Mas kakaunting text scams, naobserbahan ni Sen. Poe pagkatapos ng deklarasyon ng total POGO ban; pagsasabatas sa POGO ban, iginiit na ilang senador
Transcript
00:00As a result, a senator noticed that the number of tech scams decreased after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive of a total POGO ban.
00:10Some lawmakers also insisted that there should be a law to completely remove POGO.
00:15Daniel Manalas was at the center of the news.
00:20After President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s sona, Senator Grace Poe was observed in front of the tech scams.
00:28This was followed by President R. Marcos Jr.'s declaration that POGOs in the country are now banned.
00:33From that time on, actually a little before that time until the present,
00:39if you will notice, there are not many tech scams on you now.
00:45You won a jackpot like this or your package needs to be redeemed.
00:53So it just means that there is a lot of information of those who operate illegal POGOs in our country.
01:03At times, there were also discussions with the authorities of the POGO hubs,
01:08which the court believed were illegal activities, according to the senator.
01:13That's why, maybe there is a correlation between those scammers and those that were raided just recently.
01:22So the President's words that legal and illegal POGOs are no longer allowed somehow made a big impact,
01:30at least when it comes to these scams that we are receiving.
01:35But the senators believe that the fight is not yet over.
01:38The ban on POGOs must be passed by law so that it can be repealed.
01:44So I think it will be also wise for us to have legislation to finally pass the banning,
01:55to finally make it in writing, make it a law that no legal or illegal POGOs will be allowed
02:02and other online platforms that will be harmful to our countrymen.
02:10We need to act on it so that even the next administration
02:14will no longer entertain the idea of bringing POGOs back in our beloved nation.
02:19Senator Riza Hontiveros said,
02:22Just cancel the PADCOR, the licenses that they issued to POGOs as a warning,
02:30as a follow-up to the President's order to ban POGOs.
02:36The assets and other resources that were confiscated by the POGOs
02:43can be used by the government for the rehabilitation of victim-survivors
02:50of human trafficking, cyber-scamming, violation of human rights of the POGO workers.
02:58As of now, there is a bill in the Senate to ban POGOs.
03:02Daniel Manalastas for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
