00:00Hello, Illawarra sports fans, Jordan Warren here from the Illawarra Mercury.
00:05Join as always on a Friday by my colleague, Agron Latifi.
00:07Agron, we're in the business end of the winter sports season, mate.
00:11Let's start with the Dragons.
00:12Obviously, unfortunately for Wollongong fans, they're in Congra tomorrow against the Bulldogs,
00:16but a massive game for the Red Vee nonetheless.
00:18Huge game.
00:19Huge game, obviously, against the Bulldogs.
00:22Massive game for the Dragons after a big win against Storm.
00:26And if they win, which they're hoping to do, they'll be in the A and they've got two games
00:31in Wollongong.
00:32So it's a huge game.
00:33It really is a must-win, I'd say.
00:35Yeah, 100%.
00:36Dragons looking to make the top eight for the first time since 2018, so that would be
00:40quite the achievement.
00:41And let's keep on the footy train, mate.
00:43Obviously, a couple of massive games with our local sides.
00:45We'll start with Group 7, Shell Arbor Sharks against Djeringham Lions at Ron Costello Oval.
00:50A ladder-leading game.
00:51You know, the winner can potentially claim the minor premiership.
00:54Definitely.
00:55If the Sharks win, they'll be minor premiers, there's no doubt about it.
00:58If Djeringham win, they've still got one more game to navigate, but either way, I think
01:04the winner of that game will be the minor premiers and get a much-needed week off, which
01:08coming into the finals is what they both want.
01:12Should be a cracker.
01:13Ron Costello Oval.
01:14Yeah, and it'll also be a cracking game at Thomas Gibson Park tomorrow between the Thoreau
01:17Butchers and De La Salle.
01:19Another ladder-leading game there.
01:20Also another big game in Illawarra League is West Devils against Dapdo Canaries.
01:24Of course, Dapdo just need to win, they've got two games left and they just have to win
01:28to make sure that they play semi-final football and they also have to hope results go their
01:32way.
01:33So a massive game for them.
01:34And then obviously in the football, that's hitting the business end as well.
01:37The Illawarra Premier League is a huge game at Macedonia Park-Berkeley on Saturday between
01:42Wollongong United and Albion Park.
01:43Of course, Albion Park beat Wollongong Olympic last week, so they're the new leaders in the
01:47Illawarra Premier League, but with four teams, four or five teams I should say, chasing the
01:50league championship title, it can change in a matter of just a couple of games.
01:54So yes, a massive game in the football world there.
01:58And then obviously, mate, we've got some other stuff going on.
02:00The Steelers, they've actually got a top-of-the-table clash as well.
02:04It's all top-of-the-table clashes against Wente Magpies.
02:06Talk me through that one.
02:07It's a huge game for the Steelers.
02:08They started the season for loss, but they've won four of a trot and Wente, they're undefeated,
02:14they've won five in a row.
02:16Should be a huge game for the Steelers, they've been playing really well.
02:21The fans are the chances.
02:22And also don't forget, the darts are back in Wollongong on Friday and Saturday night.
02:26Should be a massive crowd.
02:27Obviously it's a massive occasion for people dressing up and looking at the world's best
02:31dart players.
02:32So hopefully we'll see some good pictures from that tonight and Saturday.
