Transcript
00:00Welcome back everyone it's Charlie.
00:09This will be my full house the dragon season 2 episode 8 video.
00:12There were a ton of Easter eggs and book references and connections to the original game of thrones
00:17show some more little than others.
00:19There even some scenes meant to set of characters will see on other upcoming TV shows like night
00:23of the seven kingdoms with the blood raven I'll be doing videos for that show to just
00:27like I do for house the dragon like I did for the original show game of thrones will
00:31start seeing trailers for it later this year.
00:34Alright everybody grab your swords time to storm King's landing just have a couple things
00:38to take care before we do that there are also a lot of book changes.
00:41So will break it all down.
00:43I'm also working on some of my house the dragon season 3 videos right now to so be sure to
00:47subscribe to get everything careful for spoilers.
00:50If you have not seen the finale yet will be talking about everything starting with the
00:53episode title the queen whoever was.
00:57This is a reference to both rainier and rainies corliss's flagship which he renamed from the
01:01sea snake to the queen who never was to honor rainies, but ever was as in always was is
01:07rainier reference is meant to be a parallel for the title of the season one finale which
01:12was the black queen as well to the idea that the queen whoever was is the show saying that
01:16she was always the queen the rightful queen like you always were the queen.
01:22Even though we have all these problems with the greens right now Damon kind of says the
01:26same thing to her later in the episode when he bends the knee again swearing his fealty
01:30again like you are the queen you are the one to unite us all against the long night tying
01:35things back to all Damon's weirwood visions and seeing her sitting on the iron throne
01:39with her crown and also setting up season three which they imply she will take King's
01:44landing and actually sit on that iron throne for real bringing it full circle from season
01:48one when she was named the heir in the realm swore fealty to her at the end of episode
01:52one like the circle is now complete will see if he tells her about beheading the young
01:57version of her in that one vision of his like whether was this one vision I did have where
02:01we did kind of come to blows and I might have cutting your head off.
02:04But don't worry.
02:05I'm totally past it.
02:06Now they added to the intro tapestry again they did a scene depicting the events of the
02:10end of episode seven with Vhagar and Aemon coming for Dragonstone in Rhaenyra scaring
02:14him off with all of her new dragons the bloody lines between Vhagar and Syrax around them
02:19here are reference to the bloodlines of old Valyria the dragon seeds themselves having
02:24Valyrian blood in their veins.
02:25Then we see all the dragons that she has available to her here on dragon.
02:29So that's why Caraxes isn't here because he's over at Harrenhal, but these are all the current
02:33dragons that she has available to her besides that the opening scene starts with Tywin Lannister
02:38meeting with the triarchy to negotiate for their fleet and financial support in Tyrosh
02:43this area right here on the map their initial demand for their fleet is a hundred dragons
02:48which of course he cannot deliver their final price is the stepstones which they've been
02:53fighting Corlys Valerion throughout season one for both in the flashbacks and then closer
02:58to present day to like it's been an ongoing battle with the triarchy.
03:01This is probably a lie on their part like they claim that they'll clean up their pirate
03:05ways in the stepstones and just impose a tax on passing vessels it'll probably way worse
03:10than that.
03:11There was also a bit where they slide in the fact that he doesn't have to worry about Aemon
03:15being pissed at him because he'll have enough forces to take the iron throne himself that
03:18could prove problematic in the future will see about that they introduce Chiraco Lohar
03:23who is a character from the books and just the admiral of the triarchy during this period
03:27in the dance the dragons they turned her into a bigger character on the show though there's
03:31not a whole lot of book material about her they turn her into a much bigger character
03:34just having her mess with him left and right like you have to mud wrestle me to get my
03:38fleet also to on the side note you can have to screw all my wives love all the scenes
03:43of the mud wrestling when he like finally starts punching her like okay fine I will
03:46hit a woman you can kind of tell that he was letting himself be thrown around there because
03:50he was afraid to actually fight with her decorum will only last so far with him in a love the
03:55way during their dinner where he actually starts doing the mental math after she says
03:59that he has to screw all of her wives like how many times I can have to do this.
04:03Not if he'll do it.
04:04But how many times is it going to be then we see is revenge for what happened at the
04:08end of episode seven Rhaenyra gaining the new dragon sees the writers for vermith or
04:12silverwing and see smoke Eamon promptly craps his pants probably for the first time in his
04:17adult life and took Vhagar and burned sharp point RIP to all those people in the city.
04:23We actually heard about sharp point early this season corliss Valerian said that bar
04:27Amon was spending one of his boys to work on his flagship during the dance the dragons.
04:31Now we know why he named drop sharp point because RIP most that city just got burned
04:36this is meant to show you how Eamon is reacting more and more unhinged to threats on this
04:41level what Rhaenyra just threw at him he's been spending his entire life thinking that
04:44he had the most powerful dragon and he was invincible now not so much Allison calls him
04:50on this later like he basically burns sharp point to reassert himself make himself feel
04:54powerful again.
