Dodgers Vs. Phillies Post-Break: A Battle for NL Supremacy

00:00The Dodgers got off to a great start following the all-star break, struggling a little bit
00:07more here in the last week.
00:09The Phillies just 4-11 since that all-star break.
00:13And coming out of the break here, some of that momentum obviously lost between the two,
00:16but if we are looking at this series, how much is going to change the landscape?
00:20Because as we saw, the Phillies in their previous matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers in
00:24Philadelphia ended up sweeping them.
00:26The Dodgers would love to return that favor.
00:27We'll see.
00:28And also, the Phillies got a big win yesterday, not because we don't think the Phillies are
00:31going to another game the rest of the season.
00:33It's just the timing of it.
00:35You had such a devastating loss on Saturday night, where it looked like you were finally
00:38going to clear that hurdle.
00:39And then Zach Wheeler to the rescue on Sunday, who was phenomenal.
00:42And then knowing that it's not as if you're going to play, again, the Chicago White Sox
00:46on Monday.
00:47Oh, we'll get back.
00:48Right.
00:49You're headed into Los Angeles, where that is going to be an unbelievable playoff atmosphere
00:53and see who's going to be the best.
00:54Now, the Phillies might be looking at this year as going like, of course, I don't think
00:57we're going to sweep, but let's at least get one of these games here, not swept by
01:00the Dodgers, because that really could turn a lot of things on their head.

01:06To me, two of the best teams in the National League.
01:09But as we pointed out multiple times, sometimes it's not how you're playing now.
01:13It's how you're playing down the stretch, because the other talented teams, I'm not
01:16worried about the Braves.
01:17I said it all season long.
01:18Still think they're going to be a playoffs.
01:19Just don't think they have enough talent to do a lot of damage once they reach the National
01:22League playoffs.
01:24Milwaukee Brewers, Yelich in the back, the lineup sometimes questionable.
01:27But you look now at those teams out there in the NL West, the Dodgers, obviously, first
01:31and foremost.
01:32But now you're seeing the Padres, with all that talent, finally starting to turn it on.
01:36The Arizona Diamondbacks, who made the World Series last year, finally starting to play
01:40good baseball.
01:41Are those the teams that we worry about, where you say, Dodgers-Phillies, skip over the Braves,
01:44skip over the Brewers, and then start to worry about the Padres and the Diamondbacks, because
01:48you'll have to play them in a wildcard series?
01:50I don't think anybody wants to do that at this point.
