00:00In our news, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. awarded 22 Pinoy Olympians

00:07who showed courage and excellence in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

00:12The Office of the President awarded P50 million

00:17to the Pinoy Olympians along with the award of the Medal of Merit and Presidential Citations.

00:24President R. Marcos recognized the performance and sacrifice of the athletes

00:30in bringing the Philippine flag to the Paris Olympics.

00:34The President also thanked the coaches, trainers, nutritionists, families, and relatives

00:40of the Pinoy Olympians for their support and dedication to the athletes.

00:45The President awarded P20 million and the Presidential Medal of Merit

00:50to the double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

00:54P2 million for the bronze medalists, Naira Villegas and Nesty Petesho.

01:00While P1 million for all the other Pinoy Olympians

01:06and P500,000 for their coaching teams.

01:10President R. Marcos also reiterated his commitment

01:14for the improvement of sports in the Philippines

01:18by providing technical support from the government.

01:44that all of these athletes who have done so well and have made us so proud

01:50there's no official technical support from the government.

01:55They did it on their own.

01:56Of course, there is help. Sometimes the government can help.

02:00But there is no formal structure to help our athletes.

02:06And that's what we are going to establish now.
