00:00I'm trying to be okay, but I'm not okay because I have lost my parents all over again.
00:25It's been a while since Father Remy Monteverde passed away.
00:29Then, two days after, or maybe a day after, my mother passed away.
00:36I started with Regal Films when I was 14.
00:39We finished our contract when I was 26, so you can just imagine.
00:46Half of my teenage years were spent with Mother Lily Monteverde and Father, and the whole Monteverde family.
00:53So, I know that they would not mind if I say that the loss of my adopted brothers and sisters,
01:02namely, Meme, Rocelle, Dondon, Winnie, and Goldwyn,
01:09the loss of them is the same as the loss of me.
01:14I'm just trying to be okay, but really, I am not okay.
01:18I'm floating.
01:21It's like I have lost my parents all over again.
01:26I never expected for this to happen.
01:29What are your fondest memories of Mother Lily?
01:33Too many to mention.
01:35One that is striking is the time when I went into a deep depression.
01:42I went crazy all the time because I just had a breakup, a bad breakup with Albert Martinez at the time.
01:51Then, I was in a coma for one year.
01:54And then, Mother, almost every day, no exaggeration, she was outside my room.
02:03She was in our living room area.
02:05Sometimes, Mother would sleep there just for me to snap out of my depression.
02:12For one year, she would bring food.
02:15I will never forget Aunt Inday Badiday.
02:18Then, she would offer me to go to the States, to go to Hong Kong, just to get me out of that bulldrum.
02:28I'm so thankful, up to this moment and forever, that Mother is the God's weapon for me to survive.
02:38At that time, I never thought that I would survive.
02:42Because when you're young and you're in love, your first heartache, your first breakup, you feel like that's the end of your world.
02:49But Mother is also my true second mom who said,
02:53Fight. You can do this. Let's pray.
02:56She has always been like my mom, a second mother to me.
03:00What are the advice that you will never forget that she gave to you, that you applied in your life, that helped you a lot?
03:09Mother's advice, Mother with all her, you know, Mother's craziness to make her happy, crazy.
03:20She has a very serious side and what Mother taught me,
03:25First of all, she used to scold me when I was young, when I was being, I'm sorry to say, but when I was being a bit unprofessional.
03:33That's what Mother taught me.
03:36Love your job, be professional in what you do and it will love you back.
03:42Second, Mother, she has also been instrumental in molding me as a better spirit, as a better Christian.
03:53Because the other day in Regal Films, we had a Regal Community, Charismatic Community, and she founded that.
04:03I don't know if there are a lot of people, but we had a Regal Charismatic Community.
04:09So, that's a lot. She is a typical mother to all of us.
04:14For me, it's Mother, of course, we know who she is, Mariciel Soriano, Dina, Aiko, Janice, Nadia, Gretchen, and the list goes on and on.
04:27She became a lot of children.
04:30What do you wish for the showbiz community now that, of course, an icon is gone?
04:35I'm crying because of the question. I feel that, well, my advice is that we should continue Mother's legacy.
04:47And let's not forget the contribution that Mother Lily made in the industry.
04:54She's a big loss. We can't go back to the glory days of Regal Films.
05:03For me, maybe I'm being biased, but she's just alone.
05:07So, maybe the least that we can do is to try to live up to that flair, that Regal magic that is unexplainable.
05:21The stars are stars. The movies are magnum opuses.
05:33And Mother is one of those who really loves and is concerned about what will happen in the industry, in my opinion.
05:44Contrary to what some people think, in my personal experience, we're not alone.
05:52Our relationship went beyond that. I'm her worker, she's my producer.
05:59Even when we say that my career went down, I lost everything, I got tired, I went through some dark times in my life,
06:09but Mother's perspective on me didn't change.
06:12And maybe that's what our new producers should emulate.
06:18Don't lose your heart. At the end of it all, we're not here in the industry just for the money.
06:28No, we're here above all else to love each other, to help one another up, to lift one another up.
06:36And to do the best we can to make this industry survive.
06:41Mother didn't stop producing.
06:44Rusell is still there, Don is still there, and other people that Mother Lily trusts.
06:52For our industry, we know that it could be a dying industry, but thanks to Regal, it's still afloat.
07:00I hope it continues. Let's not give this up.
07:04Because it's such a waste.
07:06Let's love the Filipino film industry.
