00:00It's lovely to meet you, John, I don't think we've ever met before.
00:03Listen, you're really, really funny in this, but when I was watching it,
00:06I was just thinking you guys must have just had the most fun making this movie, right?
00:12It was, it was good. It's an action comedy and it's got great comedic minds attached to it and
00:18every day on set was just trying to out-joke everybody. So yes, it was a ton of fun to make.
00:22And honestly, my favourite thing in the world is bloopers. I love a blooper reel
00:27and I love the bloopers at the end. How many times did you mess up a take from laughing?
00:34Well, Paul Feig is a fantastic director. He's also inspired by the day and consistently writes
00:41jokes. He never stops. So he always comes in with new jokes and a lot of the times just listening
00:47to what he had going on in his mind would just crack us up. And once you crack on a take,
00:53it's no coming back. You're always breaking the take. So like I said, a lot of the days at work,
00:58we just made each other laugh and those are fun days.
01:01And Noel, he is what I would describe as a wee soul. We would say that in Scotland. He's,
01:07I love Noel. I stan Noel. What drew you to playing him?
01:12I think the whole script was a nice idea, taking the lottery in a different dystopian perspective
01:19and the whole tick and clock element. And this character who can keep a cool head through chaos
01:25and truly believes in the good in humanity when there doesn't seem to be much good to find.
01:30I thought that was a really different take.
01:33So one thing I was concerned about when I was watching this movie,
01:36I was concerned for your welfare because you're wearing a suit
01:39whilst doing all this action. And I know you're really smart again today,
01:43but obviously you're just sitting down, which is fine. How hard is it doing all that action in a suit?
01:48No, it was good. The suits were actually really good. And I was surprised. I voiced my concerns
01:54at the beginning that it might be an issue, but no, they had a bunch of suits made just in case,
01:58but I never think we destroyed one. I think we made it through with one.
02:02Well, listen, you look good in a suit. So I get it. I get the creative thinking behind this.
02:08Thank you so much.
02:10And listen, Aquafina's character, Katie, is sort of trying to get her big break
02:15in LA at the start of the movie. Did that kind of take you back to when you were first starting out
02:21in La La Land?
02:24You know, everybody's journey's different. I think especially what's nice about Jackpot is
02:31someone is trying to take a shot to hit it big. And you'll see in Jackpot when Nora's character,
02:38Katie Kim, hits it big, she immediately realises that this might not be for her.
02:43So I kind of like that take as well. And I think it makes for an interesting ride.
02:48But yeah, I don't know. Everyone's got their journey. And I really thought Nora did it.
02:55Aquafina did an amazing job with trying to go out and give it one chance in Hollywood and then
03:02scoring some notoriety along with billions of dollars and wanting to run away as fast as she
03:07could.
03:08Absolutely. And like you said, in a way, she kind of gets her big break in a roundabout
03:13sort of way at the end of it. Was there ever a moment in your career where you felt like
03:18you've made it now or you felt more comfortable? Like, right, I'm here.
03:22Actually, I'm here and I'm doing this.
03:25Uh, no, I try to be grateful for every opportunity. And I always think you're only as good as what
03:31you're doing in your next chances. So, um, I'm certainly very comfortable with who I am,
03:38but I wouldn't walk into the area of complacence. I don't, I always try to,
03:43I don't want to be complacent. So I try to take every day like it's my first.
03:48See, John, this is why we love you because we love getting the words of wisdom.
03:52You're always talking great words of wisdom.
03:55Thank you so much.
03:57Listen, thank you very much. And I hope you enjoy your suits going forward without
04:02having to do all the action.
04:04That's okay. I know they're built for it. So I'll be all right.
