00:00The Royal Commission of Inquiry reviewing the Pulau Batu Putih sovereignty case will

00:07let the government decide whether to make its report public, a source said.

00:12The source said the RCI will present its findings and proposals to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim

00:17later this month.

00:19The source also said the report is confidential because it includes sensitive details about

00:23ongoing talks with Singapore over territorial waters.

00:27On Monday, the RCI submitted its classified final report to Yang di-Pertuan Agung Sultan

00:32Ibrahim at Istana Negara.

00:35In 2017, Putrajaya filed an application to review the International Court of Justice's

00:40decision to award Singapore's sovereignty over Pulau Batu Putih.

00:45In that decision, the ICJ awarded middle rocks to Malaysia while the ownership of Southledge,

00:50located about four kilometres from Pulau Batu Putih, was left to be determined based on

00:55the delimitation of territorial waters.

00:58However, after taking over Putrajaya in May 2018, the Pakistan Harapan government, led

01:03by former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, withdrew the application before it was scheduled

01:08to be heard the following month.
