00:00:00Good morning. Happy Monday. Welcome to Wake Up America. It is August 5th. I'm Sharla
00:00:16McBride. And I'm John Glasgow. And for Raw Affinity today, we are entering the final
00:00:19hours of when we could find out who Vice President Kamala Harris picks. I mean, sometime in the
00:00:24next 24 hours, I think. It's got to happen. She keeps teasing it. I think it's going to
00:00:28happen today. But, you know, the longer she waits, the more we have to talk about her
00:00:31pick for VP through an online message to supporters before a rally in Philadelphia tomorrow. So
00:00:36Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, atop that list, was raised in Montgomery County.
00:00:41That's just north of Philly. Not saying he's the guy, but it would make sense. Kamala did
00:00:45meet with three finalists for VP yesterday at her home in D.C. Her selection will kick
00:00:50off a highly anticipated new phase of the campaign against former President Trump and
00:00:55Also, Donald Trump continues his attack on Kamala Harris, his track record during a rally
00:01:01in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend, reminding people what four more years of Kamala in the
00:01:06White House would look like. Take a listen to this.
00:01:09With four more years of Kamala, the California socialist, you know, she destroyed San Francisco.
00:01:15Then she destroyed the whole state. Look at what's going on in California. With your family
00:01:21and our country, it'll never recover. If you have any more time with these people,
00:01:26it's already I'm worried about the next three months. You think about it.
00:01:33And a lot of voters are as well. According to a new CBS poll, the race between Harris
00:01:37and Trump is tight as we're just 92 days away from Election Day.
00:01:42And President Biden and his national security team will meet in the Situation Room today
00:01:46ahead of anticipated Iranian and Hezbollah attacks against Israel as tensions escalate
00:01:51in the Middle East. We will have a live report from Israel coming up. But first, we head
00:01:56back to Georgia where our own Mike Carter caught up with vice presidential candidate
00:02:00J.D. Vance this weekend to break down Vice President Kamala Harris's track record and
00:02:05how the Trump Vance campaign plans to go after the current VP in the next three months.
00:02:11Here now with Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance. Senator Vance, it's
00:02:15been two weeks since President Biden dropped out of this presidential race. In that time,
00:02:19Kamala Harris has taken over as the nominee of the Democrat Party now officially after
00:02:23this weekend. She hasn't done any interviews, though. She's been avoiding the press. A lot
00:02:27of people saying she's running the basement campaign Joe Biden ran in 2020. How does the
00:02:32Trump Vance campaign re strategize how to go after a candidate that simply won't talk
00:02:36to the media?
00:02:37Yeah, I think the first thing is, look, we just have to tell the truth, right? The truth
00:02:39is she is the architect of the failed border policies. She's the architect of the policies
00:02:44that sent grocery prices and housing prices through the roof. She owns every one of Joe
00:02:48Biden's failures. And I think that we have to make this race about if you give Kamala
00:02:52Harris a promotion, she's going to continue and in fact, double down on some of the most
00:02:56left wing policies that have failed the country and failed to deliver prosperity for our citizens.
00:03:00Now, that's an easy argument for us to make. We just have to pound the pavement over the
00:03:04next 93 days and make sure the American people know the basic truth. Now, there's another
00:03:08important truth, of course, which is that Donald Trump did deliver peace and prosperity
00:03:11when he was president United States. So it's a really easy contrast here. But you're right.
00:03:16Kamala Harris is avoiding the media. I think the media, by the way, not you guys, of course,
00:03:20but they should be ashamed of themselves because she won't answer a question. I think she gave
00:03:24one unscripted answer to a question a day ago, and it was so embarrassing that they
00:03:29stuck her in the basement again. But that's not a good thing for the American people to
00:03:33have a presidential candidate who doesn't talk to them and doesn't actually answer some
00:03:36tough questions.
00:03:37She will need a VP pick. She will finalize that this weekend, we think. We're in a swing
00:03:42state, Georgia, another swing state, Pennsylvania. A lot of people think it's going to be the
00:03:46governor of that state, Josh Shapiro. Now you've called him. Essentially, he has a bad
00:03:50impression of Barack Obama. Now he's fired back at you saying you are the most inorganic
00:03:55candidate he's ever seen on the national stage. He's called you a phony baloney. His answer,
00:04:00not mine. What do you say to the governor of Pennsylvania? You might see on a debate
00:04:03stage in not too long.
00:04:04Look, I think the phony candidate in this race is Kamala Harris, who has changed her
00:04:08mind on every single issue she's held for the last four years. She said she wanted to
00:04:12ban fracking. Now she says she doesn't, of course, because it's politically unpopular.
00:04:16She said she wanted to fund the police. Now she's running away from that. The phoniness
00:04:19here is at the top of the Democratic ticket. And no matter how much these guys try to run
00:04:23from Kamala Harris's record, the policy record is a failure. And she's fundamentally a fake
00:04:28person who doesn't have any beliefs. That's why she won't answer any tough questions.
00:04:31I think the difference between Kamala Harris and me and Donald Trump is we will go anywhere.
00:04:36You saw it with the president at the National Association of Black Journalists. We will
00:04:40answer any question because we think the American people agree or disagree. They deserve to
00:04:44have their leaders actually talk to them and talk about why they think they're better leaders
00:04:48for the country.
00:04:49All right, Mike Carter. Yeah, good stuff right there. So Democratic nominee Kamala Harris
00:04:55has reset the race for Democrats against former President Donald Trump. And according to a
00:04:59new CBS poll, the two are tied in battleground states. Trump held a rally in Sweeney State,
00:05:04Georgia, over the weekend, continuing to question Harris's track record and request for a new
00:05:09debate.
00:05:13They were very fair, actually. CNN, shockingly, honestly, they were very fair. They want to
00:05:18do another one. You know, we're doing one with Fox. If she shows up, I don't think she's
00:05:22going to go. She can't talk. She can read a teleprompter. I'd give her about a six on
00:05:28a scale of 10, six. For talking, I'd give her less than a one.
00:05:33That's pretty funny. All right. For some more reaction, let's welcome in former Pennsylvania
00:05:42senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Great to see you. Happy Monday. Senator Harris
00:05:47is up by one point on Trump nationally here in this new CBS poll. The honeymoon phase,
00:05:52it continues here for Harris. But do you see this actually lasting towards Election Day?
00:05:57I mean, we still have another three months here before the election. What are you expecting?
00:06:03Certainly from her perspective, she's going to continue to do what's what's worked for
00:06:07her, which is not, as J.D. Vance laid out very clearly, to not talk to the media, have
00:06:11the media continue to shill for her and tell tell the world what a great candidate she
00:06:15is. She's going to have a lot of money. She's raised over three hundred million dollars
00:06:18in a very short period of time. So it's a it's pretty impressive so far what she's doing.
00:06:24A very disciplined. I don't think hopefully at some point the pressure from the public
00:06:30and maybe polls showing her decline because they're not she's not presenting herself
00:06:36to the American public will have an impact on the campaign. But between now and the convention,
00:06:41my guess is her numbers are going to continue to be very strong.
00:06:43Yeah, I think you're right. And I know that's concerning for many Republicans. So part of
00:06:47the CBS poll in it, Democrats who say they'll definitely vote, the number has risen to the
00:06:52highest point yet. So you're seeing Democrats are obviously more excited, Senator, about
00:06:57Kamala than they were Biden. So now we're seeing the numbers of those that plan to go
00:07:01to the polls in November rising. Should Republicans be concerned? And how does the Trump Vance
00:07:06campaign kind of shift its focus to really hammer home her record? Because that's what
00:07:11matters here. Yeah, they should be concerned. And again,
00:07:16I agree, it's not necessarily a bump for Kamala. It's more of a bump that relieved that Joe
00:07:21Biden is no longer on the ticket. And now they have someone who's sentient who can who
00:07:26can communicate a message effectively through a teleprompter, which Joe Biden couldn't even
00:07:31do. So so there is that that that energy. And to contrast that, you're right, the Trump
00:07:38campaign has to do something to blunt this. Just the interview that that J.D. did with
00:07:43Mike Carter, I thought was was excellent. I mean, I feel that they are now he got a
00:07:49question about the vice president, which was the typical response from a politician
00:07:54would be to answer the question about the vice president. But he didn't. He didn't talk
00:07:58about Josh Superior. He talked about Kamala Harris. And that's every question that you
00:08:03have to go back to. Well, Kamala Harris is not competent. Kamala Harris is an extremist.
00:08:08The only problem I have with with Vance's interview was she said, you know, she doesn't
00:08:13believe in anything. I think she does believe in something. She's very much an avowed leftist.
