00:00As-salamu alaykum friends, 29th of May 1925,
00:05a British explorer named Percy Fawcett goes in search of a city in the Amazon rainforest
00:11which is said to be made of gold.
00:15This dangerous rainforest spread over 70 lakh square kilometers is the largest rainforest in the world.
00:22That day, Percy Fawcett leaves his camp but never returns.
00:28What would be the reason for his disappearance?
00:31This is the biggest mystery to date.
00:33Apart from this mystery, there are many other mysteries about which we will talk in today's video.
00:38So let's start the video.
00:44This rainforest spread over 70 lakh square kilometers is the largest rainforest in the world.
00:49Just as humans could not explore a large part of the ocean,
00:53in the same way, a large part of this rainforest is still far from the reach of humans.
00:58New species are explored on a daily basis in this rainforest,
01:03but only 10% of the plants, animals and microbes that still live here have been identified.
01:10There are 400 billion trees in the Amazon rainforest,
01:14which is why this forest is also called the lungs of the earth.
01:18Because 20% of the oxygen in the world is released by this forest.
01:24According to an estimate, there are about 200,000 people living in the Amazon rainforest,
01:30who have no connection to the outside world.
01:33There are many mysteries of this Amazon rainforest,
01:36some of which have been solved, but there are still some mysteries that are beyond science.
01:43First of all, let's talk about the city of gold,
01:47because it is the biggest mystery of the Amazon rainforest so far,
01:51which is called El Dorado.
01:53It is said that there used to be a city here that was made up of gold,
01:59and the king there bathed daily in the powder of that gold and spilled that gold in the Amazon river.
02:06In the 16th century, when the Europeans came up with a plan to occupy the Amazon forest,
02:11they faced the local people of the Amazon, who had settled their cities there.
02:17Those Europeans occupied those cities and found out about El Dorado at the end of the 16th century.
02:24When they found out about El Dorado that there is a city of gold,
02:29those Europeans started looking for El Dorado.
02:33After exploring the entire Amazon forest, they did find small tribes and gold there,
02:39but El Dorado was not found.
02:41This search continued for 200 years, but when El Dorado was not found,
02:46El Dorado was declared a myth.
02:49After this, in the 19th century, a British explorer, Percy Fawcett,
02:53decided to search for El Dorado again.
02:57He did a total of 8 expeditions in the Amazon forest, but still El Dorado was not found.
03:04On 29 May 1925, when he went for exploring, he never returned.
03:11He was searched for many months, but neither Percy Fawcett nor his dead body was found.
03:18According to the scientific community, this place is not suitable for humans to live.
03:23But as exploration progressed with technology, such evidence began to be found,
03:28which proves that people had settled entire cities there.
03:33There are people in the Amazon forest who have not even seen the outside world,
03:38and even anthropologists do not know how these people live in the jungle.
03:45One of them is known as the Pripkura tribe, and thousands of people used to live in this tribe,
03:51but now only 15-20 people are alive.
03:54People learned about this tribe only after 1998,
03:59when they first came into contact with the outside world.
04:03When anthropologists talked to them, they found out that their tribe used to be very strong before.
04:10But some occupying mafias killed almost everyone in their tribe for mining,
04:16and now only a few people were left alive.
04:19It is not known how many such tribes will live in this Amazon forest,
04:23and no one has ever known where they came from and how they came.
04:28Historians have not known for centuries where these people came from.
04:33But in 2017, it was found that some paintings were made on the mountain of Colombia.
04:39When that painting was excavated 13 km below to understand,
04:43it was found that there are many paintings here, which are 12,000 years old,
04:48when the last of the Ice Age was going on.
04:50Because in those paintings, some such animal paintings were also found,
04:54which were found only in the Ice Age.
04:56So that's all for today's video.
04:58Do tell us in the comment section how you liked the video.
05:01We will meet again with a new video.
05:03Till then take care of yourself.
05:05Allah Hafiz.
