00:00It has been a very, very busy morning here.
00:03We've already told you about the story we broke about Matthew Perry and the arrests and charges in his death.
00:08And there is another big case that is breaking here in L.A.
00:11We broke this this morning, that Johnny Wachter, the General Hospital star, the actor who was murdered back in May in downtown L.A.
00:19Well, police have not given up on this case.
00:22And they may have cracked the case.
00:23May have cracked it this morning.
00:24There were search warrants executed, raids that happened here in L.A.
00:29And what we are hearing is they are very close to arrest if they haven't been made already.
00:34And they have an idea of who the suspects are, obviously.
00:38They think it is a gang that is responsible for this.
00:41And there are multiple gang members that they are looking at.
00:45It is the Florencia 13 gang.
00:48There are members that they have targeted now, and they believe they know who is responsible.
00:54Remember, what happened was these suspects were allegedly trying to steal a catalytic converter, and he came up to them.
01:00Off of Johnny's car.
01:01Yeah, and he came up to them, and they just shot him dead.
01:04So what happened was, you know, after what they did, they shot him dead.
01:07LAPD worked this, and they found some fingerprints on the car.
01:09And that kind of cracked the case.
01:11And that's how they did it.
01:12And this morning, like you said, they left early in the morning.
01:14And they're still, as of right now, they're still conducting these investigations.
01:17What's interesting about that, Dennis, is, remember, this was in May.
01:20And so they would have gotten the fingerprints sometime close to that.
01:25But it has taken this long just to track down the suspects.
01:30It took a long time.
01:31And, you know, his family and friends have really been putting pressure on the LAPD to come up with something.
01:38And, you know, again, I think they were working on this case all along.
01:42It seems like it took a long time if they had the fingerprints.
01:45I can tell you for a fact they have been working on this.
01:47And there's just some things behind the scenes that they need to take care of, you know, to make sure they have this airtight, to take it to the DA, where the DA will say, yes, I'll file, as opposed to saying, no, listen, we have to go back and you need more.
01:58We saw this in Idaho, where people were trashing, trashing the law enforcement.
02:03Like, what are they doing?
02:04They were on it the whole time.
02:05They're on it the whole time.
02:07Hi, my name's Juwan.
02:09I'm from Detroit.
02:10And I think it's very unfortunate he was a victim of senseless violence, especially over a car park.
02:14And hopefully everyone involved gets brought to justice.
02:17Hopefully that's true, that if they can find the people who did it, hopefully you're right.