00:08:19She's she's a she's a Marxist and has more extreme positions than than Joe Biden had.
00:08:26And even you could say to the left of Bernie Sanders, I don't think saying she I would
00:08:30say, you know, the fact that she's flip flopping is not because she doesn't know what she believes.
00:08:35She knows that she can't win with the position she has. So she's she's making the calculation
00:08:40she has to change. It's not because she doesn't believe in things. It's because she does believe
00:08:44in things that the American public won't vote for.
00:08:47One thing I like with Vance is he always says they have to own these policies. Kamala Harris
00:08:51has to own Biden's policies. I mean, she was part of this administration. Doesn't matter
00:08:55how much they try to rewrite her name and her history. She owns these policies of the
00:08:59Biden administration. So, Senator, in the same poll, though, 74 percent of black voters
00:09:04say that they would vote in the presidential election back on July 18th. Only 58 percent
00:09:09say that they were going to vote. Should the Trump campaign be worried about this after
00:09:13gaining ground on black and Latino voters when Biden was the nominee?
00:09:17Yes. And you have to go after that vote in a way that that I think is very powerful for
00:09:24Donald Trump, which is to talk about the success that African-Americans had under the Trump
00:09:29administration and how they've done much more poorly under the Biden-Harris administration.
00:09:34Again, stick to the policy. His comment at the black journalists about her being Indian,
00:09:39I think, was just a misfire. I don't think you're going to you're going to play racial
00:09:45politics and win. The Democrats play racial politics. Republicans don't play racial politics.
00:09:51It doesn't work for us as a Republican. You have to stick to the issues that the people
00:09:58care about. And particularly now, as we look like we may be heading toward a recession,
00:10:03the markets are exploding right now. The European markets are down like 12 percent. I mean,
00:10:10there's a there's a lot going on that that's going to create some economic uncertainty
00:10:14in this country. And again, stick to the facts, stick to what what Donald Trump was
00:10:18able to do for this economy versus what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are doing.
00:10:22Yeah, I absolutely agree. I want to ask you about the beefsteaks, because it's fun to
00:10:26talk about. And maybe in a day from now, we will know who will stop talking about it.
00:10:32So I know, you know, being a senator from Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro seems to be at
00:10:36the top of the list. I'm just saying because she's holding the rally in Philadelphia. We
00:10:41know he's from Montgomery County, which, for those that don't know, is just north of
00:10:45Philadelphia. It makes sense that maybe she would bring the governor of Pennsylvania on
00:10:51stage to announce. But I don't know that. That's my thought. But what's your thought
00:10:54on this? Yeah, I'm not sure there's a whole lot of suspense here as you're tipping your
00:10:58hand pretty heavily last week when they when they put this event together and said this
00:11:03is going to be the announcement. So Josh Shapiro looks very clearly to be the the guy unless
00:11:08you know, look, always something could come up at the last minute in background and record.
00:11:12And there are there are scandals out there with Josh Shapiro that Pennsylvanians know
00:11:18and have been talked about in the press and probably will get a lot more attention. So
00:11:22it's not like he's got a very clean slate. He's he was a prosecutor, attorney general
00:11:28and and had some had some issues as attorney general. And he's someone who ran speaking
00:11:35very moderately, thinks supporting things like educational choice. And as governor,
00:11:39he has just blocked everything. He's been as as left as anybody as as governor. So there
00:11:46are issues out there to go after Josh Shapiro. But he looks like the guy right now. So that's
00:11:49what I want to ask you about, because a lot of articles this morning, one of them in Politico
00:11:53saying that Senator John Fetterman has concerns about him as the VP, so much so that he's
00:11:58gone to Kamala's camp and said, you should not pick our current governor. That's interesting
00:12:03that a senator in Pennsylvania is saying, do not pick the governor of Pennsylvania.
00:12:07What do you make of this? Is this just bad blood between the two?
00:12:10I, you know, I don't know the blood between the two. They, you know, Fetterman was the
00:12:16lieutenant governor, but was lieutenant governor after under a different governor in
00:12:19Pennsylvania. So I don't know what the bad blood is there between the two. But it is a
00:12:25remarkable thing if if that if that is accurate.
00:12:29And just real quickly, if it is the governor, I mean, does he move the needle here in
00:12:34Pennsylvania for the Harris team?
00:12:38In the end, with Donald Trump on the ballot and Kamala Harris on the ballot, those are
00:12:44the two. Ninety nine percent of the vote is going to be related to those two. Are there
00:12:50some votes, particularly in southeastern Pennsylvania, that might swing your swing a
00:12:53little bit more toward Kamala Harris because Josh Shapiro is on the ticket? Yeah. And in
00:12:59in a race, it's maybe a 10,000 vote race that might make a difference. But on the on the
00:13:04large scale, no, it's not going to make that much difference.
00:13:07We shall see an announcement today, Senator.
00:13:10Always good to see you. Thanks for waking up early with us.
00:13:13Appreciate it. Pleasure.
00:13:14Well, busy weekend here for the Olympic Games.
00:13:16I've been watching. It's over in Paris.
00:13:18Big day yesterday for Team USA.
00:13:20They gave the boost here to the medal counts.
00:13:22Let's go over to Alex Kramer.
00:13:24She's got the latest on the Olympics.
00:13:25Good morning to you, Alex.
00:13:27All right. Let's first start with an update to the women's Olympic boxing controversy,
00:13:31of course. So to no surprise, both Amon Khalif of Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan, who
00:13:36have male chromosomes but are fighting in the women's competition, remain undefeated in
00:13:41the Olympic Games. Neither have even lost a single round.
00:13:45Khalif advancing to the welterweight semifinal today, while Lin Yu-Ting will fight in the
00:13:50featherweight division semifinal, meaning both competitors will secure at least a bronze
00:13:56medal at this year's Olympics.
00:13:58And despite Olympic officials claiming the Seine River is clear for competition, some
00:14:02countries are taking matters into their own hands to ensure their athletes' safety.
00:14:06So Belgium announcing just yesterday that their mixed relay triathlon team would be
00:14:11withdrawing from competition after one of their athletes who competed in the women's
00:14:16triathlon fell ill after swimming in the Seine, which showed levels of E.
00:14:20coli contamination last week.
00:14:23And how about this?
00:14:24It was a golden weekend for Team USA, who finished Sunday in first place with 19 gold
00:14:29medals, 26 silver medals and 26 bronze.
00:14:33Yesterday's competition featured gold medals from Scottie Scheffler in the men's golf
00:14:37final, and then Bobbi Fink, who broke the world record in the men's 1,500 meter swimming
00:14:42race and another world record from Team USA women's swimming, who won the gold in the
00:14:47medley relay.
00:14:48But the highlight of the day, Noah Lyles and a photo finish in the men's 100 meter race.
00:14:55So at first glance, it was believed that Jamaica's Keyshawn Thompson had actually won
00:14:59the gold. But a second look revealing that Lyles winning by, get this, five thousandths
00:15:05of a second, making him the first American to win the 100 meter race in 20 years.
00:15:11Now, everyone, there are still seven days of Olympic Games left to be played.
00:15:15And of course, we will continue to bring you the latest from Paris.
00:15:17But for now, back to you.
00:15:19All right. Thanks so much, Alex.
00:15:21As tensions rise in the Middle East, an escalation into all out war could be imminent.
00:15:25Chuck Holton joins us next live from Israel to break down the latest.
00:15:28You're watching Wake Up America.
00:15:30Stay with us.
00:15:40Welcome, as believes an attack by Iran and Hezbollah against Israel could start as soon
00:15:44as this morning.
00:15:45Let's get out to Newsmax foreign correspondent Chuck Holton, who is live in Israel with
00:15:49more on this. Good morning to you, Chuck.
00:15:52Good morning. That's right.
00:15:53The tensions are high here.
00:15:55And even though people here in Jerusalem are trying to go about their daily lives as best
00:15:59they can and because they've gotten used to having these high tensions, that doesn't mean
00:16:04that they're not taking it seriously.
00:16:07Daniel Hagari says that he's the IDF spokesperson.
00:16:11He says that the IDF is prepared not only for defense, but also for offense.
00:16:16If it comes time to retaliate against a strike from any direction, if you think about it
00:16:22now, Israel is under threat from all four areas of the compass, north, southeast and
00:16:28west. The Houthis have shown that they can be a threat from the south and from the west.
00:16:33You've got the West Bank.
00:16:36Tensions are rising.
00:16:37There have been daily and nightly raids and ambushes and attacks coming out of the West
00:16:43Bank. And now these threats directly from Iran and, of course, Hezbollah in the north.
