00:11This Friday, Sam will undergo surgery for his ACL injury.
00:17He was injured during the round of 64 of the women's individual foil in the Paris Olympics,
00:23where he defeated the fencer of Brazil.
00:26Sam continued in the round of 32 even though he was injured.
00:30He will return to the U.S. after his surgery to undergo rehab.
00:35Sam is now number 87 in the world ranking of senior women's foil,
00:40rising from rank 266 before the Olympics.
