00:30Hey everyone, in this video, I'm going to be demoing the Evans EC-1 Reverse Dot. The
00:47EC-1 Reverse Dot is a single ply drum head which is 14 mils thick. Now a lot of drum
00:53heads are actually two plies, you know, one would be 7 mil, one would be 5 mil and that
00:58works out to 12 mils thick. This is one ply, 14 mil. So it's a thicker head but you're
01:04going to get all of the, you know, good things with single ply heads are the sensitivity
01:08and the attack and you're going to get all those things with the durability almost of
01:12a two ply. Now this has what's called Sound Shaping Technology, SST is the acronym and
01:18this goes all the way around the head and it also has the reverse dot underneath. And
01:23this just really enhances the tone and the attack of the drum head. Now I would use this
01:27head for a variety of styles of music whether that's rock, funk, you can even use it for
01:32some jazz stuff if you're playing jazz. It's really just a matter of following your ears
01:36and pairing the sound with your specific style of music that you're playing. Okay, so next
01:41up I'm going to play a little bit with the kick, snare and hi-hats and show you how this
01:44one sounds. Here we go.