00:16:48Today, we've seen about nine separate alerts across the country from the south and the
00:16:56north, but nothing of the scale that they're talking about so far.
00:17:01As they're planning for these potential attacks, the commanding general of CENTCOM,
00:17:08Eric Carrillo, arrived in Israel yesterday to help coordinate a response.
00:17:13He's also going to be visiting Jordan to try to get the Jordanians to assist in shooting
00:17:18down any missiles or drones that come from Iran, as they did the last time back in
00:17:23April. They are striking hard already.
00:17:28The Israelis are hitting targets in Syria and in Iraq and even in Lebanon to try to
00:17:36blunt the force of any attack that comes.
00:17:39And so for right now, everybody's just sort of waiting with bated breath.
00:17:43But like I say, trying to go about their daily lives, as a matter of fact, at my hotel,
00:17:48there's a kids camp today and they're going ahead with that, trying to just make things
00:17:52seem as normal for the children as possible.
00:17:56After everything they've been through the last 10 months, I guess that's the way to go.
00:17:59You know, at least make the kids feel a little sense of normal.
00:18:02All right, Chuck, thank you so much.
00:18:04Appreciate that report.
00:18:07All right, for more on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, let's welcome a
00:18:10retired Air Force Brigadier General and U.S.
00:18:12Deputy Military Representative to NATO, General Blaine Holt, and retired U.S.
00:18:15Army Lieutenant Colonel and President of the London Center for Policy Research, Colonel
00:18:19Tony Schaefer. Good morning to both of you.
00:18:22General, I'll start with you.
00:18:23So Secretary of State Antony Blinken on a call last night with G7 allies said he
00:18:28believes an attack on Israel could come this morning.
00:18:31How are Israel and its allies preparing right now?
00:18:34I understand the U.S. has sent 12 warships to the region as well.
00:18:38That's right. And around the region, you see things tightening up pretty quickly here.
00:18:42Jordan has sternly warned Iran that their skies are sovereign and they will take
00:18:49action if that's violated by Iran.
00:18:52Saudi Arabia has said any missiles that fly over the kingdom will be engaged by their
00:18:58own patriot systems.
00:18:59So the region is essentially transmitting to Iran, you should be very, very careful
00:19:06when you do this. Well, the Ayatollah probably will be very careful because he's
00:19:11been spending a lot of time over the weekend purging, arresting, rolling up folks
00:19:17that he believed were traitors and were working with Mossad to make the hit happen.
00:19:22Now, does something happen in the next 12 hours to 42 hours?
00:19:27Maybe so. The markets certainly have spoken that way.
00:19:30When you take a look at what happened in Asia with the Japanese markets all the way
00:19:34now to Europe, these are the types of precursors that something is afoot and we
00:19:39probably are going to see something very, very aggressive.
00:19:41Yeah, we're certainly on high alert here.
00:19:43Colonel Schaefer, the last time that we saw a rocket barrage from Iran, it was more of a
00:19:46show of force and that was easily shut down by the Iron Dome.
00:19:49But do you expect a different response this time around?
00:19:53Much. It can't be the same, as you point out correctly, John, it was a show of force.
00:19:57It was very dramatic and very expensive, probably the most expensive fireworks show
00:20:02in the history of mankind, billions of dollars.
00:20:05But at this point, they've got to do something different.
00:20:08And it has to be something that is perceived to be much more effective in stymieing or
00:20:13damaging the Israelis.
00:20:15That's what they've got to do.
00:20:17Now, how they're going to do that becomes the question.
00:20:18As Blaine correctly pointed out, the nations around Israel are supporting Israel.
00:20:25So they're not going to have an easy time of getting inside of the country.
00:20:29So they're going to have to look at other options.
00:20:31Other options are limited by the fact that the Mossad is very good.
00:20:37They've been watching what they're doing.
00:20:38But, John, let me say two things.
00:20:40First off, the United States has no ability to influence anything at this point.
00:20:44Joe Biden was upset because the Israelis didn't tell him about the two assassinations
00:20:50before they happened. So we have no leverage here.
00:20:52We are literally, as I said the other day, this administration's passengers in their
00:20:58own clown car of national security at this point.
00:21:01They have no idea what to do.
00:21:03And secondly, and probably more importantly, when you examine how things are going to
00:21:07play out, we have to understand that despite our inability to do something, the
00:21:13economy is going to suffer of the world, the stock exchange is going to drop.
00:21:16And this is where President Trump was always superior at linking national security to
00:21:20economic success. I would never have seen these things going this far off the rails
00:21:23under a President Trump.
00:21:25General, you're always honest with us.
00:21:27You tell us like it is.
00:21:29How confident are you or not so confident that this could lead to an all out war in
00:21:34the Middle East? I'm fairly concerned and I'm fairly confident that if Iran takes an
00:21:42extremely aggressive tack here, if they use them, Hezbollah and the Houthis, to try to
00:21:47overwhelm the Iron Dome system, if they kill a lot of people, if they take a lot of
00:21:52casualties, we're going to see a regional war spark off.
00:21:56And to Tony's very elegant point, we are passengers on a ship without a rudder.
00:22:01We have zero leverage at this point in the game.
00:22:04And and the Israelis have already said we will use weapons you have never seen before
00:22:09if that were to happen.
00:22:09And Colonel Sheriff, if this does happen here shortly, what does the U.S.'s role in this
00:22:15conflict? What does that look like?
00:22:17At best, support Lloyd Austin's deployed a number of assets forward to include 4000
00:22:23Marines. The Pentagon's record ordered a record number of pizzas to be delivered over
00:22:28the weekend. So there's a lot of a lot of operational plan.
00:22:30And I'm not joking about that.
00:22:32Blaine and I track this stuff.
00:22:33Hey, you got to eat, right?
00:22:35You got to eat when you're actually planning for war.
00:22:38So so right now, the Pentagon is on essentially pre-war footing.
00:22:42And I think there's a number of options, but it's it's all John.
00:22:45It's all like response.
00:22:46We got to figure out and jump in.
00:22:48We have no ability to anticipate or be on the offensive.
00:22:51So it's a we're in danger here.
00:22:53Yeah. Yeah, we're in danger.
00:22:54Yeah, exactly. That's exactly right.
00:22:56All right. We have to leave it there.
00:22:57General Blaine Holt, thank you so much, as well as Colonel Schaefer.
00:23:00We appreciate you coming on in.
00:23:03Take care and great day.
00:23:04All right. Well, the rising tensions.
00:23:06Yeah, lots of rising tensions in the Middle East.
00:23:09It's it's concerning, as I said, and we should be concerned here as well.
00:23:12I know General Holt was telling us last week that we should be concerned
00:23:15for those crossing the border illegally, those with terror ties
00:23:18and what they may be planning here in our country as that's going on
00:23:21in the Middle East.
00:23:22So lots to talk about.
00:23:23And we're going to continue this conversation coming up
00:23:25with New York Congressman Anthony D'Esposito.
00:23:27Stay with us.
00:23:30Closed captioning 19.
00:23:36Closed captioning 20.
00:23:43Good morning and welcome to make of America, it is Monday, August 5th,
00:23:47I hope you all had a great weekend.
00:23:48I'm Charlotte McBride.
00:23:49And I'm John Glasgow and for Rob Fenerty great to be here.
00:23:52Kickstart the week here on a Monday.
00:23:54We are in the final hours here when we could find out who Vice President
00:23:57Kamala Harris will choose for her running mate.
00:23:59A lot of anticipation.
00:24:00Yeah, we should know in about 24 hours.
00:24:02So Harris plans to unveil her pick for VP through an online message
00:24:05two supporters ahead of a rally in Philadelphia scheduled for tomorrow night.
00:24:10Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was raised in Montgomery County, that's just north of
00:24:14Philly.
00:24:15Not saying he's the guy, it would make sense.
00:24:18Kamala did meet with three finalists for VP yesterday at her home in D.C.
00:24:23Her selection will kick off a highly anticipated new phase of the campaign against former President
00:24:27Trump and J.D.
00:24:28Bannon.
00:24:29Could there be a curveball?
00:24:30That is the big question.
00:24:31Donald Trump continues to attack Kamala Harris.
00:24:34Her track record here, because he was at a rally here in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend.
00:24:39He reminded all the people there about what four more years of Kamala in the White House
00:24:43would look like.
00:24:44Take a listen to this.
00:24:46With four more years of Kamala, the California socialist, you know she destroyed San Francisco.
00:24:52Then she destroyed the whole state.
00:24:55Look at what's going on in California with your family and our country.
00:24:59It'll never recover.
