00:08The National Kidney and Transplant Institute of the Department of Health is now asking for additional nurses and doctors
00:13following the increase of cases of leptospirosis in the hospital.
00:17According to the NKTI, there are currently 48 patients confined in their hospital
00:23while there are 37 people undergoing hemodialysis.
00:27According to the NKTI, the number of cases of leptospirosis is increasing after a typhoon or a rainy season.
00:34However, there is a lack of manpower to support the patients.
00:39According to the Department of Health, from July 14 to July 27,
00:43there are already 67 cases of leptospirosis in the country.
00:47The DOH continues to remind those who have been exposed to severe flooding
00:51to immediately consult a doctor for prophylaxis.
00:57In other news, the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv warned the public
01:01that they have extended the pilot period for the Electronic Travel Authorization for Israel or ETA-IL system.
01:08According to the embassy, the pilot period that started on June 1, 2024,
01:12will be extended for five more months or until December 31, 2024.
01:16This means that from January 1, 2025, all nationals with visa-exempt countries,
01:23such as the Philippines, will need to obtain ETA-IL approval before they can go to Israel.
01:28ETA-IL systems can be applied using the link posted on their official Facebook page.
01:33If approved, they can stay in Israel for up to 10 days.
01:37Despite this, the Philippine Embassy in Israel still instructed the Filipinos
01:41to avoid traveling to their country due to security concerns.
01:48President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. thanked the U.S. Congressional Delegation
01:53for their continued support for the Philippines.
01:56According to the President, the strengthening alliance between the Philippines and the United States
