00:00 Mr. Cena, lovely to see you as always, very well met, looking very sharp as we've come to expect.
00:05 We spoke a few years ago, you were telling me you were learning Mandarin, but you seem to be a man who's been more busy as the years go on and on.
00:12 Have you had any time for yourself anymore to be picking up new skills and things like that, or are you just full on at the moment?
00:17 Man, we always have time, it's just a matter of how we choose to spend it.
00:20 That's a very good point, a very good point indeed.
00:22 You're joining us here in London's Leicester Square, colourful carpet, one of our finest directors.
00:28 You were shooting another movie with Idris Elba around the corner from where I live last year.
00:33 Coming a bit of an Anglophile, you think? Are you feeling at home over here?
00:36 London is one of my favourite cities in the world.
00:39 That passion started for me with coming here and performing in front of crowds with WWE.
00:44 It's one of the most exciting, energetic audiences to be in front of.
00:47 And then you get out in the city and you realise that energy doesn't stop. I love this place.
00:51 Speaking of energy, you've been putting a lot of your focus on the film business and your acting career over the last few years,
00:57 playing lots of different, exciting roles. How is life for you at the moment?
01:01 This is another one, it seems like this is the kind of movie you can have a real blast on behind the scenes.
01:07 Behind the scenes and in front of the camera too.
01:10 You said a Matthew Vaughn universe is a wonderful thing.
01:13 This is one of the most talented, thorough, complete people involved with any production.
01:20 Not a frame is wasted and not a piece is out of place.
01:23 I'm just grateful to be part of that universe.
01:26 I'm here with Henry Cavill, one of the first people, maybe the first person I've seen in film to make Henry Cavill look small on screen.
01:33 What was that chemistry like?
01:35 I always operate under the construct of never being the smartest person in the room.
01:39 And when I get to perform across from Henry Cavill, that's a chance to sit under the learning tree.
01:44 And man, he has a gravity to him, no doubt. I hope this isn't the last one for the both of us.
01:50 You guys hit the gym together at all while you were out there?
01:53 He would wear me out.
01:54 I don't know.
01:55 I have a lot of gratitude for where I'm at, but I know when I'm punching above my weight class, he would wear me out.
02:05 I don't know, man. I'm sure there's some people who disagree with that.
02:07 And a quick word, I saw a lot of the excitement around Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stepping back into WWE.
02:14 I'm one of those excited folks, man.
02:16 I'm sure, but people are going to be looking at you as one of those great figureheads from that time period.
02:23 Over the last 20 years, there's a big new deal with Netflix.
02:26 Does that kind of get your-- I know you've talked about retirement.
02:28 Does that give you that kind of-- that little-- that flutter to step back in the ring again in one of those big events?
02:35 I haven't lost that flutter. You guys got to understand, when I talk about retirement, I'm strictly looking at the odometer.
02:41 You know, I'm like a fine classic car. I need about two and a half hours to warm up.
02:46 You can drive me for 30 minutes, and then you got to take me back to the shop and fix all the leaks.
02:52 I really-- hats off to Dwayne, who is now officially "The Rock." I think it's fantastic.
02:57 His business acumen has put him in another universe, on a planet by himself.
03:01 And that's why he's on the board, and that's why he's got his position with TKO.
03:06 Again, when I talk about retirement, I just look at the landscape of all the young superstars.
03:11 They're frigging great, and it's their time to shine.
03:13 And I know I'm feeling a little more bumps and bruises these days, so I just--
03:18 you know, existing in life with fulfillment, to me, is about long-term health.
03:22 I just want to make sure I keep this and this in the right place.
03:25 Well, you're certainly not showing those bumps and bruises, sir.
03:27 And just a quick word on what's going forward for you.
03:29 Espionage seems like quite a good look on you, and you told me once--
03:33 you told me once that you kind of know where your roles are, and you don't see yourself in a period piece or something like that.
03:40 But there's got to be a few different ideas floating around in that head of yours for the next two years.
03:45 What can we expect to see you on on the big screen?
03:47 Maybe I could do a period piece.
03:49 There's always a blacksmith in the village, right?
03:51 Yes, maybe a period piece. I've changed my mind.
03:54 Mate, the way you dress and the amount of time you spend in the UK, we could see you as a high lord of some sort.
04:00 No need to be a high lord. I'll just be a local at the pub, taking life one pint at a time.
04:04 Well, you're always welcome down mine, mate. Congratulations. Have a great night, and I look forward to seeing what you do next.
04:08 Thank you so much.