00:25:00If you have any more time with these people, it's already, I'm worried about the next three
00:25:05months if you think about it.
00:25:09And now, according to a new CBS poll, the race between Harris and Trump is tight as
00:25:14we are just 92 days away from the election.
00:25:17President Biden and his national security team will meet in the Situation Room today
00:25:21ahead of anticipated Iranian and Hezbollah attacks against Israel as tensions escalate
00:25:26in the Middle East.
00:25:27We will have a live report from Israel coming up.
00:25:31But first, Newsmax caught up with Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance in Georgia
00:25:35over the weekend and gave his take on multiple issues heading into the November election
00:25:39and historic prisoner swap between the U.S. and Russia last week.
00:25:43Take a listen.
00:25:44I want to talk about Social Security tax cuts, the Trump Social Security tax cuts.
00:25:49Also no tax on tips.
00:25:51These are a couple of programs.
00:25:52Folks on the left say, look, we're already in $35 trillion worth of debt.
00:25:56These won't work.
00:25:57Who's going to pay for it?
00:25:58And when it comes to tax on tips, in particular, is there a ceiling on those folks who are,
00:26:02let's say, a hedge fund manager making a million dollars a year who wants to allocate part
00:26:06of their income, saying, no, that's actually tips that I'm making?
00:26:10How do you guardrail against that?
00:26:12A couple of things.
00:26:13First of all, the budgetary hit is actually substantially smaller than a lot of left wing
00:26:16programs, which are basically just giveaways to interest groups, you know, paying people
00:26:20not to work, sending a lot of money overseas that shouldn't go overseas.
00:26:24If we can afford to do that stuff, we can certainly afford to have social or have the
00:26:27seniors who depend on Social Security benefit from some real relief.
00:26:31The other thing the Democrats don't want to talk about is they want to give Social Security
00:26:34and Medicare to illegal aliens.
00:26:36You don't worry about bankrupting these programs and throwing a generation of American seniors
00:26:40into poverty.
00:26:42That's what you'd be doing.
00:26:43But again, this is what Kamala Harris, this isn't me making it up.
00:26:45She is on TV in her own words saying she wants to give these programs to illegal aliens.
00:26:52It's complete insanity and again, it drives home that if we just tell the truth about
00:26:56Kamala Harris, we're going to win this election because the American people have a lot of
00:26:59common sense.
00:27:00Kamala Harris says she was in charge of the root causes of the border crisis.
00:27:04One of those root causes took place in Venezuela.
00:27:06They just had an election this past week.
00:27:08The State Department now is saying that they recognize the opposition candidate, Gonzalez,
00:27:13as the winner of that election.
00:27:14But the Maduro election commission says, no, he actually won.
00:27:19Which side do you lean on?
00:27:20Was this a stolen election in Venezuela?
00:27:22Well, look, clearly a lot of problems in Venezuela.
00:27:24And by the way, Kamala Harris gave sweetheart deals to the Maduro regime in exchange for
00:27:29them having free and fair elections.
00:27:31Now they're not having free and fair elections.
00:27:33It's just another example of people taking advantage of the weakness of Kamala Harris's
00:27:38leadership.
00:27:39But by the way, talk about the root causes of migration.
00:27:41The root cause of illegal immigration in this country is that our borders are Kamala Harris
00:27:45doesn't do her damn job.
00:27:46We change that.
00:27:47We change illegal immigration.
00:27:48Final question for you, Senator Vance.
00:27:50This past week, we saw a prison exchange, a prisoner exchange out of Russia.
00:27:54Three Americans returned home safely.
00:27:56But in exchange, the Biden White House had to coordinate giving back Russian spies and
00:28:01even a convicted murderer.
00:28:02Kamala Harris says, quote, this is just an extraordinary testament to the importance
00:28:06of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength
00:28:11that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy.
00:28:14Your thoughts on that statement?
00:28:15And also, was this prisoner swap worth it?
00:28:17Well, first of all, my thoughts on that statement are I don't know if she knows what she was
00:28:21talking about, but I sure as heck don't know what she was actually talking about.
00:28:25And again, this is the problem with Kamala Harris.
00:28:27She doesn't have any core convictions.
00:28:28So whenever she answers something in an unscripted way, it's just like it blows your mind.
00:28:33Like, what is she actually saying?
00:28:34No one knows.
00:28:35I don't think she does either.
00:28:36Look, it's good that we have these Americans coming home, but I think it drives home the
00:28:40importance of Donald Trump's leadership.
00:28:42I think he would have gotten a much better deal.
00:28:44I think that, frankly, some of these people would have never been taken hostage.
00:28:47You talk about Evan, who's the reporter from The Wall Street Journal.
00:28:49I don't think he would have been taken hostage if Donald Trump had been president.
00:28:52So it drives home the problems with weak leadership.
00:28:55Strong leadership, you get better deals, and you have fewer of your people taken hostage.
00:28:59Senator Vance, good luck the rest of the way.
00:29:00Appreciate your time.
00:29:03Great interview there by our Mike Carter.
00:29:05Thanks, Mike.
00:29:06They were very fair, actually, CNN, shockingly, honestly.
00:29:11They were very fair.
00:29:12They want to do another one.
00:29:13You know, we're doing one with Fox if she shows up.
00:29:16I don't think she's going to show up.
00:29:18She can't talk.
00:29:19She can read a teleprompter.
00:29:20I'd give her about a six on a scale of 10.
00:29:24Six.
00:29:25For talking, I'd give her less than a one.
00:29:29We need people.
00:29:30So, as you just saw Trump say, Vice President Kamala Harris is OK with a teleprompter, but
00:29:36she has yet to do a sit down interview since Biden dropped out.
00:29:39Now Democrats are rallying behind their candidate and a new CBS poll just out yesterday has
00:29:43Harris up one point on former President Donald Trump nationally.
00:29:47And they are tied.
00:29:48They are neck and neck in key swing states.
00:29:50Let's break this all down.
00:29:52Let's get some reaction.
00:29:53Let's welcome in commentary editor for The Washington Times, Kelly Sadler, and White
00:29:57House and Washington reporter Daniel Lipman with Politico.
00:30:01Great to see both of you.
00:30:02Thank you so much for being here on Monday, Kelly.
00:30:05To you first.
00:30:06This new CBS poll has Harris leading Trump and the former president continued his attacks,
00:30:10as we just heard there on Harris's record.
00:30:13That was during that rally in Georgia over the weekend.
00:30:15Do you think, though, it's working?
00:30:17And should they change the strategy?
00:30:18Do you think that this is going to eventually balance out?
00:30:21Do you think Trump's going to come ahead here?
00:30:23Is this honeymoon phase going to wear off?
00:30:25Well, the honeymoon phase will wear off, and I'm not surprised that the polls are tightening.
00:30:30Kamala Harris has had a good two weeks where she's received zero media scrutiny on her
00:30:35record.
00:30:36Everything has been glowing, praising the media has gone into overdrive to try to erase
00:30:41her history, erase her tenure as the borders are, you know, backtrack on all of her radical
00:30:47positions like banning fracking, defunding the police, giving illegals free health care.
00:30:53So, you know, you've got all these wild positions that the media isn't covering.
00:30:57You have her not actually giving any sort of sit down interviews, never going off script
00:31:03in the times that she does.
00:31:04It's incomprehensible.
00:31:05And then she'll be naming her VP pick either today or tomorrow, which will lead to even
00:31:10more glowing press coverage.
00:31:11So I'm quite frankly surprised that she's not up five or 10 points over Donald Trump
00:31:16given the last two weeks.
00:31:17The fact that it is still close means that this is going to be a very competitive race.
00:31:21And as soon as Kamala meets adversarial press, if there is such thing anymore, I don't know.
00:31:28The American people will begin to see her for a record and her policy positions and
00:31:33realize that there really isn't any depth there.
00:31:35And again, these are just polls.
00:31:37We know that they're going to change as the weeks go on, about three months out to the
00:31:40election.
00:31:41But there is one thing that concerned me a little bit, Daniel, in looking at this new
00:31:44CBS poll.
00:31:45So the percentage of Democrats who say they'll definitely vote has risen to its highest point
00:31:51this year.
00:31:52So that means the Democrats are obviously more excited about Kamala than Biden and now
00:31:56are going to show up on November 5th.
00:31:58How concerned should Republicans be about this?
00:32:02I think Republicans should be very concerned, given that the energy and enthusiasm on the
00:32:07left has kind of taken over the energy on the right.
00:32:12I was in Milwaukee like a lot of journalists and Republicans thought that they had this
00:32:18in the bag.
