00:00Welcome back everyone.
00:08It is Amelia.
00:09I hope you are fine.
00:10Reina discovers there is a wild dragon living in the Vale of Arryn in House of the Dragons
00:15Season 2, which is a major departure for George RR Martin's Fire and Blood book.
00:20Unsurprisingly, given its moniker, the Dance of the Dragons features the deaths of numerous
00:25dragons and dragonriders, causing major issues for both sides as dragons become the war's
00:30most powerful weapon.
00:32However, as Rhaenyra and Jaeserys discuss in House of the Dragons Season 2, Episode
00:375's ending, there are still several unclaimed and wild dragons in Westeros that could be
00:42bonded with a rider.
00:44After Seasmoke is claimed by Adham of Hull in House of the Dragons Season 2, Episode
00:496, two huge Dragonstone dragons remain unclaimed, Vermitha and Silverwing.
00:54In addition to these Targaryen dragons, there are a few more wild dragons who have never
00:58been claimed before.
01:00Rhaena Targaryen discovers one of these wild dragons is in the Vale, with Jaenay Arryn
01:05revealing he is large and formidable and has been burning sheep for food in the area.
01:09While the show has yet to confirm its name, Fire and Blood hints at the real identity
01:14of the Vale's wild dragon.
01:16In George RR Martin's Fire and Blood book, there are three known wild dragons roaming
01:21Dragonstone.
01:22Grey Ghost, the Cannibal, and Sheepstealer.
01:25While Grey Ghost and the Cannibal may still play a role at Dragonstone, it seems that
01:29House of the Dragon has moved Sheepstealer to the Vale.
01:32House of the Dragon Season 2 shows this dragon burning and eating flocks of sheep in the
01:37Vale, thus inspiring Sheepstealer's name.
01:39Thus, Sheepstealer is the only wild dragon who is claimed by a dragonrider in Fire and
01:44Blood, which all but confirms that he is Season 2.
01:48Part 6 Wild Vale Dragon It's unclear how the wild dragon has roamed
01:52around the Vale without anyone having alerted the Targaryens, as Sheepstealer was claimed
01:57back on Dragonstone in the book.
01:59However, it's now no wonder as to why Jaenay Arryn agreed to protect and host Rhaenyra's
02:04young children and Daemon's daughter, as she was likely eager to find a rider for Sheepstealer
02:10at the Eyrie.
02:11Fire and Blood reveals that Sheepstealer's large size is comparative to Caraxes, Melys,
02:17and Seasmoke, which would make the dragon a massive asset in the war if he could successfully
02:22be claimed.
02:23After Queen Rhaenyra dies and King Aegon to Targaryen takes King's Landing back, he hears
02:28reports about Nettles and Sheepstealer being sighted in the Vale of Arryn.
02:32Mountain Clans even tell stories about Fire Witch, who lived in the Vale with her dragon,
02:37suggesting the two may have hidden there after the war.
02:40Since there's no conclusive record of when or how Sheepstealer dies in Fire and Blood,
02:45it is hoped that House of the Dragon will finally be able to solve this mystery.