04:55Like yes, I do have the most powerful dragon, but a big part in this episode is him coming
05:00slowly unhinged in that facade that he's been holding up since he claimed Vhagar since he
05:05started acting like he was invincible is crumbling around him.
05:09It almost seems like he starts to cry later in the episode he doesn't openly start crying
05:12but he seems like he's about to weep suddenly Mr. Invincible is acting like that scared
05:16little boy all over again that was kind of the vibe of his therapy sessions they was
05:21having with Sylvie in the brothel like him slowly regressing back into that boy like
05:25state confessing all these things that he wouldn't do in the light of day when he was
05:28walking around acting like he was invincible.
05:31Then we see Aegon getting his daily care from the Grand Maester he asked for some rum he's
05:35broken, but he still love himself a little bit of rum normally they be giving a milk
05:39of the poppy, but you remember that was a big thing for Laris strong do not take this
05:43it will dull your wits this whole arc here like the Aegon and Laris stuff is a big book
05:48change from fire and blood the maesters recorded that Aegon spent an entire year nearly comatose
05:54hopped up on milk of the poppy 24 seven, but in this scene here when Laris comes to see
05:58him another big book change Laris tries to sell him on the idea to escape to Essos until
06:04the dance the dragons blows over Laris expecting that Rhaenyra the blacks Aemon and the greens
06:09was mutually destroy each other.
06:11You can swoop in and fix everything there was actually a version of this plot during
06:15the boys season four episodes this year I did videos for that like completely separate
06:19show completely separate mythology, but same basic idea with this is giant war in somebody
06:24swooping in to be the savior Laris strong trying to get Aegon to just come chill out
06:29on a beach with him for the next couple years till the dance the dragons blows over.
06:33He also tells him that Aemon in his anger and fear over the dragon season of the dragons
06:37would be much more likely to kill him which probably is not wrong Aemon is probably just
06:41looking for an excuse to get rid of Aegon for good.
06:44He also tells him that if Rhaenyra prevails and takes King's landing which she probably
06:48will not if but when she does the first thing she's going to do is kill him and she's not
06:54wrong because Allison to Rhaenyra talk about this at the end of the episode and Rhaenyra
06:58basically says that she's going to chop Aegon's head off.
07:01So it is time for Aegon to get out of Dodge and I don't think this meant to be some kind
07:05of long con from Laris strong like he genuinely wants to help Aegon even though he does want
07:11to stay close to power.
07:12It's kind of the same thing for mysteria mysteria seems like she believes in Rhaenyra, but she
07:16also does want to stay close to power.
07:19So it's not like Laris strong or mysteria on both sides of this are both being selfless
07:23beings they still want power.
07:26But now you see why Laris made such a big deal about getting Aegon walking again so
07:30fast after the battle at Rook's rest so that Aegon would be physically capable of making
07:34the journey east with him if they paste out his recovery like it goes in the books timeline
07:40he still be unconscious at this point hopped up on milk of the poppy Aegon starts asserting
07:44himself more claiming he does want the iron throne again, but eventually agrees with Laris's
07:48plan will see how that storyline bears out in season three.
07:52It could either turn into an aria in Braavos kind of storyline where they were just looking
07:56somewhere to stash her for a couple seasons until she developed all these skills to bring
08:00her back to Westeros, but I don't think he's completely gone from the plot for like a lot
08:04of season three.
08:05I think will just check in with him and Laris in the east for a while unless something really
08:08big happens to them on their way to the east speaking of which there are a lot of theories
08:13that Sunfire his dragon is still alive in the woods near Rook's rest recovering just
08:17like Aegon and unable to fly currently, but even with the speedrun version of the books
08:22that the show is doing with his recovery.
08:24I don't think that Aegon or Sunfire if Sunfire is still alive would be able to fly or fight
08:29again or do much of anything until the end of season three.
08:33Maybe like beginning of season four, but everything that Helena tells to Aemon during the episode
08:37basically confirms that Aegon will be back and he will retake the iron throne eventually
08:43couple of interesting bits of information that Laris strong reveals her to we find out
08:46what he did with all the money from Harrenhal that he inherited when he killed his father
08:50and brother instead of moving it to King's landing like Simon strong thought that he
08:54did Laris actually moved it to the iron bank in Braavos, which is actually a pretty solid
08:59plan as we know the iron bank of Braavos is still going strong hundreds of years later
09:03in the timeline during the events of the main show, whereas in King's landing the greens
09:07have emptied the crown's gold essentially the crown is bankrupt, which is going to cause
09:11a huge problem for Rhaenyra when she tries to take the iron throne back at the beginning
09:16of season three gotta feed all those hungry people in King's landing somehow and she seems
09:21like she spent a lot of her gold on operation snack time earlier this season when she fed
09:25all the small folk I hope she's bringing a whole lot of boats full of food with her
09:30couple of funny things going on around the room here to like obviously is a very serious
09:33scene.
09:34But if you look around the room with some of the sect decoration.