00:32:19And now with Harris on the ticket, it completely shook up the race.
00:32:23You have one of the interesting statistics is that black voters, only 58 percent were
00:32:29sure that they were going to vote when Biden was on the ticket.
00:32:32Now it's 74 percent.
00:32:34And so you're seeing that with young voters as well.
00:32:37Some independent voters have kind of come to Harris's side.
00:32:43And I think she'll pick a VP candidate, potentially Josh Shapiro, who can attract some of those
00:32:49rural voters that she may not be great at as some coming from someone in California.
00:32:55Kelly, I want to get to this, too.
00:32:57I mean, these independent voters, obviously, they're going to be the most important.
00:33:01And you saw J.D. Vance in that interview that Mike Carter did.
00:33:03It was a very good interview.
00:33:05And he says, you know, we just got to keep hammering Kamala on her record.
00:33:08Just keep making that point clear, because the voters, they have common sense.
00:33:13Do you think that that strategy is going to work?
00:33:15Or is the Trump campaign going to have to take a new page here?
00:33:18No, it's absolutely going to work.
00:33:20Why aren't reporters today asking Kamala Harris about the stock market that is crashing and
00:33:26the impending war in the Middle East that could lead to a global war and what she is
00:33:30going to do about it, how her policies are going to alleviate an impending recession
00:33:36and a global war?
00:33:38Kamala Harris is responsible for this under the Biden administration.
00:33:42She has been the VP.
00:33:44The Biden administration has enriched Iran by lifting sanctions.
00:33:47Iran is funding terrorism across the globe.
00:33:50We've got thousands of Marines and ships in the Middle East.
00:33:54Are they going to be pulled into a war?
00:33:56This strategy of a ceasefire is ridiculous because, you know, you have one side, the
00:34:01terrorists who want complete elimination of Israel.
00:34:04They're not going to cease their fire.
00:34:06So what is the strategy there?
00:34:09You see J.D. Vance doing interview after interview after interview, Donald Trump doing interview
00:34:13after interview after interview.
00:34:15We know what the Trump administration was like for four years, where there was no global
00:34:20wars, where there were not all of these migrants crossing the southern border without any vetting
00:34:24and just having no idea where they are coming from.
00:34:27Kamala Harris has been a border czar for three plus years, and she has done nothing to stem
00:34:32that tide.
00:34:33She has done nothing to enhance our national security.
00:34:36And now we're all going to be suffering from economic recession.
00:34:40Things don't turn around.
00:34:41Yeah, I got to think all the excitement around Kamala is the honeymoon phase here.
00:34:44I mean, everyone was so down.
00:34:46If you're a Democrat, you are not feeling great after that debate.
00:34:49And then leading up to the RNC, it was, as Daniel said earlier, it looked like the Republicans
00:34:53were running away with this one.
00:34:55So yes, there is some excitement.
00:34:57But then you look at Trump's rallies and you see the excitement that he still brings in
00:35:01blue cities.
00:35:02We saw from the Bronx.
00:35:03We saw New Jersey.
00:35:04And then this past weekend in Atlanta.
00:35:06Take a look at this crazy Kamala ultra left.
00:35:11You know that she was here a week ago, lots of empty seats.
00:35:17But the crowd she got was because she had entertainers and it all started to unfold
00:35:23when they started to leave about 10 minutes into the speech.
00:35:26It's very boring.
00:35:29I don't need entertainers.
00:35:30I feel the stadium because I'm making America great again.
00:35:35That's our entertainment.
00:35:37That's our entertainment.
00:35:39Making America great again.
00:35:42I mean, Daniel, he's he's not wrong.
00:35:44She did have Megan Thee Stallion there.
00:35:46She had some entertainers.
00:35:47And we've said this now for months.
00:35:49He is the entertainment.
00:35:50That's why people go and pack these rallies, because they want to see Donald Trump.
00:35:54I don't know if people are really going to see Kamala.
00:35:57Your thoughts?
00:35:58Yeah, a lot of Democrats are really happy with Harris because they think she's a much
00:36:03better candidate to defeat Donald Trump.
00:36:05And so they would be happy with any Democrat who has a good chance against Trump.
00:36:10And so they're not really looking for entertainment.
00:36:14And so I think, of course, Hollywood celebrities are going to be on Democrats side.
00:36:18But you saw in 2016, remember, Katy Perry did that famous concert at Hillary Clinton's
00:36:25in an event in Philadelphia right before the election did not help win Pennsylvania.
00:36:29And so I think that's there's limited effect on that.
00:36:32It was a little interesting.
00:36:33I saw that Trump is going to Bozeman, Montana, for a big rally when that's not a swing state.
00:36:39And so maybe he's going to be helping out Tim Sheehy, who is running for Senate, the
00:36:44Republican against John Testa.
00:36:46But you would think that he would be wanting to spend his time in more swing states since
00:36:50it's so you know, we're only 92 days away.
00:36:53Maybe Trump gets 50 cent next.
00:36:55Yeah, we'll see about that.
00:36:58All right, Kelly, Daniel, we'll see you guys in a bit.
00:37:01Thanks so much.
00:37:04Well, global markets are starting off the week on a sour note after Japanese stock crash
00:37:07in its biggest one day drop ever.
00:37:10Alex Kramer has much more in business headlines and some breaking news this morning that we
00:37:15have been following out of Florida.
00:37:17Hurricane Debbie officially making landfall in Florida with winds of 80 miles per hour.
00:37:21It upgraded last night to a category one hurricane.
00:37:25It was just a tropical storm.
00:37:26So again, hitting that west coast of Florida just about an hour ago.
00:37:33And this is a live look from Tampa.
00:37:35We are thinking of everyone there.
00:37:37We are told there are hundreds of thousands without power this morning.
00:37:41This storm continues to grow as it crosses the state and then up to Georgia as well.
00:37:48Business headlines.
00:37:49Well, Japan's stock market suffering its biggest ever one day loss today as a result of a worldwide
00:37:54sell off intensified following the release of weak U.S. employment data and fears about
00:37:58a U.S. economic slowdown.
00:38:00So just to discuss with us is president of Strollmark LLC, business development consultant
00:38:06Hillary Ford, which all right, Hillary.
00:38:08So Japan's index Nikkei 2225 has entered bear market territory and other Asia-Pacific markets
00:38:15such as Taiwan's type X and Australia's S&P ASX also tumbled from a slew of factors.
00:38:21So certain circuit breakers designed to prevent panic selling were triggered multiple times.
00:38:27So even crypto currencies were not spared.
00:38:30Bitcoin is down roughly 12 percent.
00:38:32You've got Robinhood has I saw about a couple hours ago.
00:38:36They have halted 24 hour trading.
00:38:38Hillary, I think everyone was waking up to this news this morning.
00:38:42The question everyone's mind, what are the impacts of this stock route on the American
00:38:47economy?
00:38:48Well, pleasure to be back with you again, Alex.
00:38:51And this is ghastly news, of course.
00:38:53And you're totally right about what happened in Asia.
00:38:55It's across the globe to Europe to the FTSE is down.
00:38:59So is the DAX.
00:39:00So it's in Germany.
00:39:02It's across the globe.
00:39:03This isn't just one place.
00:39:05There is the expression when America sneezes, the world catches the flu.
00:39:10And I will say it was due to those terrible job numbers on Friday, U.S. manufacturing
00:39:15is down.
00:39:16And I wonder if the whole world has been watching Newsmax because one of the things over the
00:39:19weekend that I was saying and is very scary, it's not just what has been reported, Alex.
00:39:25It's what's not been reported is that last year, 11 of the 12 months quietly, the job
00:39:32unemployment numbers were revised downward.
00:39:35And just recently, they just revised May and June down as well.
00:39:41It's estimated by Market Watch, an independent source that last year there were 439,000 fewer
00:39:48jobs than repeated than reported.
00:39:50So Intel has just let go of another 15,000 employees.
00:39:54And one wonders what the world is doing, because the world can see where they're hearing these
00:40:00numbers.
00:40:01It's not in the mainstream media.
00:40:02It's everywhere.
00:40:03They're sensing it.
00:40:04They're seeing it.
00:40:05They're getting wind of it.
00:40:06And that's why you're seeing this sell off.
00:40:07Yeah.
00:40:08I mean, the numbers that the American public are getting are not accurate.
00:40:12How have investor sentiments changed since this news, since this crash?
00:40:17Well, most of America is still waking up.
00:40:20Certainly, some of us have woken up on the East Coast for your early show here, Alex.
00:40:24The West Coast hasn't woken up yet.
00:40:25But what tends to happen is people sell first and they think later.
