00:06assured the agency will continue to take steps to mitigate the effects of climate change
00:11and other environmental issues for the welfare of Filipinos.
00:15This joined the House Committee on Appropriations budget hearing earlier today.
00:20The DENR under the 2025 National Expenditure Program has a budget allocation of more than
00:2626 billion pesos.
00:29For her part, Secretary Yulo-Loyzaga said one of the agency's focus for next year is
00:33on enhanced biodiversity conservation, Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program, and Intensified
00:40Forest Protection and Anti-Illegal Logging Program.
01:00Mr. Chair, while the funding are available to clean up rivers, creeks, and systems of
01:07garbage, there is a problem with the informal settlers there.
01:11So, we need to really address the source of the problem.
01:15We need to identify sites for these informal settlers because most of the source of the
01:20garbage in the rivers and estuaries are the informal settlers alone, residing alone in
01:26this river system.
01:27It is very difficult.
