00:00Mhm. Hi everybody. I'm B
00:05forbes breaking news. Joi
00:07senior director at Accu e
00:09Dan, thank you so much fo
00:11to be here with you, Britt
00:13about some big news comin
00:15made landfall as a catego
00:18on monday morning. Since
00:21to a tropical storm. But
00:23to know? So Debbie made l
00:27the category one hurrican
00:30from Debbie will be signi
00:33perhaps a historic floodi
00:36of South Carolina and nor
00:38the wind was an issue nea
00:41landfall along with a sig
00:43But the main story going
00:45the entire course of this
00:48what could be an historic
00:50with over 15 inches of ra
00:54Savannah. Some of the low
00:57Carolina is going to be i
00:59over a long period of tim
01:01to be expected to cause l
01:03flooding. You're mentioni
01:06in South Carolina and Geo
01:09the worst of Debbie so fa
01:12a lot of rain from Debbie
01:14rain is starting to wind
01:16we head through monday, e
01:17are going to be lingering
01:19problems. Tampa and the s
01:22up a record amount of rai
01:24as the bands from Debbie
01:26inches in some spots, whi
01:28to flooding. And that's w
01:30north into the panhandle
01:32of florida there where th
01:33a foot of rain. The good
01:35florida is that the impac
01:37wind down and now we're g
01:40into the Carolinas. It do
01:43storm since it made landf
01:45will continue to weaken a
01:49Certainly when it comes t
01:51looks like it's over, but
01:53uh to not let our guard d
01:56fact that in fact, unfort
01:59or the most fatal aspect
02:03is flooding and we expect
02:06though Debbie is a tropic
02:08the ways that act whether
02:09the tropical storms from
02:12storms is the actual weat
02:14scale for hurricanes. And
02:16a three on that scale, wh
02:18than one and then 1-5. So
02:20impactful storm. We expec
02:23flooding when we rate a s
02:26scale. And so even though
02:28has subsided from Debbie,
02:31that the flooding is going
02:33here for at least the nex
02:35As you said, Debbie's mov
02:38as well as South Carolina
02:41can those residents uh be
02:44that impact? So we expect
02:47a long lasting impact rea
02:51Tuesday, Wednesday and in
02:53thursday as well as Debbie
02:57the coast. It may go back
02:59and then make a second la
03:01expect that landfall to h
03:03amount of wind with it, b
03:05some strong winds very cl
03:07landfall. Again though, th
03:08to take three or four day
03:11the florida panhandle to n
03:13concerning and that's the
03:16rainfall is going to be th
03:19impact from Debbie. Can y
03:21why the slow moving storm
03:24more? Yeah, absolutely. U
03:29that again. Absolutely, B
03:33that the slow movement of
03:35history, unfortunately, o
03:37that are slow moving, caus
03:40some cases catastrophic f
03:42of the Carolinas are unfo
03:44with Florence in 2018, wh
03:46from amount of rainfall f
03:49both in South Carolina an
03:51may get close to those to
03:53the order of two ft of ra
03:56some places. So anytime y
03:58with a lot of moisture, w
03:59in a tropical system, the
04:02for for flooding and we m
04:06farther north into the mi
04:08the northeast come this w
04:10rain from what is Debbie
04:13direction later on this w
04:15for people who are perhap
04:18in South Carolina on vaca
04:21year round, but they're f
04:23tropical storm Debbie in
04:26Absolutely. So the impact
04:29couple of days will obvio
04:30one to those who are eith
04:33in the Carolinas. If you,
04:35who you are, please pay a
04:37heat all evacuation order
04:40living in a location or i
04:42there, know your differen
04:45routes, how much sort of
04:48of flooding and what type
04:52be an impact to you. Ther
04:53between storm surge flood
04:54coast where there can be
04:56surge where that ocean ri
04:59the significant push of w
05:02associated with tropical
05:03there's the combination o
05:05called freshwater floodin
05:07raining very heavily for
05:09And in places like Charle
05:12doesn't take a lot of rai
05:14a tropical system, they'v
05:16flooding in recent years
05:19And because they're close
05:21it's hard for the water t
05:23the ocean because of the
05:25in the ocean is already h
05:27surge. That's another rea
05:29between ocean flooding an
05:32That's another reason why
05:33are so concerned about th
05:35the Carolinas. I know you
05:37northeast, we'll see some
05:40does that look like? Is t
05:42the historic nature that
05:45are going to see? So at t
05:47we don't expect it to be
05:49the northeast, but there
05:52probably saturday or mayb
05:55across the mid atlantic a
05:56as we mentioned, will be
05:58by friday, it should start
06:00speed and move off to the
06:03go back offshore, but it
06:05interact with a different
06:07the Great Lakes and that
06:09impressive swath of rain
06:12the mid atlantic northeast
06:13like pennsylvania, Maryla
06:16New York City up into, up
06:18England. And we could be
06:20maybe 234 inches of rain,
06:22to cause pockets of flood
06:25areas might deal with som
06:28wing, sort of like a nore
06:30So we have to keep a close
06:32week here and we'll be do
06:33throughout the week, keep
06:35just on the historic flood
06:37the Carolinas, but the ev
06:39northeast. Dan, I want to
06:41just a little bit. Is the
06:43your radar when it comes
06:45season? So it's as Accuo
06:48really since march, we ex
06:51a supercharged hurricane
06:55or more named storms. We'
06:58seen four. We are still v
07:00hurricane season. We are
07:03The peak of the season is
07:05of september. So we have
07:08we do see plenty of more
07:10on the horizon. There's a
07:12moving into the caribbean
07:14could develop as it appro
07:16caribbean and maybe moves
07:17mexico come either late t
07:20weekend. So we'll have to
07:22It looks like there's ano
07:23behind it. So we have cer
07:25of the season now after a
07:27four week low and most of
07:29plenty to talk about here
07:31Dan to pod. When? Thank y
07:34weather. We always apprec
07:37we have with your team. I
