Gold Coast woman charged with murder of 10-year-old girl
Police have charged a woman with the murder of a 10-year-old girl on the Gold Coast.

00:00A police investigation is underway after a 10-year-old girl was found dead in a Gold
00:08Coast home last night.
00:10Now emergency services were called to the home in the Gold Coast suburb of Carrara at
00:17about 6pm last night.
00:20They found the girl to be unresponsive and she was then pronounced dead.
00:25A few hours later, at about 25 past 10, police located a 46-year-old Carrara woman nearby
00:34and she was taken into custody.
00:38Now this morning that woman has been charged with murder and she's due to face the Southport
00:44Magistrates Court this morning.
00:47Emanuel College, which is a school nearby, has confirmed that the 10-year-old girl is
00:53one of their students and they've put out a statement saying that they're devastated
00:59by the tragic passing of one of our students last night.
01:03They've said they're providing support and counselling to their staff, students and community
01:09as they deal with the sudden death, so I'm sure that it would be a hard day for everyone
01:15at that school today.