00:40:30It's like sort of like a fire.
00:40:32Everybody sort of runs.
00:40:34And during people running out of a fire, you get some people stamped on and trodden on.
00:40:38I think that's what's going to happen.
00:40:40I think you're going to see some ghastly fallout.
00:40:42What may well happen, and by the way, there's a 60 percent bet now that the Fed will lower
00:40:48interest rates sooner rather than later.
00:40:51And there are some speculations as early as today by perhaps a quarter point.
00:40:56There was speculation that it would be September, maybe a quarter or a half point.
00:41:00I think it might be sooner than that.
00:41:03Jerome Powell wants to do all he can to avoid looking political.
00:41:06But something has to be done in the U.S. because the world will go into a tailspin otherwise.
00:41:11Hillary, you are one of our economic experts on our program.
00:41:15I just quickly what is your advice to everyone right now?
00:41:19Don't panic.
00:41:20You mustn't panic.
00:41:21I will say this.
00:41:22It's sort of too late to do what you should have done.
00:41:24Thank you for asking me today.
00:41:26Look at Warren Buffett.
00:41:28He has nearly 200 billion.
00:41:30That's with a B, Alex, nearly 200 billion in cash.
00:41:34He's been sitting on the sidelines.
00:41:36This has been for months.
00:41:37Why?
00:41:38He's waiting for stocks to plummet so that he can go in and buy.
00:41:42If you're in the market, you know, selling today is the silliest thing that you can do.
00:41:47You probably got to do the best thing is to just wait it out.
00:41:50But I'm not going to tell people what to do with their money.
00:41:53The best thing you can do in the future for the rest of your life is follow Warren Buffett.
00:41:59I've heard that advice a lot, actually, Hillary.
00:42:01OK, so with the small businesses are now beginning to consider what life may be like under a
00:42:07Kamala Harris presidency.
00:42:09It's scary to think about.
00:42:10Entrepreneur Sean Mike, founder of the life insurance agency Family First Life, is now
00:42:14warning Americans that her fiscal policies will hurt lower to middle class Americans
00:42:19the most.
00:42:20Now, Mike is quoted as saying, quote, I want me and my family to have more of my money.
00:42:26I trust and what I do with my money more than I trust the federal government.
00:42:32Hillary, we've talked a lot about what she believes in her fiscal policies, a lot in
00:42:38this segment.
00:42:39She wants to tax the middle class more.
00:42:41I mean, if that's even believable at this point, how do you think a Kamala Harris presidency
00:42:46would affect lower middle class families?
00:42:49Well, it doesn't matter what anybody thinks.
00:42:50Just look at the facts.
00:42:51Look at California.
00:42:52Look what's happened to San Francisco.
00:42:54Look what's happened under her watch.
00:42:56Chevron is leaving like all the other companies and people are leaving in all of California's
00:43:01history.
00:43:02There's never been a population decline except for under her watch.
00:43:05Just look to California.
00:43:06That's all.
00:43:07It's the perfect example.
00:43:09Everybody is leaving California.
00:43:12Absolutely.
00:43:13Fantastic answer there, Hillary.
00:43:14I wish we had more time, but we are all out of it.
00:43:16Thank you for joining us this morning.
00:43:17Pleasure, Alex.
00:43:18All right, everyone.
00:43:20Coming up, the Kamala Harris sweepstakes coming down to its final day.
00:43:24And all eyes are on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, but one Pennsylvania senator
00:43:29is sending warnings.
00:43:31That would be a horrible choice.
00:43:33We'll get into that next.
00:43:34And as we head to break, of course, you're taking a live look at Philadelphia, courtesy
00:43:38of EarthCams.
00:43:39Kamala Harris will introduce her running mate to the rest of the world in Philly tomorrow.
00:43:47It's trending on social media.
00:43:48I love this segment.
00:43:49Oh, yes.
00:43:50We know it's our favorite segment.
00:43:51OK, so the Kamala Veep stake is heating up and while many Democrats are supporting Pennsylvania
00:43:57Governor Josh Shapiro to be Harris's running mate, one Pennsylvania Democrat who has worked
00:44:01closely with Shapiro is not too enthusiastic about a possible Harris-Shapiro ticket.
00:44:07So Politico now reporting that Senator John Fetterman is not supporting Shapiro to win
00:44:12the Veep stake, saying Shapiro is exclusively focused on his own personal ambitions.
00:44:17People on social media responded saying, forget about Shapiro-Fetterman, I should be more
00:44:22concerned that Kamala is the presidential nominee.
00:44:25Good point.
00:44:26Others are surprised even a Democrat like Fetterman sees how bad of a choice Shapiro
00:44:31would be calling it Shapiro over.
00:44:34OK, so there's a lot, a lot that has come out about Josh Shapiro that is not
00:44:42putting him in the best light.
00:44:43So Fetterman came out and said he can't be trusted.
00:44:46I wonder why, because it's very hypocritical for the Democrats to come out and talk about
00:44:51sexual harassment on the right.
00:44:53Well, it's very funny that back in September, the state paid almost $300,000 to hide a sexual
00:45:02harassment case against Shapiro's closest advisor and also made her sign an NDA.
00:45:09And he also, Shapiro did not fire that advisor.
00:45:13That advisor ended up quitting on his own accord only a few months later because the
00:45:17story got leaked.
00:45:18Again, Shapiro did nothing to take care of this situation.
00:45:22And not only that, a bombshell report has now come out about Shapiro hiding a murder
00:45:29of this young Ellen Greenwood.
00:45:31It was when he was A.G. in Pennsylvania.
00:45:34He signed off that this young woman who was stabbed 20 times, many of them in her back,
00:45:40in her brain and in her heart, plus multiple postmortem stabs, Shapiro, his A.G.'s office
00:45:45ruled it a suicide.
00:45:48And her family has now sued the A.G.'s office because of that.
00:45:52What was Shapiro hiding?
00:45:54What was Shapiro hiding?
00:45:56Not only that, he's very anti-Palestine, which is not going to fly for a lot of people on
00:46:01the left.
00:46:02He also said he would veto any discriminatory bills that would take transgenders out of
00:46:08women's sports.
00:46:10How scary is that?
00:46:11There is a lot that we need to be talking about Josh Shapiro.
00:46:14So we had on Senator Santorum earlier in the show, and of course he's a senator in Pennsylvania,
00:46:20and we talked about this.
00:46:21And he said, yeah, there's something there and people need to pay attention when one
00:46:25of two senators from the state and the Democrat senator is saying, my Democrat governor should
00:46:30not be VP.
00:46:31And he said, we need to listen to that because that's a big source and that's a big deal.
00:46:37If he's VP, I mean, J.D. Vance is absolutely going to crush him in a debate, I think.
00:46:40Looking forward to that.
00:46:41Right?
00:46:42I mean, look at this.
00:46:43If you look at the comparison, I mean, J.D. Vance, senator as well, but he's coming out
00:46:47and he's attacking their policies, whether or not there's some dirt in their skeletons
00:46:52in the closet.
00:46:53I mean, he's definitely going to roast him here in a debate, I think.
00:46:55It'll be interesting.
00:46:56And we're hearing this morning that, yes, she could announce in the next hour or so.
00:46:59We're really paying attention to this very, very closely.
00:47:02And we'll see if she does go with Shapiro again.
00:47:04The fact that she is going to go on stage for the first time with her VP pick at a rally
00:47:09in Philly.
00:47:10It would be a little weird if she picked the governor from Minnesota.
00:47:14Right.
00:47:15Right.
00:47:16Very, very, very true.
00:47:17I know.
00:47:18Yeah.
00:47:19So this is going to be very interesting.
00:47:20But again, a lot of skeletons in Shapiro's closet.
00:47:21Moving on a little bit.
00:47:23So out of all the hot takes to be said by Democrats this election season, our good friend
00:47:27Nancy Pelosi may have just taken the top spot.
00:47:31Take a look.
00:47:32Such a consequential president of the United States, a Mount Rushmore kind of president
00:47:38of the United States.
00:47:39I want to know what comes next.
00:47:41That he belongs up there on Mount Rushmore, Lincoln and Joe Biden.
00:47:48But you got Teddy Roosevelt up there and he's wonderful.
00:47:51I don't say take him down, but you can add Biden.
00:47:53Right.
00:47:54Right.
00:47:55Wow.
00:47:56We're all just like, what?
00:47:57People on social media saying Trump calls are crazy, Nancy, for a reason.
00:48:02Others are saying with the state Biden's in, if you were added, it would have to be renamed
00:48:07to Mount Rushless.
