Scheffler continues incredible year as USA claim back-to-back Olympic golds whilst Team GB’s Tommy Fleetwood has to settle for silver in crazy finale

The majors in golf may be over until next year, but the Olympic golf scene was drawing in the viewers as Scottie Scheffler continued his wonderful reign this season and Team GB ended with a special silver medal as the men’s competition went down to the final day.

00:14On a tense last day in Paris, Fleetwood was tied with Scheffler on 19-under, walking on
00:20to the 17th hole, but a bogey after missing the green and overhitting a chip left him
00:26trailing Scheffler, who shot a course record equaling 9-under-62, going down to the last.
00:34Fleetwood, who shot a wonderful 66, tipped his head back in disappointment before breaking
00:40out into beaming smile as thousands of fans chanted his name.
00:44Part of me is disappointed, of course, but at the same time I've never dreamed of being
00:50an Olympic medalist, said Fleetwood.
00:53I'm still unbelievably proud and happy of the way the week went.