09:36This has been here for a while, but they don't pan around the room that often on the walls
09:40of all these designs of people just humping their brains out the even funnier thing about
09:45this is that when Viserys lived in these chambers during season one when he was still alive
09:49is that they were all adorned with decorations of dragons humping each other and as you can
09:54imagine Alicent not a huge fan of seeing dragons humping each other everywhere she
09:59looked inside his room Corlys and Rhaenyra talk on drift market is shipyard about Helene
10:04and dreamfire.
10:05She doesn't even consider her a threat correctly.
10:07So because there's no way that she fight like Rhaenyra is 100% here.
10:11There's no way the Helene would do something like that when Corlys says Aemon will continue
10:15to burn cities not stopping with sharp point that's actually a book reference to things
10:19that will eventually happen later.
10:21Even if they change a little bit for the TV show.
10:22I think we'll see versions of that go down, but I want to get too far ahead of the story
10:27because the show does change so much.
10:29So there's no way of knowing how they're going to adapt that specifically, but Corlys is
10:33not wrong.
10:34Aemon will continue to burn as much as he possibly can.
10:37She notices his flagship the sea snake, which is also Corlys is nicknamed he's called the
10:41sea snake in the books.
10:43He tells her though that he since renamed the ship the queen who never was naming her
10:47in honor of Rhaenys RIP writing now to her greater glory saying that the sea snake had
10:53been a testament to his own selfish desire for glory.
10:56The renaming is also a bit of a callback to the title of the episode the queen who ever
11:00was which is more of a reference to Rhaenyra though at Harrenhal Damon tells the men to
11:04feed Caraxes more pigs just because they started to run out of other livestock in good news
11:09Caraxes prefers pigs.
11:11They say the river men will be ready to march in two days and he plans to march them to
11:15King's Landing and take King's Landing before the Lannister army shows up to Harrenhal and
11:20at the end of the episode we see them showing up at the Riverland so that they're almost
11:23at Harrenhal, but the not quite at Harrenhal yet love the little chuckle that escapes him
11:27when Alfred Broom walks in because he knows that she's from Rhaenyra like Rhaenyra is
11:31checking up on him like I see she's trying to see what I'm up to here, but the big twist
11:35here is that Alfred Broom really tries to throw Rhaenyra under the bus and I love the
11:38way the Damon takes him to the gods would to talk to him just so many scenes of Damon
11:42in the gods would hear probably because of all his visions later in the episode that
11:46they just really want you to focus on this area, but he essentially tries to get Damon
11:50to usurp Rhaenyra and take command of the army for himself, which they thought that
11:54he might do previously love Simon strong also kind of peeping on them in the distance to
11:58like wait what is he doing is going to take this army for himself, but because Damon is
12:01got a full 180 character arc now he is fully team Rhaenyra so of course he's not going
12:06to try and usurp her, but I do love the way the plays with Alfred Broom here just a little
12:10bit and the way that Alfred Broom kind of pauses for a second like what is that on
12:14the wind.
12:15Just another reference to Alice rivers which Damon also talks about when he says barking
12:19at the moon basically a callback to all of his visions and more Alice river stuff essentially
12:23him saying that weird stuff happens here just be prepared for that the Damon search to piss
12:28off the small folk even more by totally blocking the entrance from King's landings harbor.
12:33So even the fishermen boats can get in and out.
12:35So that means people are beginning to starve even faster in the way the shoner explain
12:39Damon versus the small folk is that he's not even thinking about them as if there an
12:44actual entity that he needs to worry about like the not even a blip on his radar normally
12:49that would bite him in the ass.
12:51But if Rhaenyra takes King's landing at the beginning of season three is really going
12:54to be her problem not Damon's problem.
12:57We will see how she resolves that situation or does not resolve it.
13:01Then we get a small conversation between Helena and Allison where she's not in dragon dream
13:05of what she's actually present for their conversation as opposed to often outer space having another
13:09dragon dream and she basically tells Allison she doesn't want to be quick.
13:13Like I hate being Queen I was much happier before this and notice the reaction on Allison's
13:17face as if she wants to say me to I was happy before I became Queen.
13:22I didn't want any of this, but that would also mean telling her that she didn't want
13:26to have all these children to including Helena who she does love like she does love her children.
13:31But to be fair, she never wanted to be a teenage bride or be a teenage mother which she was
13:36like she had her first baby when she was 16 years old.
13:38That's part of the reason why she was so pissed off at Rhaenyra when they were younger which
13:42she apologizes for at the end of the episode because she had to be pregnant when she was
13:4616.
13:47While Rhaenyra was just walking around humping Harwin strong all over the red keep.
13:50The interesting thing here though is that Allison tries to get Helena to leave King's
13:54landing with her like Lyra strong is trying to get Aegon to sneak out, but unsuccessfully
14:00because as Helena says what would I do where would I go.
14:03Also I think part of the reason why she's not rushing to try and escape King's landing
14:06because she seen everything in her dragon dreams.
14:09She knows how it's going to play out.
14:11She knows how she's going to die as well to it sounds like she's made her peace with what
14:15her fate will eventually be because as she talks to Eamon later when he threatens to
14:19kill like I could have you killed for telling me how I'm going to die.
14:22She says it won't change anything.
