00:00Malaysia will enter into a RM10.7 billion leasing agreement with China to acquire an
00:28additional 62 passenger trains for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad, Transport Minister Lok
00:33Siu Fook said.
00:35Lok said the actual cost will be finalised after completion of negotiations with the
00:40government of China in the near future.
00:43He said he hopes the initiative will enhance the reliability of rail services and increase
00:47usage, which currently stands at 30%, while also managing the financial aspects of procuring
00:53the trainset.
00:54Meanwhile, Economy Minister Raffi Ziramli said a comprehensive plan was underway to
00:59enhance public transportation in Malaysia, with a special emphasis on improving connectivity
01:04in the Klang Valley.
