00:00Bangladesh is at a crossroads right now with Sheikh Hasina gone and the new interim government
00:05form. There is a lot churning in right now. People seem very charged up with the success
00:12of students' movement in dethroning Hasina. There are different protests and demonstrations
00:17happening across the country. On Saturday, we saw hundreds of students protesting against
00:22the judiciary. Minority communities also took to the streets in thousands against the attacks
00:29on their houses and businesses. Artists also protested against the attack on cultural centers.
00:36On Sunday, the families of the victims of forced disappearances under Sheikh Hasina
00:41also demonstrated. So, people are mobilizing themselves over different issues. This could be
00:48most probably because they are encouraged by the success of the students' movement. And secondly,
00:54rights activists say that there was no freedom of expression or speech under Sheikh Hasina. So,
01:00there is a surge in hope for reforms across state institutions. And there is a lot of pressure
01:08and expectation from the government of Muhammad Yunus.
