00:00I think any increase in charge from something that's been free before is always a shock
00:04and you're always a little bit apprehensive to pay it and a little bit like, you know,
00:10where's that money going, what's it doing? But I don't think it's astronomical. I think
00:15people will still come and as long as the money's being used for maintenance of the places that
00:20we're going then I can't see it being that much of an issue paying it, to be honest.
00:23I think it's absolutely scandalous, to be honest. I live in Bramhook, this is my local park.
00:33I walk every morning, 365 days a year. Coming here, I can't walk from where I do live,
00:42it's just the far side of the roundabout. That's going to cost me £500 a year
00:46and I only come for an hour, half an hour or an hour. So basically they're taking
00:56something away from me so I won't come. It's everybody's park, it's not the council's park,
01:01it's our park. They seem to have forgotten that. I think it's inevitable. Local councils
01:09have had their money strapped for years and years so they need to make money
01:13and so it's going to happen. It's unfortunate but that's just the way it is.
01:19I think generally it's a bad idea because I think it will stop some people from coming.
01:25Most people would be able to, a lot of people would be able to, but of course we want families
01:30to come with children and of course there's a cost of living crisis and anything that adds to that
01:38is not good. I suppose what I'm saying is generally no, I'm not in favour.
01:42I think it's fair enough that people are charged for parking. £1 for an hour doesn't sound too
01:47much to me. People who can afford to have a car and come up here anyway, it's probably not going
01:53to make a big difference. I think if it helps the upkeep of the park or other social services,
01:58that's fine.
