00:00Every day when you're walking down the street, everybody that you meet has an original point
00:10of view.
00:11And I say, hey!
00:12Hey!
00:13What a wonderful kind of day.
00:14If you could learn to work and play, and get along with each other.
00:15You got to listen to your heart, listen to the beat, listen to the rhythm, rhythm of
00:28the street.
00:29Open up your eyes, open up your ears, get together and make things better by working
00:34together.
00:35It's a simple message, and it comes from the heart.
00:36Oh, believe in yourself, for that's the place to start.
00:37And I say, hey!
00:38Hey!
00:39What a wonderful kind of day.
00:40If you could learn to work and play, and get along with each other.

00:56What a wonderful kind of day.
00:57Hey!
00:58What a wonderful kind of day.
00:59Hey!
01:00Hey!
01:01T.W.!
01:02Hey!
01:03Whoa!
01:04Lost?
01:05Lost?
01:06Who's lost?
01:07Arthur, Daddy!
01:08He's lost, and I never got to say goodbye!
01:24Apparently he never showed up for his swimming lesson.
01:26I know!
01:28Maybe he isn't lost.
01:29Maybe he just ran away.
01:30I'll drive over to the school and see if he's there.
01:33And I'll call the bus company.
01:35Right.
01:36I'll go tell everybody.
01:37Please, stay right here, T.W.
01:39I don't need two lost children.
01:43If you were lost, you could go find him.
01:49He's out there somewhere.
01:56Oh, Arthur!
01:57Where are you?
02:04Lost?
02:13Arthur, you're home!
02:15Arthur, thank goodness!
02:17Are you okay, honey?
02:18We were so worried.
02:20All this time you were at the bus station,
02:24we worried our heads off for nothing.
02:26So tell us what happened.
02:28What about my story?
02:30I'm the one who answered the phone.
02:32His part's just a boring story about being lost.
02:35Mine's about being worried.
02:37You can tell your part when we come to it.
02:40Go ahead, honey.
02:42Well, I guess the beginning was back at school.
02:51Hey, Arthur!
02:53Wanna go bike riding?
02:54I can't.
02:55I have to take the bus to the pool for my swimming lesson.
02:57My mom couldn't drive me because she had to go to my sister's school play.
03:01D.W.'s the mashed potatoes in the pageant of foods.
03:05Hey, what's wrong?
03:06The bus?
03:07You mean you're taking the real one?
03:10The one that goes all the way to the edge of town?
03:13Sure, there's nothing to it.
03:15You just pay your money and go.
03:17I don't know.
03:18I heard about this guy who got on a bus
03:21and kept going and going.
03:29Excuse me.
03:31When's the next stop?
03:32I'm supposed to be at my swimming lesson now.
03:35You got the wrong bus, kid.
03:37We don't make any stops.
03:40No stops?
03:41But that's impossible!
03:43Oh, really?
03:46Ha, ha, ha!
03:59Yeah, I heard that same story.
04:02It was in a movie on TV last week.
04:05Oh, yeah.
04:06That's where I saw it.
04:08Don't worry.
04:09You'll be fine, Arthur.
04:10However, it's only fair to warn you about a kid I heard about.
04:15He didn't have enough money,
04:17so the driver wouldn't let him off the bus.
04:20Bye! See you tomorrow!
04:24Uh-uh-uh!
04:26Where do you think you're going?
04:28Please, can't I just leave?
04:31I've been on this bus for 40 years.
04:34Not until you pay your fare.
04:36But I didn't bring any money with me.
04:39It's in my other pants.
04:42You should have thought of that before you got on the bus,
04:45old man!
04:55Here it comes!
05:03Well, see ya!
05:05Yeah, thanks a lot.
05:07Exact change!
05:12Thanks.
05:24Squids in their ways!
05:42You fell asleep on the bus?
05:45I couldn't help it.
05:46I was up all night.
05:47I had a lot of reading.
05:52Arthur, go to sleep.
05:54It's past your bedtime.
05:56Okay, Mom.
05:57I'm practically asleep.
06:02Okay, so you were tired and you fell asleep.
06:05Yeah.
06:06And so then, well...
06:08That's when it got scary.
06:14Where are we?
06:17Uh, excuse me.
06:19Did we pass the pool?
06:21Ages ago.
06:22We're practically at the edge of town.
06:25Is everything okay?
06:27Uh, sure.
06:30Oh, no.
06:33The edge of town?
06:36The edge of town?
06:37Weren't you scared?
06:39Yeah.
06:40I mean, no.
06:42Arthur, why didn't you say something to the bus driver?
06:45Well, I thought about it.
06:48Last stop.
06:49Everybody out.
06:51Uh, never mind.
