00:30Hey everyone, the drum head I'm demoing for you here is the Evans Heavyweight Snare Drum
00:46Head.
00:47Now, this snare drum head is made for the very, very heavy hitters and it's built for
00:51durability.
00:52Okay, so it's two plies of 10mm film and on the bottom of those two plies of film, there's
00:58a 5 inch control patch, okay, and it's a 5mm control patch on the bottom of those.
01:05So, right in the center of the head here, you can really, really bash that non-stop
01:10and you know you're not going to get those little nicks, those little dents in the drum
01:13head.
01:14Okay, now, what I love about this head is even though it's thicker, it's the two plies
01:18of 10mm, with the patch, it's still very, very responsive and I still feel like I get
01:23those real light ghost notes out of it and I still feel like if I was in a situation
01:29where I was playing a lighter style of music, I'd be able to get by with this.
01:33Now, if I was playing jazz the whole night, I wouldn't actually put this head on, but
01:37if I was playing rock and any sort of funk and any of the kind of genres of music where
01:43you can actually kind of lay into the drum sometime, I think this head would work well
01:48and it would also give you the flexibility just in case you needed it for the lighter
01:52stuff.
01:53It's a really, really cool drum head and I love the way it sounds.
01:56So next up, I'm just going to play a little bit for you on the kick snare and hi-hats
02:00and show you how it sounds in a more practical setting.
02:03Here we go.