14:24Even if you kill me, then you will still die the same way.
14:28So it seems like Helena is just seen how everybody's going to die and she's been processing it
14:32like now I'm cool.
14:33I'll stay here in King's landing the not going to kill me.
14:35I'll be fine.
14:36Let's take it some other way.
14:37We get our next big dreamfire mention when Eamon basically orders her to fly into battle
14:42with Vhagar and the greens.
14:44The other current dragon go to Harrenhal with them.
14:46Daeron and Tessarion is their other current dragon.
14:49Remember they think that Sunfire is dead right now.
14:51So that really considering Sunfire an asset.
14:53We haven't really talked about dreamfire that much this season outside of the whole controversy
14:57surrounding Daenerys's dragon eggs, but dreamfire is one of the oldest and thus biggest most
15:02powerful dragons that exist right now and she's the mother of a lot of the dragons that
15:07are alive grandmother of some of the dragons to most the dragons you see on the show are
15:11either children or grandchildren of silverwing or dreamfire, but for Eamon she's more like
15:17an asset.
15:18He's thinking more like an actual chessboard.
15:19So I've got this nuclear weapon sitting in the storeroom.
15:22Why don't we pull that out.
15:23Let's not leave that on the ground, but as a lot of people predicted they talked about
15:26this during the trailer is that Helena is it really a fighter like she would never want
15:31to burn anyone.
15:32Even if she didn't say that during this episode which she does like I'm not gonna hurt anybody
15:35that's not me they almost make it seem like Eamon intended to grab Helena and literally
15:40drag her to the dragon pit and throw her on dreamfires back like what is his plan after
15:45this like where was he gonna take her was gonna throw her in the black cells until she
15:48agreed to mount dreamfire.
15:51That's how unhinged he is right now how crazy afraid he is Allison calls him out for being
15:56total crazy town banana pants.
15:58This is also meant to be a continuation of their conversation when he fired her from
16:01the small council and she was implying the reason why he was being such a butthole is
16:05because of all the childhood trauma that he never got past this whole conversation gives
16:10Allison the idea to pull a Rhaenyra of her own steal a trick from Rhaenyra and sneak
16:14in a Dragonstone to try and do the same thing the Rhaenyra did earlier this season.
16:18The only way to avoid all this bloodshed is to get Rhaenyra to sack King's landing without
16:23actually having to sack it or any bloodshed.
16:25So essentially a man is crazy enough that Allison feels like she needs to throw him
16:29under the bus then we get Kristen Cole seeming like he still suffering from PTSD from rooks
16:34rest while he fondles Allison's favor that she was forced to give him earlier this season.
16:39She didn't want to do that it is he's pretty clear at this point that their little tryst
16:43is over like she's done with him.
16:44But he still kind of obsessed with her Gawain Hightower finally challenges him it sword
16:49point calling him on his affair with Allison.
16:51I think he figured out what was going on between them.
16:54The first time that he rolled up in the red keep he probably just waited to this point
16:58to finally call him on it who then claims that if Gawain does send him to the wall forcing
17:02to take the black than that would mean everybody finding out what he done with Allison in staying
17:07the Hightower's good name for a good long while he reveals how Allison saved his life
17:12twice when he was younger when he tried to kill himself in the King's landing gods would
17:16but she stopped him the other time saving him from the head man's axe was when he admitted
17:20to the affair with Rhaenyra he would have been executed if Allison had told Viserys
17:24the truth which she did not.
17:26This is meant to be a very bleak very serious conversation, but there a couple funny bits
17:30that he slips in here he apologizes for being so horny on main he tries to claim that no
17:35men have true honor.
17:36We know that's not true because Brienne of Tarth is probably the best example of what
17:40a truly honorable person is he says he used to believe in more traditional values and
17:45virtues but that all went out the window at Rook's rest after he saw what destruction
17:49the dragons brought in that is essentially what their future is his whole poem about
17:54the dragons dancing is a callback to the name of the conflict in the books the Targaryen
17:58civil war.
17:59The dance of the dragons in that there nothing compared to the power of the dragons what
18:04they're doing now does not matter.
18:06He also sounds like he's 100% sure that they're all going to die soon and nothing matters
18:11like he's got complete nihilism now even Gwaine Hightower yells at him a little for being
18:15too dark like that's messed up dude Rhaenyra hosts a feast for the new dragon sees Hugh
18:20Hammer, Ulf White, Adam Hull.
18:22You can tell she and especially Jace start to bristle a little at Ulf White's lack of
18:26composure formality because he was raised in Flea Bottom where manners of a royal household
18:31are not a thing at all.
18:33He goes like full Florida man at the Queen's table it will be like watching national lampoons
18:38Christmas vacation of Queen Elizabeth had eaten dinner with the griswolds like the most
18:41ridiculous thing you ever see he even kind of interrupts her to when she's giving her
18:45toast demanding more wine more little birds basically like their version of little chicken
18:49creatures.
18:50The other dragon sees also don't seem too hot on Ulf White either.
