New DTI chief to focus on digitalization of biz and trade sectors, MSME funding, franchising and mentoring

00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has mandated Department of Trade and Industry or DTI Acting

00:05Secretary Christina Roque to lead the digitalization of the business and trade sectors.

00:11During the Malacanang Insider Program, Secretary Roque revealed the President's focus

00:16on digital transformation as key for marketing products and services,

00:21noting the rise in online sellers during the pandemic.

00:25President Marcos Jr. also wants entrepreneurs, especially the micro,

00:30small and medium enterprises or MSMEs, to diversify their offerings,

00:34improve access to funding, and explore franchising opportunities.

00:55I'm going to check on them one by one. I mean, I have a group now. I set up a team.

01:02So that's what we'll do on a daily basis. And then we'll forward it to the different departments.