00:48:09Maybe it's time 84 year old Nancy Pelosi takes a page out of Biden's book.
00:48:14She's a Biden fan, obviously, she supported him.
00:48:18But let's be real, guys, Mount Rushmore, Nancy, Mount Rushmore, um, no.
00:48:24George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Jefferson, Lincoln and Biden.
00:48:28Well, I mean, here's the thing.
00:48:29She's walking back on this.
00:48:31This is damage control after she was behind the whole coup to get by.
00:48:34Oh, good point.
00:48:35Good point.
00:48:36Good point.
00:48:37Good point.
00:48:38She's that is the best point I've heard all day.
00:48:39That's exactly what it is.
00:48:40That's a good point.
00:48:41She's in damage control trying to save face here.
00:48:44She was the one that orchestrated Biden to be off this ticket.
00:48:47And now she's trying to come out here and, you know, give him his legacy.
00:48:51Good boy.
00:48:52Probably part of the deal.
00:48:53I was asked about that in that same interview and, of course, would not admit that she was
00:48:56the one behind it and admitted, though, that, yeah, he might not be happy with her right
00:49:00now.
00:49:01And her response to that was, oh, no, he knows that I love him.
00:49:03It's fine.
00:49:04We're fine.
00:49:05It's all it's all in good fun.
00:49:06I don't think it's in good fun.
00:49:07I don't think he would feel that way.
00:49:09Oh, good stuff.
00:49:11All right.
00:49:12Alex, thank you so much.
00:49:13Appreciate you.
00:49:14Thanks, Alex.
00:49:15Well, as tensions rise in the Middle East, an escalation into all out war could be imminent.
00:49:19In the meantime, President Biden, Vice President Harris will be in the Situation Room today
00:49:23to evaluate the tensions and what happens next.
00:49:26The Israeli consul general from New York joins us live to break it down next.
00:49:33Welcome back.
00:49:34I'm Alex Kramer.
00:49:35Well, as the Olympic Games continue today, two competitors with male chromosomes will
00:49:38fight female competitors in the boxing semifinals today.
00:49:42Amon Califf of Algeria will have a chance to secure a spot in the welterweight gold
00:49:47medal match, while Taiwan's Lin Yuting will fight for a spot in the featherweight championship.
00:49:52Now, both competitors are undefeated in Paris and have not even lost a single round.
00:49:58So joining us now for more reaction is USA boxing coach and founder of Tussle Fight Gear,
00:50:04Kerry Williams.
00:50:05Kerry, welcome back.
00:50:06I'm so glad you could join us again.
00:50:07I want to remind the audience that you are also an Olympic level coach.
00:50:12So Kerry, the last time we spoke was before was last week before any punches had even
00:50:16been thrown.
00:50:18I think I know your reaction, but after seeing what has evolved over the last week, what
00:50:22is your reaction?
00:50:26It is that we need more information.
00:50:29I am pleased that the IBA is going to be doing a press conference to talk more about those
00:50:36two independent test results that came out last year.
00:50:41The IOC was informed of those.
00:50:45So I'm not sure why all of this is going on.
00:50:48They could have done a very quick cheek swab to check if those test results were accurate.
00:50:56So now, hopefully, we're going to have some more information today.
00:50:59Yeah.
00:51:00No, Kerry, that's a fantastic point you make, because the IOC was aware.
00:51:04In fact, Estevan Kovacs, who was the European VP of World Boxing Organization and the former
00:51:09Secretary General of International Boxing Association, the IBA, informed the IOC and
00:51:15even warned them all the way back in 2022 that they had concerns about these boxers
00:51:21and other boxers as well, that a gender test that they did revealed that these two boxers
00:51:27were male.
00:51:28That is why they were not allowed to participate in the World Boxing Championships.
00:51:33And Estevan Kovacs came out and said the IOC, to this day, two years later, never,
00:51:39ever responded.
00:51:41What is your response to that?
00:51:43Why is the IOC sweeping this under the rug?
00:51:48I think it's pressure.
00:51:50I think it's political.
00:51:52Unfortunately, you know, we politicize this whole, I mean, everything that's happening
00:51:57right now seems to be politicized.
00:51:59And we can't base things off of feelings, ideology.
00:52:04It needs to be based off of science and biology.
00:52:07An XY chromosome is what it is.
00:52:10So I do believe the IOC jumped the gun and, you know, I think they're going to have to
00:52:15do a lot of backpedaling.
00:52:17Yeah.
00:52:18Well, considering that these two fighters have not lost even a single round, and obviously
00:52:23there's been a whole lot of pushback, I do want to read you a statement that the IOC
00:52:27came out with during a press conference.
00:52:30They have called these two athletes with the XY chromosomes victims.
00:52:34They have also said, quote, the IOC is saddened by the abuse that the two athletes are currently
00:52:40receiving, that the current aggression against these two athletes is based entirely on arbitrary
00:52:44decision.
00:52:46With the fact that they are facing these young women who have trained their entire lives
00:52:52are getting knocked out sometimes in under 45 seconds.
00:52:56What is your response to the IOC saying that these two boxers with the XY chromosomes,
00:53:02which would be considered males, are the victims in all of this?
00:53:07It's in the playbook.
00:53:08You know, that's what you know, when somebody doesn't agree with somebody else, they go
00:53:13right to the victim mentality.
00:53:15You know, these these poor people.
00:53:18Well, what about all of the other women who are being cheated out of what they rightly
00:53:25deserve?
00:53:26And that's fair and safe competition.
00:53:29So it is going right back to the that victim mentality.
00:53:33You know, of course, it's not any of the out there are five athletes that that were tested
00:53:38by the IBA, not just these two in particular.
00:53:42And it's not to their fault that, you know, they could have been born with DSD.
00:53:47We don't really know, again, until we have more facts.
00:53:52But yeah, it's not the athletes fault.
00:53:53Nobody's blaming those athletes.
00:53:55We're talking about why did the IOC allow these athletes to compete in the twenty twenty
00:54:01four Olympics against women?
00:54:03Exactly.
00:54:04Quickly, I want you to take a listen to President Donald Trump commenting on this situation
00:54:09at his rally in Atlanta over the weekend.
00:54:11Take a look.
00:54:12It is true, though, certain phrases get amazing response like I will keep men out of women's
00:54:19sports.
00:54:20Now you find out I'm right.
00:54:21I used to use the barbells that now all you have to do is look at the boxers.
00:54:25This young girl from Italy, a very a champion boxer.
00:54:30She got hit so hard she didn't know what the hell hit her.
00:54:33He hit her with two jabs and she said, I'm out.
00:54:37How crazy is it?
00:54:39OK, so, Kerry, we know that Kamala Harris and her potential VP running mate Josh Shapiro,
00:54:45they both support allowing men to play against women and the next Olympics will be held right
00:54:50here in the United States.
00:54:51How important is it that we have leaders like somebody like President Donald Trump standing
00:54:56up to this nonsense?
00:54:57Because I know it can be very scary for a lot of women to stand up.
00:55:00They're afraid that they will lose any everything in their lives if they do.
00:55:05So again, how important is it for leaders to step up?
00:55:09Right now, this is imperative.
00:55:11This is where we make the change, because if we don't make that change now, it's only
00:55:16going to get worse in the future.
00:55:18Yeah, Kerry, I don't have any proof, but I would guess that a lot of these people who
00:55:24are supporting these men and women's sports have never played a sport in their entire
00:55:28life.
00:55:29You and I myself, I played on the Olympic soccer soccer team development team for five
00:55:34years.
00:55:35The hours, the money, the time since we were young, we put into playing sports.
00:55:40It is such a travesty that a lot of this is getting taken away.
00:55:43It is not just about being nice to other people.
00:55:47The amount of just effort that goes into playing sports.
00:55:50You know it.
00:55:51I know it.
00:55:52And a lot of the girls watching right now, they know it as well.
00:55:54We've got to stand up for these girls.
00:55:56Kerry Williams, thank you so much for joining us.
00:55:59All right, everyone.
00:56:00Former President Donald Trump held his rally in Georgia over the weekend, going after Vice
00:56:05President Kamala Harris's track record and how the Trump Vance campaign plans to go after
00:56:09the current vice president in the next three months.
00:56:13Michael Montgomery, who spoke at the rally.
00:56:15Welcome back.
00:56:16Tensions are escalating in the Middle East.
00:56:18The U.S. believes an attack by Iran and Hezbollah against Israel could start as soon as this
00:56:23morning.
00:56:24And we know that it has been going on for the last 10 months.
00:56:26The war between Israel and Hamas now on a call yesterday with G7 allies.
00:56:30Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that an attack by Iran on Israel could be imminent.