18:53I think this is mostly setting up trouble on team black showing how Ulf White might
18:57potentially become a bigger problem for Rhaenyra later on.
19:01I think they want to show that he cares more about the trappings of wealth and power and
19:04status given to him by being a dragon rider rather than supporting Rhaenyra the way that
19:09she wants them to support her paying off more of Jace's misgivings and with the dragon keepers
19:14said to her when they quit the whole endeavor here with the dragon sees was pure hubris
19:19on her part.
19:20The dragons are sacred and what she was doing will ultimately become a terrible idea.
19:25So I think the idea here and we see it more with Jace's scene when he admonishes Ulf White
19:29later in the episode threatening to take his head that not all dragon seeds might be on
19:34the same page and because they all control nuclear weapons.
19:37That's a huge problem for Rhaenyra brewing in the background going into season three.
19:41If not everybody on her team with nuclear weapons agrees on the same plan.
19:46It would not be a game of thrones show if there was not some betrayal inside both camps
19:50like Allison betrays the greens this episode.
19:52The same thing could wind up happening to Rhaenyra during season three.
19:56Then Rhaenyra gets word from Simon strong and Harrenhal who's worried the daemon built
19:59this army of rivermen for himself and won't support Rhaenyra's claim in favor of putting
20:04himself on the iron throne which he implied he would do earlier this season.
20:08Part of the idea here too is that she's so juiced up on dragon energy since the successful
20:12sowing of the seeds.
20:14She feels way more powerful just in general.
20:16She flies straight to Harrenhal herself to see what's what with daemon love the scene
20:20of Alice rivers just showing up in daemon's room Batman style when he calls her a witch
20:25that's a reference to her being called the witch of Harrenhal in the books daemon sees
20:29one of the children of the forest at the weirwood tree.
20:31He thinks that he's just seeing a vision like you starting to see things like he's been
20:34seeing visions this whole time there when he doubles back and doesn't see them again.
20:38He thinks that it's just a figment of his imagination because he's been seeing so many
20:42visions since he's been here.
20:44But I think that was meant to be one of the members of the children of the forest standing
20:47at the weirwood like they were actually there briefly for just a hot second and then took
20:50off.
20:51I'd actually been wondering all season if we see the children of the forest during this
20:54series at some point Alice rivers then tells daemon that he's ready to get the full weirwood
20:59network info dump like download all the information from the weirwood Internet.
21:04He prepares to watch all the game of thrones DVDs the black fire rebellion.
21:09Some stuff we might see during night of the seven kingdoms TV show like literally everything
21:12that happens later in the timeline notice when he touches the face of the weirwood tree
21:16is bleeding red sap all the weirwoods do that love the way they dial this up for dramatic
21:21effect to the face is actually meant to be modeled after George R. R. Martin's face they
21:26made a big deal about it when they brought in the set to like look we put your face in
21:29the weirwood here was almost like George R. R. Martin here is giving daemon all the
21:33spoilers for everything is can happen later in the timeline maybe he kept his hand on
21:37the tree longer.
21:38He would told him out winds of winter and dream of spring are going to end.
21:41But Alice rivers is basically telling daemon here what she's been telling him all season
21:45long he spent his whole life seeking his own path doing his own thing.
21:49That's why he's called the rogue prince in the books by the maesters because he goes
21:52alone does whatever he wants all the time until now because he's just a chess piece
21:57on the board in the grand game of thrones in the grand sense of things against the white
22:01walkers the night King in the next long night, which is basically the whole point of these
22:05visions.
22:06So just starting at the first vision that he has here he's is a bunch of different things.
22:10The first is of the weirwood roots traveling up the roots like his perspective follows
22:14the roots themselves.
22:15It's meant to be a reference to the weirwood network of roots just in general all weirwoods
22:19around Westeros are connected through their root system underground is a big part of how
22:24the green seers like the three-eyed raven in brand maybe Alice rivers to because there's
22:29rumors that she's also a green seer can use the weirwoods to see through time particularly
22:33back in time the rules for how this power works is a little bit different in the books
22:38are kind of mixing and matching things on the show the dragon dreams can seem like the
22:41same thing, but they're not in the books normally a green seer has to be touching a weirwood
22:46to use the ability and you can only see things in the past that are in proximity to the weirwood
22:51tree you can't literally see every single thing that happens.
22:54You can only see things that the weirwoods themselves can see, but then Damon sees the
22:59blood raven AKA Brendan rivers the three-eyed raven when he was younger, but after he had
23:04become the three-eyed raven hard to tell how old he is here, but he's not that old really
23:09important for the timeline though as Damon is getting this vision Brendan rivers has
23:14not been born yet.
23:15He's not born till much later in the timeline after Damon passes away, but Brendan rivers
23:20is very active during the events of night of the seven kingdoms which were getting episodes
23:24for next year.