06:58Why did I have to take swimming lessons anyway?
07:01I guess I'll just walk home.
07:05If only I don't know which way to go.
07:07I don't even have enough money to take the bus back.
07:16Did you cry, Arthur?
07:18You did, didn't you?
07:20No, I didn't cry.
07:23Well, maybe a little.
07:25You should have seen how much I was crying when we heard you were lost.
07:29Wasn't I, Mommy?
07:30I thought my eyes would float away.
07:32I thought my head would swell up like a giant...
07:35Finish his story. Go on, honey.
07:43A telephone!
07:48Even if Mom and Dad aren't home, I know one person who will come and pick me up.
08:02Hang on, sweetie.
08:05Coming through.
08:08Look out!
08:17I'm coming!
08:29Grandma!
08:32Hello.
08:35Huh?
08:37Excuse me.
08:39I know you. You're from the bus.
08:41Yeah, um...
08:43Your phone doesn't work.
08:45Do you have another one?
08:47Afraid not.
08:48I keep telling Manny, that's the owner, to get that darn thing fixed.
08:52You look like you could use some refreshment.
08:55Take a seat.
08:56Whatcha drinkin'?
08:58Um, do you have any water?
09:00No, I don't.
09:03Um, do you have milk?
09:05Sure do.
09:06Hey, Manny! Squeeze me a cow!
09:10When do we get to my part of the story?
09:12Probably about now, D.W. Go ahead.
09:15Well, while you were stuffing your face, Mommy and I were hard at work.
09:24Mom! The phone's ringing!
09:26Mom, the phone is...
09:28Can you get it, D.W.?
09:30I have my hands full.
09:33What do you want?
09:34D.W.?
09:36Mom, did we lose Arthur somewhere?
09:38Arthur's at swimming lessons.
09:40In fact, it's almost time to go pick him up.
09:42Who's on the phone?
09:44It's a man from the pool who says that Arthur isn't there.
09:47What?!
09:49Don't cry, Mommy. Arthur's safe.
09:52He's right here, remember?
09:54I know. It's just...
09:56That was the worst phone call I ever got.
09:59So what did you do when you knew I was lost?
10:03Well, I called the bus company and they told me they'd try and find out what happened to you.
10:07And then we were going to call the police and send out a search party.
10:11Only right then we got another phone call, and...
10:14Hold on, D.W. Let's hear the rest of Arthur's story.
10:17Where was I? Oh, yeah. The diner.
10:21So, you go to Lakewood Elementary. I live right near there.
10:25You do? How do you get home?
10:29Sometimes I take a taxi, but usually I just grab the bus.
10:33What would you do if you didn't have any money?
10:36Do you need me to lend you some money?
10:39No, thank you.
10:41My dad says I should never accept money from strangers.
10:44That's good advice.
10:47Probably what I'd do then is go talk to the bus driver.
10:51Wouldn't he be mad?
10:53Nah, not Sam.
10:55Anyway, it couldn't hurt to try.
10:59In case you're interested, the bus usually heads back to town right about now.
11:03You might want to shake a leg.
11:05Thanks.
11:07Oh, um...
11:09It's on me.
11:12Oh, no! Wait! Wait!
11:17What do you want?
11:19I, uh... I'm not in the right place.
11:22I was supposed to get off at the pool.
11:24So what happened?
11:25I fell asleep, and I don't have any money left for the bus home,
11:28and I don't even know where I am or where I'd walk home, and...
11:31Hey, kid. I've heard enough.
11:34Don't sweat it. Happens all the time.
11:36Really?
11:38At least once a week. Name's Sam, by the way.
11:40I'm Arthur.
11:42Now, what do you say we get in touch with your folks, just in case they're getting anxious?
11:45How's that?
11:46Great!
11:52See you around, Arthur. Bye-bye!
11:55Thanks, Sam!
11:57It was very smart of you to figure out what to do, Arthur.
12:00We're both very proud of you.
12:02Sleep tight, and happy dreams.
12:08Huh? What's going on?
12:10D.W., what are you doing?
12:12I'm making sure you're not lost.
12:15Arthur, you scared me.
12:17You better promise never to get lost again.
12:20Okay. I won't.
12:22Do you promise?
12:25Cross your heart?
12:26Cross my heart.
12:36I think if Arthur had a map, he wouldn't have gotten lost.
12:40A map can tell you things.
12:42You can make a map of anything.
12:44We made a map of the inside of Philip's body.
12:49This is the brain.
12:50This is the stomach.
12:51It attaches to the pancreas.
12:54And these are the wood pipes that lead to the lungs.
12:57The stomach also attaches to the small intestine.
13:00And this is the heart.
13:02And to the kidney, which attaches to the blood.
13:05Isn't a map my uncle's dog?
