been with me in every step,
06:03from the beginning they trusted me,
06:05they have given me great opportunities,
06:07and nowadays I realize
06:09what that entails,
06:11how difficult it is to have
06:13the opportunities I've had,
06:15and I think nowadays I'm a little more
06:17calm in that sense,
06:19not trying to prove a point,
06:21just being grateful for where I am,
06:23always grateful for my team,
06:25and now,
06:27as much as I can,
06:29try to be calm in this industry,
06:31which is so cool and so exciting,
06:33it's like a rollercoaster,
06:35always trying to be at peace
06:37and with clarity.
06:39My first project was a young protagonist,
06:41Juan Rivera,
06:43and I started like that.
06:45I wanted to eat the world,
06:47and that's how I started.
06:49When you have more time,
06:51you realize how difficult it is,
06:53and how difficult it is
06:55for a big production company
06:57to offer you an opportunity like that.
06:59With Telemundo,
07:01I always did very important roles,
07:03they always opened that door for me,
07:05from the beginning they trusted me,
07:07I had the opportunity to work at Nickelodeon,
07:09which is like every kid's dream,
07:11I'm watching Nickelodeon and Disney,
07:13so whoever could do that,
07:15and with a project as beautiful
07:17as Club 57, which exploded,
07:19the truth is that
07:21for me it was very special,
07:23and nowadays being here,
07:25I used to say at 19, at 18,
07:27how would it be to be a protagonist
07:29in my country,
07:31I said, wow, I want to do it at 28,
07:33I used to watch a lot of
07:35Fernando Colunga,
07:37and I used to say, wow,
07:39Fernando Colunga starred at 27, 28 years old,
07:41and I used to say, wow, imagine how it would be,
07:43so for me, being here today,
07:45I say, wow,
07:47I really have no words,
07:49I really feel very grateful
07:51with all my process,
07:53and I think that's what I carry in my head today,
07:55enjoying every moment where I am,
07:57and being grateful.
