00:00It was so interesting last night that Kamala Harris really focused on him as a coach.
00:09And it's almost like she's saying that that is a leadership position that translates.
00:14So you're the guy who was coached by him.
00:17Tell us how it translates.
00:18Yeah, it absolutely translates.
00:21The speech last night reminded me like we were down by six going into the fourth quarter
00:26and he's giving us a speech to rile us up before we go out there and try to beat whoever
00:32it is.
00:33So when I hear those speeches, it really, really reminds me of Coach Walz.
00:37Tim was a great relatable coach.
00:39Our head coach, a guy by the name of Rick Sutton, he was a real hard, he was a hard
00:46ASS.
00:48And Tim was the nice guy.
00:49Tim was the guy who was always doing kind of a good cop, bad cop routine.
00:53And Tim was a good coach.
00:54So if you had an issue, you'd want to take it to Tim, Coach Walz first before you take
00:58it to Rick.
00:59And he'd give you a good idea of whether or not you should bring this to Rick.
01:04What are the qualities that you saw as a student and as a player that translate for you where
01:10you say, I get why she picked him?
01:12You know, one of the things in the classroom, I had him in 11th grade geography, is he always
01:16brought kids in.
01:17He'd never go to the front of the classroom and just give a lecture.
01:20He got everybody involved.
01:22And he was one of those teachers where you weren't, you wanted to do well, not because
01:26you were afraid of a bad grade, but you wanted to do well because he really motivated you.
01:30He made you want to do a good job.
01:33What kind of vice president do you think he's going to be?
01:35I think he's going to be a great vice president.
01:37You know, it's somebody, he's a great messenger.
01:40Anytime you see him, even when he was a congressman, a governor, every time that you'd bump into
01:44him, just like at a coffee shop or something, or a bagel shop, I remember, it was never
01:49really about politics.
01:50You talk to him and he just talks to you as a human being.
01:52He's always asking, how's your family doing?
01:55And oftentimes when you see people reach that level of success, they almost become kind
02:00of larger than life.
02:01And he's never really done that.
02:03He's always really stayed humble and kind of stayed toward his roots in West Mankato.