13:10I made a map of an amusement park.
13:14I made a map of the solar system.
13:18It has all the planets.
13:20I made a map of my room.
13:23We made a map of the food chain.
13:31I made a map of my stomach.
13:33I had vitamins, nuggets, royals, chocolate milk, bread, M&Ms, golden crisps, pineapple, orange juice, chocolate, and milk.
13:45I made a map of my face.
13:47My eyes, my hair, my nose, my mouth.
13:52If you read the map of my heart, you'll know what I love.
13:55My mom and dad, my baby cousin, candy, school, my teacher, Mr. Rossi, the color blue and purple, my friends, and my dog.
14:07We love maps.
14:09We're a map of kids!
14:12And now, back to Harper!
14:16It's the last day of school.
14:18When that bell rings, summer starts!
14:22Summer is fun.
14:23It's just begun.
14:25There's lots of sun.
14:27We'll play and run.
14:29Summer is number one!
14:32Two minutes left in the school year.
14:34There's time for one last math problem.
14:38This is my list of all the great things I plan to do this summer.
14:49Ow!
14:51Hey, watch the birdie!
14:53Sorry, Buster.
14:59Rockin' at the beach! Rockin' at the beach!
15:09I see a hippo!
15:10I see a train racing an octopus.
15:13That is the most ridiculous!
15:16Hey, he's right!
15:21The answer is seventeen and a half.
15:22Have a good summer!
15:27Summer is here!
15:39It's another perfect summer day, pal.
15:42What should we do?
15:43We could go to the park.
15:44Or go swimming.
15:45Or play.
15:46How about shopping for back to school clothes?
15:48Yuck!
15:49Why would I want to do that?
15:50Because you start school next week.
15:53Huh?
15:54It's the last week of summer already?
15:58It can't be!
15:59It is impossible!
16:00It feels like summer just started and it's already over!
16:05Are we playing cave?
16:06We're not playing anything.
16:07I'm looking for my list.
16:12What list?
16:13The list I made when summer started of all the things I wanted to do.
16:17And I don't think I did any of them yet!
16:19Was losing the list on the list?
16:21You did that!
16:24I only have one week left to do all the things on my list!
16:30A ghost!
16:31A hairy ghost!
16:33Oh, it's just your dopey dog!
16:45Where's Arthur?
16:47He's missing all the fun!
16:48If I were a list, where would I be?
16:56Arthur!
16:57You could get hurt playing like that!
16:59Who's playing?
17:00I'm not having any fun at all!
17:07Come on, Arthur!
17:08Let's play kangaroo court!
17:10Sue the kangaroo cavorts in a Kawaisi courtroom!
17:16It's just fun!
17:17Not educational!
17:18Can't beat that!
17:22I've got to find it!
17:23Summer's almost over and I haven't done anything!
17:27Sure you did!
17:28What about the carousel?
17:36What are you doing, Gunky?
17:38This old carousel's done its last go-round, boys!
17:41I'm out of business!
17:43Huh?
17:44Why?
17:46Mr. Crosswire's bought it and I hear he's a-rippin' it down!
17:55This is where I want the new grease pits!
17:57We'll have the designs ready by next week, Mr. Crosswire!
18:02Grease pits could be fun, too!
18:04We wouldn't get to play in them, they're for his car business!
18:07Oh, that rots!
18:09We've got to do something!
18:11We need to band together!
18:14Yeah!
18:21What's going on here?
18:24I banded together the band to save the carousel!
18:27We don't want grease pits!
18:29Not unless we can play in them!
18:31Everyone grew up on this ride, including this young boy!
18:36Why, that's me!
18:38And Daddy!
18:39I'm so cute!
18:42Okay, okay, it stays!
18:48Your idea worked, Buster!
18:50You saved the carousel!
18:53That was something you did, not me!
18:56Yeah.
18:57Boy, I had a great summer!
19:02What kind of a goof wastes his whole summer?
19:08I didn't waste one minute!
19:11On the first day of summer,
19:13I took my bike apart and cleaned all the pieces!
19:16But you never tried to put it back together!
19:18Not true!
19:19I tried every day!
19:21Plus, I invented the mud sled!
19:26Ladies and gentlemen,
19:28the Binky Barn's official mud sled!
19:31Sleds ain't just for snow anymore!
19:35Woo-hoo!
19:45That was great!
19:47It didn't even work!
19:48But it was muddy and gooey!
19:52This was the best summer ever!
19:57You're gonna wear a hole in the floor
19:59and fall into the living room
20:01and Mommy will be really mad!
20:03Quiet! I'm thinking!
20:05Why?
20:09Only three days left!
20:11If I don't find my list,
20:12I've wasted my whole summer!