23:25So think part of the reason why we're seeing Brendan rivers now is because were about to
23:29see him in actual present day when we see that night of the seven kingdoms show, but
23:33when we eventually see him on that show it'll be many years before he becomes the three-eyed
23:38raven and gains these abilities and starts seeing through time the place where Damon
23:43is seeing him is under his weirwood north of the wall where Bran visited him and got
23:47trained by him and I think was actually going on here like the way were meant to take these
23:51visions is it is the three-eyed raven in the future looking into the past seeing Damon
23:56giving Damon all these visions Damon himself is not a green seer he wouldn't be able to
24:01have weirwood visions unless somebody else was giving him visions.
24:04So I think that person is giving them to him is the three-eyed raven notice when they zoom
24:08in on his face you see the birthmark that is from the books the raven with the three
24:11eyes is the three-eyed raven thus like Bran saw a version of this when he was first injured
24:16notice the way the visions transition into the raven's third eye.
24:20That's why I think this is the three-eyed raven showing Damon things from both the past
24:24in the future Damon's future, but for the three-eyed raven.
24:28It's his past when the camera transitions to the ground.
24:30I think this is meant to look like Damon is seeing the night King and his white army from
24:34the perspective of a direwolf.
24:36That's why the camera seems like it's loping towards the night King notice it is a different
24:40actor playing the night King than the person who play the night King during the game of
24:44thrones.
24:45I'm not sure why they change the actor.
24:46Maybe he was just unavailable for this scene.
24:48But here's the other big part of this to I think this is it meant to be a vision of the
24:51future of the second long night during the game of thrones series that we saw during
24:55season 8.
24:56This is meant to be a vision of the past because green seers like the three-eyed raven can
25:00only see stuff in the past and he isn't alive during the events of the second long night
25:03like he dies right before that happens.
25:06So I think he showing Damon with the first long night looked like 8000 years ago in the
25:10books like a thousand years ago on the show is meant to be similar to something that Aegon
25:14the conqueror saw in his dragon dream, but because dragon dreams are meant to be of things
25:18in the future Aegon would've been seeing the second long night not the first long night
25:23the show doesn't really differentiate between the past and the present during these visions.
25:27So if you're little confused don't worry about it.
25:29Then this next vision of the dead dragons is meant to be the death of all the dragons.
25:33I think it's meant to be the doom of Valyria based on the flames in the background like
25:37this is after the 14 flames had erupted destroying everything RIP maybe will see a bigger version
25:43of that during an animated ancient Valyria TV show George RR Martin has been hyping up
25:46that they're doing that in animation at some point.
25:49This scene of him falling down and drowning amongst all the dead bodies.
25:52I think is meant to be mud mixed with blood it might be reference to the black fire rebellion
25:56which was a major event in Brendan Rivers earlier life before he became the three-eyed
26:00raven we might get another TV show where they cover black fire rebellion it overlaps with
26:05the events of night of the seven kingdoms TV show, but if we see black fire rebellion
26:09stuff during that show it have to be flashbacks when he falls through the bodies into the
26:14water and begins to float to the bottom drowning that's reference to what Alice rivers was
26:18telling him about his own future at the God's eye earlier this season.
26:22We can't talk too much about that without getting into spoilers, but the very deep water
26:26is a reference to the lake around the God's eye here right next to where he's standing
26:30getting these visions.
26:32This is meant to be the red comet that we saw at the beginning of the main game of thrones
26:35show in this is Daenerys's dragon eggs in the fire being hatched while Khal Drogo is
26:40burning then Daemon sees Daenerys with her three hatched dragons essentially the end
26:46of game of thrones season one episode 10.
26:48Then Daemon's last vision is of Rhaenyra on the iron throne with her crown in its present
26:53day adult Rhaenyra.
26:54I think this is meant to be a scene from season three episode one and they'll end on that
26:59shot like the very end of episode one though and with her sitting on the iron throne with
27:03her crown that it gets really trippy because Helena shows up saying that it's all a story
27:08you're but one part in it.
27:10You know your part Helena's line at the end there at King's landing makes it seem like
27:14she's actually speaking directly to Daemon in real time through the King's landing weirwood
27:18network is is a weirwood tree in the King's landing gods would, but because she's not
27:22near the gods would the getting really trippy with the way that her dragon dream powers
27:27actually work which aren't totally like they are in the books that they're basically expanding
27:30her powers.
27:31I talked about this before, but I think this is the show sort of conflating different ideas
27:35where they're saying the dragon dreams are similar to weirwood visions when they're not
27:40in the books like in the books are completely separate ideas, but on the show at least the
27:44new canon is that Helena's ability allows her to also communicate with other people
27:48inside these visions, but he's taking this to heart about his own role in the prophecy
27:53of the prince who was promised in the coming long night.
27:56I did a whole separate video about Helena's dragon dreams and the things that she seen
27:59essentially she's also seen everything that happens in the future as well to completely
28:03separate from this Jon Snow Daenerys the white walkers I'll put a link for that video in
28:07the description below what the show is doing though is using Daemon meeting the three-eyed
28:11raven here seeing the long night the night King all these things to solidify the fact
28:15that he's fully team Rhaenyra now and is on board with all the prophecy stuff that he
28:19was ignored before during his entire life.
28:22That's why later in the episode Rhaenyra says you sound an awful lot like my father Viserys
28:25talking about all this prophecy stuff.