00:56:36So for more on this, let's welcome in Israeli Consul General in New York, Ofir Akounas.
00:56:41Thank you so much for being here, Ofir.
00:56:43How concerned are you about the escalating conflict right now?
00:56:46First of all, good morning and thank you for having me here.
00:56:53It's not new for us, actually.
00:56:56You mentioned October 7th.
00:56:57That was the beginning.
00:56:59Even though we said for years that the Iranian threat is a real one, that it's a threat on
00:57:07actually direct threat on Israel, but a direct threat on the Western world and the United
00:57:14States as well.
00:57:15And they are saying it's just they just said it two days ago.
00:57:19Two days ago, they said to the United States, don't be actually don't be involved.
00:57:25The Iranians said it to the Americans.
00:57:28So we all actually we are ready.
00:57:31We are not afraid.
00:57:32We are not afraid.
00:57:33There's a lot of threats from Iran, from Tehran with their proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and
00:57:40the Houthis in Yemen.
00:57:41But we are not afraid.
00:57:42We know what to do.
00:57:44And you know, we had a reporter on live earlier this morning in Israel.
00:57:47And he said that he said, you know, there's a kid summer camp still going on.
00:57:50They're trying to have life as usual for everyone there, especially children, because they don't
00:57:55want them to live in fear.
00:57:57Is that what you're seeing a lot?
00:57:58Is that they try to just go on life as usual there?
00:58:01We are not living in fear.
00:58:03We know we're familiar to the Iranian threats for actually, let's say, 30 years.
00:58:09They're saying they declare all the time that they want to destroy the state of Israel.
00:58:15And they want actually they use their proxies to do it.
00:58:18October 7th, it was the peak.
00:58:20And we can see that the Houthis are actually using the Iranian missiles against Israel.
00:58:27The last missile, the last missile from Lebanon to actually Majdal Shams, it's a Druze village,
00:58:34a Druze village.
00:58:35It's not a Jewish place.
00:58:37They killed 12 innocent kids and teenagers.
00:58:42And it was an Iranian missile, a very heavy one, by the way, very heavy.
00:58:46Talk to me about the Iron Dome.
00:58:47We know the capabilities.
00:58:48It's one of the most secure defense systems here in the world.
00:58:52But I mean, knowing what's going to happen here, if Iran does have a barrage of attacks,
00:58:57is it, what's the capability of it right now?
00:59:00Should this escalate to, you know, if, can it sustain the amount of, how severe of attack?
00:59:09It's not only the Iron Dome.
00:59:11Iron Dome, of course, it's very, very important.
00:59:13You know, we used together the Patriot in 1991 during the first Gulf War.
00:59:21Then they throw, by the way, from Iraq, not from Iran.
00:59:24But actually, I want to tell you, they want to use their militias in Iraq to throw the
00:59:28missiles against Israel.
00:59:30Iranian militias in Iraq, like they did in 1991, then it was Saddam Hussein and we actually
00:59:36used then the Patriot.
00:59:37And then now we will use the Iron Dome, of course, and we have another, you know, options.
00:59:44And we know that the U.S. is obviously helping out as well.
00:59:46They sent 12 warships there as well, just to be prepared.
00:59:49It was reported yesterday.
00:59:50So Iran told Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, and the UAE that they would also
00:59:56be targeted if they attempted to intervene and help Israel in any way.
01:00:02So do you see them still continuing to help Israel and ignoring Iran's threats as well?
01:00:07Actually, you just reflect the definition of the conflict, the axis of evil versus the
01:00:15Western world and other actually allies of United States and Israel as well.
01:00:22And you mentioned, actually, you mentioned a few of them.
01:00:26I don't think that they need actually to be afraid as well, just like Israel, because
01:00:30they think that the American involvement is very, very strong and we appreciate it.
01:00:37Iran said stay out of this to the United States.
01:00:39But I mean, if this does escalate to an all out war, what role should the U.S. play in
01:00:43this and how do they approach that?
01:00:45I don't know.
01:00:46I don't want to speak here about, you know, specific reactions that we can do together.
01:00:54But I want to tell you that, as you said, they threat the United States.
01:00:59So we all, we all, we all must understand that this is not Iran versus Israel.
01:01:06It's Iran and the axis of evil versus the Western world.
01:01:11And I want to say, I know that it's Wake Up America, the name of the program.
01:01:16I want to say a few words to my fellow Americans.
01:01:21Wake Up America.
01:01:22They cannot burn the American flag in Washington, D.C.
01:01:27It's only one, less than one kilometer from the Capitol Hill.
01:01:30They can't wave Hezbollah flag here in Times Square.
01:01:35It was three days ago.
01:01:36They cannot burn the American flag in actually downtown or in the actually in the front of
01:01:42the Israeli consulate.
01:01:44They cannot say any more death to America in America.
01:01:49They can say it in Beirut.
01:01:50They can say, and they are saying it, by the way, in Tehran, but not here.
01:01:54So just wake up, America, wake up and understand that we are actually in a very, very difficult
01:02:02days.
01:02:03That's right.
01:02:04But historical days.
01:02:05You know, you make a great point and it's sickening what we're seeing and it has to
01:02:08be stopped and it can't happen anymore, especially in our nation's capital as well.
01:02:12Ofer Akunas, thank you so much for joining us.
01:02:14Thank you so much.
01:02:15We appreciate you.
01:02:16Good morning.
01:02:17And thank you.
01:02:18So for more on the escalation between Iran and Israel, we want to welcome in correspondent
01:02:21Zach Andrus, who is live in Tel Aviv for us this morning with the very latest of what's
01:02:25going on there.
01:02:26Good morning, Zach.
01:02:27Hi.
01:02:28Good morning.
01:02:29We're in the back end of the window that U.S. officials and Israeli officials were telling
01:02:35us on Friday night that there would be a 72 hour window of an imminent attack, a threat
01:02:40from Iran directly.
01:02:42And that did not come.
01:02:43We've sat here all weekend, stayed up late at night waiting to see if there would be
01:02:47any red alarms or any movement.
01:02:50And so far, Iran seems to be very happy creating this circumstance, this atmosphere where every
01:02:56night becomes a waiting game.
01:02:58Now, yesterday, Hezbollah has been, of course, continuing their attacks like they have been
01:03:02for the last 10 months along the border.
01:03:05They have not fired deeper than about five miles south of that Israel-Lebanon border.
01:03:10About two dozen rockets were launched from Hezbollah yesterday and a Hezbollah drone
01:03:17slightly injuring two Israeli soldiers on that northern border yesterday afternoon.
01:03:22We were also following a stabbing attack that took place just south of Tel Aviv that killed
01:03:27two elderly people yesterday, injuring two others as well.
01:03:32So dominating the headlights here.
01:03:34Now, last night, the prime minister, Netanyahu, and the Israeli cabinet met.
01:03:40That's where the prime minister told the cabinet, quote, we're prepared for any scenario, both
01:03:44offensively and defensively.
01:03:46He went further to say, I reiterate and tell our enemies, we will respond and we will exact
01:03:50a heavy price for any act of aggression against us.
01:03:54Now, Israeli security sources are telling us that with each passing day, they become
01:03:59more prepared and that this window where Iran has not attacked has allowed for additional
01:04:04U.S. assets, including aircraft and ships, to move into defensive postures in the region.
01:04:10They say this is a good thing.
01:04:12And it is believed that the U.S. has been working behind the scenes to reestablish the
01:04:16same coalition or partners that came together in April to help shoot down Iranian projectiles
01:04:25at the time, potentially roping in, once again, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to help in those efforts.
01:04:30Of course, the United Kingdom has assets in the region that could assist as well in a
01:04:35large widespread attack.
01:04:36But again, the fear here, as we're, again, in that window that U.S. officials say an
01:04:40attack is imminent.
01:04:41The fear is that this could be a saturation attack, an attempt to overwhelm the air defenses
01:04:47by firing rockets and missiles all at once, or a multi-wave attack where the rockets and
01:04:53missiles just keep coming and, again, straining the air defense system, straining the first
01:04:58responders to be able to combat such an attack.
01:05:01That's the fear here this week, as, again, we'll sit and we'll wait and see.
01:05:05Zach Anders, thank you.
01:05:07And as Ophir just said, they're not living in fear because they want to try to continue
01:05:11with their daily lives to show the Iranians they're not going to take that away from them.
01:05:15So we are definitely thinking of everyone over there today.
01:05:18Coming up, Kamala Harris expected to announce her running mate before tomorrow's rally in
01:05:21Philadelphia.
01:05:22Could it be Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro?