20:14Even Kate did something great this summer!
20:16She said her first word!
20:21Good night, Kate!
20:23Bluey-sakwa!
20:25Mommy! Daddy!
20:26Kate said her first word!
20:28Mommy! Daddy!
20:30What did she say?
20:32I bet it was Daddy.
20:33It was Daddy, wasn't it?
20:34She said,
20:35Bluey-sakwa!
20:38She said it clear as a bell!
20:40Bluey-sakwa!
20:45Where are you going?
20:46She might say it again!
20:48What's Bluey-sakwa mean anyway?
20:51Mom, DW's bothering me
20:53while I'm trying to think!
20:55What could be dumber
20:56than wasting an entire summer?
20:58I went to poetry camp!
21:01I was the poetry champ!
21:02This ribbon on my chest
21:03means that I'm the best!
21:05And now it's hard to stop making rhymes!
21:07I must have tried a thousand times!
21:10You must have done something, Arthur!
21:12Even Mr. Ratburn
21:13did something special this summer!
21:15He worked in Jack's joke shop!
21:20You don't want that trick!
21:21I don't?
21:22It's too easy!
21:23Now here is a challenge
21:25worthy of a true magician!
21:31It'll take a lot of practice!
21:34I wanted to give up,
21:36but I knew Ratburn
21:37wouldn't give me my money back
21:38if I quit!
21:39And eventually...
21:46Was your card the Nine of Clubs?
21:48Correct!
21:49Perfect!
21:50Like a real pro!
21:52It took all summer,
21:54but now I can do the trick
21:55better than Ratburn!
21:56Pick a card!
22:01Only two days left!
22:02I flunked summer!
22:04When school starts,
22:05I'll probably flunk recess, too!
22:07You can help dig the hole!
22:09That's something!
22:10I've been meaning to ask you
22:11all summer
22:12why you were digging this hole,
22:13and I didn't even do that!
22:15We're trying to dig to the Earth's core
22:17where there are minerals
22:18that can predict the future!
22:20My sister, Rubella, said so!
22:22Ow!
22:23We've been working on it for months!
22:25We're real close!
22:26I think!
22:27If they get near the Earth's core,
22:30the heat will melt their shovels!
22:31They can't make it!
22:32What did you do this summer?
22:34I was in summer school!
22:35But you're so smart!
22:37What did you have to learn?
22:38Oh, I didn't learn anything!
22:40I was teaching!
22:41Science and soccer!
22:42Want to launch the rocket?
22:44Arthur?
22:51You filled in the hole?
22:53Summer's over!
22:54We'll try again next year!
22:55Don't you feel like
22:56you've wasted your whole summer?
22:59No!
23:00It was fun!
23:02Everyone had a great time except me!
23:08I know I put that list somewhere
23:09for safekeeping!
23:16I found it!
23:17I found it!
23:19But it's too late!
23:21Summer's over!
23:25So that's all the great things
23:26you were going to do?
23:29What did it say?
23:30Have adventures!
23:31What a joke!
23:32I didn't have a single adventure!
23:34Especially not on the rainy days
23:35when all you did was
23:36sit around reading books!
23:43Whoa!
23:44We ride, D'Artagnan!
23:51All for one!
23:52And one for all!
23:55Faster, driver!
23:56They're gaining on us!
24:16Get out of here!
24:17He's waking up!
24:25I did have some adventures!
24:27Okay, but what's next on the list?
24:30Explore space!
24:32You sure didn't do that!
24:34Ready for liftoff?
24:35Conditions are go, go, go!
24:51Learn to fly!
24:55Yahoo!
25:02I did everything on this list!
25:04Thanks for asking me
25:05to read it, D.W.
25:08I was trying to make him
25:09feel rotten.
25:10He feels great.
25:11I'm a failure as a little sister.
25:15It's the last night of summer.
25:17Yep.
25:19There's a lot of places
25:20I'd like to see.
25:21And they're all just
25:22beyond that horizon.
25:25But there's no more time.
25:26School starts tomorrow.
25:28Yep.
25:29School's going to be relaxing
25:30after all the adventures
25:31I had this summer.
25:33Yep.
25:34Another marshmallow, anyone?
25:36Yep.
25:42And I say, hey!
25:43What a wonderful kind of day
25:46If you could learn to work and play
25:49And get along with each other
25:52You got to listen to your heart
25:54Listen to the beat
25:55Listen to the rhythm
25:56Rhythm of the street
25:58It's a simple message
26:00And it comes from the heart
26:03So believe in yourself
26:05For that's the place to start
26:08And I say, hey!
26:10What a wonderful kind of day
26:12If you could learn to work and play
26:15And get along with each other
26:18What a wonderful kind of day
26:21Hey!
