Alleged murder of 10yo girl devastates Gold Coast community

Sophie Wang was just 10 when she was found dead by her father at her home at Emerald Lakes, a leafy residential area in the central suburb of Carrara, on Tuesday evening. The aftershocks of the horrific alleged murder are rippling through the tight-knit Gold Coast Chinese community.

00:26mother, Yin-Yin Hsu, is now in custody and charged with her murder. Homicide detectives
00:32are reviewing these rambling videos the 46-year-old posted to TikTok that day, sharing a religious
00:38revelation. Authorities say they're not aware of any interaction between health or child
00:43safety and the family in the lead up to Sophie's death.
