Why do you store up your kindness for strangers
Merely passing through your life's stage
When I've been with you for decades

But all that's left for you to give me
Are venemous words and misplaced hatred
It's like we're playing pin the tail on the donkey
But instead of pinning your disappointment on the source
You pin it on me as if for safe keeping

My hands and heart are burning
From carrying your toxic burdens
Why does loving you mean I never get to see the you I love?\n\nAbigail Hauschild