28:28So now Daemon is committed to support Rhaenyra in her bid to unite the realm because at the
28:32moment they think the long night could come at any moment.
28:35It could be next week.
28:36It could be next year in their eyes, even though technically we've seen the original
28:40show.
28:41So we know that is not can happen for almost 200 years.
28:44We get another scene of Aemond with Helena trying to convince her to fly on dreamfire
28:47to Harrenhal.
28:48So we know that Aemond is headed to Harrenhal shortly.
28:51It almost looks like he's getting ready to cry here to like there's a tear in his eye.
28:55That's how worried he is about the actual war itself is probably shouldn't be a surprise
28:59like she's just confirming what most of us believed earlier this season is that Helena
29:03saw him burning Aegon in her dragon dreams, even though he tries to deny it when she suggests
29:09that he might try to kill her the same way like you gonna burn me to she even says later
29:13if you were to kill me it's not going to change your fate.
29:16So a lot of people are asking if this means that Aemond will ultimately be the one to
29:19kill Helena making it a big change from the books without getting into spoilers.
29:24She winds up dying in a completely separate way like obviously all the characters will
29:28eventually die at some point.
29:29They're not immortal.
29:30It's always possible that they change the way the Helena dies they change so much about
29:33her storyline.
29:34She's barely a character in the books.
29:37I expect her to be around to the final season on the show just in general.
29:40So however she goes out.
29:41She will probably be around during season four early theory.
29:45So at least for right now she safe.
29:47That's also why she's not super worried about running out of the red keep like I don't need
29:50to escape.
29:51I'm not gonna die like Rhaenyra is gonna try and kill me.
29:53And no big surprise Helena drop some new dragon dream information here.
29:57She says the Aegon will be king again.
29:59That's not an opinion.
30:00She's seen it in her visions.
30:01It's an assured fact.
30:03So we know at some point he will return to King's landing with Larys strong just like
30:07Larys told him that they would do and he will reclaim the iron throne from whoever sitting
30:11on it at the time which sounds like it's going to be Rhaenyra when she says he sits on a
30:15wooden throne that's probably a reference to him sitting on a wheelchair kind of like
30:18Bran did even though he can walk slightly better than Bran like Bran could not walk
30:23at all and Aegon can still kind of hobble along then Helena full-on tells Aemond how
30:27he's going to die and that he will die by the time the Aegon becomes king again like
30:32based on the timeline of what she's talking about here.
30:34It sounds like he's going to die by the time the Aegon sits the iron throne again definitely
30:39puts a ticking clock on his life span like start the countdown now this is actually meant
30:43to tie back to Daemon storyline some of his visions of Aemond and what Alice rivers told
30:48him at the beginning of the season when she said you're gonna die here and his vision
30:52of drowning in the lake at the gods I in this episode Helena tells Aemond he'll also
30:56die basically the same way to and they'll never find his body.
31:00He'll just disappear at the gods I does not seem like Aemond is too happy to hear that
31:06also does he believe in prophecy and dragon dreams previously I would have said yes, but
31:11here it sounds like he's looking for a way out to deny like no no no you're wrong.
31:15I can't believe this even though under normal conditions you think that he would buy into
31:19the idea of dragon dreams is because he's so studied in Valyrian history like I said
31:24he's really acting more like the scared little boy that he was when he was younger, but probably
31:29one of the biggest takeaways here is that we have our Daemon versus Aemond fight on
31:32the board at the gods I will see when they finally pay that off.
31:36My guess is either season three finale or sometime during season four.
31:40My guess right now is they want to keep Matt Smith around on the show as much as possible
31:44to try to delay that big fight till season four, but by the end of season three.
31:48I think will start to see some of the big main characters die.
31:51I think they'll save a lot of that for season four, but least like one or two big deaths
31:54during season three notice when Rhaenyra and Adam fly to Harrenhal they fly over the gods
31:59I they keep wanting you to remember the gods I just because it's reference so many times
32:04in this episode and earlier this season love the way Caraxes greets the other dragons to
32:09like yay my friends are here I've been so lonely since Daemon has been doing nothing
32:12but having weirwood visions this whole time we get a really cool aerial shot of Harrenhal
32:16to Daemon's flyby was during a storm at night.
32:20We also get a good look at Daemon's army of rivermen when she goes to find out what's
32:24what Daemon surprises her by bending the knee and sounding just like her father Viserys
32:29and if this is gonna be a controversial choice all these weirwood visions all the three-eyed
32:32Raven stuff causing him to buy into all this prophecy stuff so much this episode does change
32:37a lot of things from the books, but this is just meant to confirm that this entire season
32:42for Daemon has been him getting his groove back via weirwood visions.
32:46Now he's way more focused on the real threat the white walkers and he's way more team Rhaenyra
32:51the couple funny moments to when Rhaenyra calls him out in front of everyone really
32:54loudly like who are you loyal to like who do you swear fealty to any kind of rolls his
32:58eyes and looks around at everybody.
