00:00Good morning, Kapusok. How are you doing this morning?
00:04We are live this morning with Chris Perez, Assistant Weather Services Chief of PAGASA.
00:09Good morning, Sir Chris.
00:11Good morning, Andio, and to all our viewers.
00:14Sir Chris, where is the low-pressure area that we are monitoring inside the Philippine Air Responsibility?
00:19Andio, earlier this morning, around 4 o'clock,
00:22the low-pressure area is located 835 kilometers east-northeast of the extreme northern zone.
00:29Although there is a slight chance that it will erupt within the next 24 to 48 hours,
00:33we will continue to monitor it because, in some ways,
00:36this low-pressure area, which is a very large low-pressure area outside of PAGASA,
00:40is continuing to influence the south,
00:42which is immediately affecting some parts of our country,
00:45particularly in the provinces that are in the northern part of the zone and in Visayas.
00:49Sir Chris, aside from the low-pressure area that we are monitoring,
00:53is there anything else that you are monitoring?
00:57Well, inside PAR ANGIO, this low-pressure area is the only weather system,
01:02aside from Habagat, which is affecting the western section of our country.
01:06Outside of our PAR, we can see cloud clusters,
01:09but it is very far and there is no direct effect on any part of our country.
01:14But we are not ruling out the possibility that this low-pressure area in the southern part of Japan
01:20will influence the movement of this low-pressure area inside our PAR.
01:25So, we are continuously monitoring here in PAGASA regarding these different weather systems.
01:30Sir Chris, this is also a question that I would like to ask our fellow citizens.
01:33Do we have an estimation of how many typhoons will be formed this month of August?
01:38Well, we are expecting 2 to 3 typhoons this month of August.
01:42Usually, the 2nd of every year, for our countrymen,
01:47is the peak season of tropical cyclone activity here in our country.
01:52So, our advice, especially when we are monitoring weather systems,
01:57to our countrymen is to continuously monitor the updates of PAGASA
02:00through our public weather forecast or through the weather advisories that we are issuing.
02:06Last question, Sir Chris, what are the weather systems that will make us rain here in our country today?
02:11Well, we are expecting, aside from the possibility of a typhoon,
02:16a typhoon that will either pass through or spread to the seas around us,
02:21the rain will continue to fall in some parts of our country.
02:25And we're not ruling out the localized thunderstorms, low-pressures,
02:29that can affect some parts of our country.
02:32So, there will be a variety or many weather systems that we are expecting to affect the country
02:37during the 2nd half of this year.
02:39In the last quarter, it is possible that the Amian or the Northeast Monsoon will arrive.
02:44Good morning and thank you very much, Sir Chris Perez, Assistant Weather Services Chief of PAGASA.
02:50Good morning to all of you.
