00:00It was recommended by a federal grand jury in Florida, in America,
00:04who is accused of bribery and money laundering,
00:07former COMELEC chairman Andy Bautista and three others.
00:10According to the U.S. Department of Justice,
00:13this is the first time that Bautista has been accused of
00:16buying vote counting machines in the 2016 election.
00:21He will face one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering
00:25and three counts of international laundering of monetary statements.
00:30The U.S. Justice Department did not charge Bautista with bribery
00:35but one of the other three accused is the co-founder of Smartmatic.
00:40Jimmy Integrated News is still trying to get Bautista's statement.
00:45In a post on X or former Twitter in September 2023,
00:49Bautista denied that he received or asked for bribery from Smartmatic
00:54or any company.