33:01I think is mostly laughing at himself like yeah you kind of expecting me to say that
33:05I'm doing this all for me.
33:06We get another cool scene of them talking to each other and High Valyrian when he says
33:09the war is just beginning.
33:11It's him saying that he thinks the long night is about to happen any moment now and it'll
33:15make their war against the green seem like a common slap fight.
33:18He also says winter is coming the motto of House Stark like everybody doing the meme
33:22pointing at the screen.
33:23He said the thing he also tells her about his visions he's actually seen the long night
33:28and she believes him notice he says till the end of our story more reference to this grand
33:34story that Helena talks about your part of this story the story of a song of ice and
33:38fire which is written by George RR Martin.
33:41So part of the idea is that they're coming to the same page here they're on a united
33:45front heading into season three and it seems like based on Rhaenyra's actions later in
33:49the episode that they'll sack King's landing and take the iron throne with a little help
33:53from Allison.
33:54Thank you for the assist letting us know the Aemond is going to be conveniently absent
33:58when Misaria says the gods favor Rhaenyra this sort of feeds into the idea that Rhaenyra
34:02started to drink her own Kool-Aid that she's also been pouring to all the dragon sees she
34:06started to feel more like a cult leader believing that she is the princess who was promised
34:11the chosen one spoken of in Aegon's prophecy like she believes that she is the fulfillment
34:15of the prophecy which we know is wrong.
34:18She starting to act a little more unhinged and I think ultimately that will start to
34:21so her downfall to make another reference back to the red sewing thinking that she is
34:26the princess who was promised and how that drives her decision making through season
34:29three Corliss meets with Alan about to set sail who takes the opportunity to clear the
34:33air with them about his entire terrible terrible childhood all this talk of him being too silent
34:38needing to act more like a leader is Corliss slowly warming up to the idea of naming Alan
34:43his heir and eventually legitimizing him.
34:46But then surprisingly maybe not surprisingly Alan calls him on it basically implying the
34:50Corliss only cares about him now because all of his previous heirs like his natural born
34:55children have died and he needs an heir.
34:57So you only care about us because you need an heir not because you actually care about
35:00us.
35:01He also implies that if he survives the war the dance the dragons here that he wants nothing
35:05from him and he will just go back to his old life before this like he doesn't want
35:09to be his heir essentially my assumption here is that he'll eventually come around on that
35:14and he will become Corliss's heir speaking of which then we get our big scene of Allison
35:18to Rhaenyra together again a parallel to earlier this season when Rhaenyra did the same thing
35:22sneaking into King's landing to try and see Allison does a lot you can say about this
35:27conversation I'm sure tumblers gonna have a field day with this Allison is basically
35:31confessing all her past misdeeds to Rhaenyra going back to when they were teenagers and
35:35when you started acting really pissed off and mean to her all the terrible things that
35:39she's ever done to her essentially all the way through eventually usurping the crown
35:43from like yeah sorry about all that weird stuff that I did to you and it feels that
35:46their dynamic is flip since earlier this season when they did the similar thing because now
35:50Rhaenyra is acting more like Allison did back then saying that it's too late for that.
35:55But essentially Allison betrays the greens asking Rhaenyra to sack King's landing bloodlessly
36:00and she'll just help turn over the iron throne to him because Aemon will be gone with Vhagar
36:04at Harrenhal leaving the city undefended and Helena won't have any trouble handing
36:08over the iron throne because he doesn't even want it to begin with that she's gone full
36:11Jon Snow.
36:12I don't want it, but Rhaenyra's it's too late comment is mostly reference to it being too
36:17late for them to spare Aegon's life.
36:20She says the only way that was that she thinks to secure her rule is to cut off his head
36:24for all to see in the way they leave things Allison seems like she's accepted this sad
36:29reality like this is going to end badly, but we know that Aegon sneaks away with Lara strong
36:34in according to Helena will eventually reclaim the iron throne from Rhaenyra.
36:38So this whole endeavor is definitely not ending the way that Rhaenyra thinks is going to end,
36:43but I absolutely cannot wait to see if Helena drops any dragon dreams in front of Rhaenyra
36:47because now we're can have Allison and Rhaenyra and Helena all in proximity to each other
36:51for at least part of season three Rhaenyra how do you feel about bugs when you can play
36:56with Helena for a little while.
36:57Maybe she'll tell you some of the future couple of important bits of information that Allison
37:01drops during their talk to things that I think we knew his fans, but she just confirms
37:05them Viserys was fond of Allison, but he never got over the death of his first wife Emma
37:10and was essentially obsessed with her for the rest of his life.
37:13So Allison was more like a distraction to him than like a very close loved one notice
37:18she also starts biting her fingers that was the nervous tick that she had when she was
37:21a teenager is wire fingers were so messed up in episode one.
37:25Then as she goes back to King's landing slowly we get that ending montage of all the different
37:29groups and characters all the dragon seeds suiting up in armor Hugh Hammer Adam hole
37:34notice the look on old white space to does that not seem problematic like he is definitely
37:38gonna cause some problems in season three.
37:40Then we see Rhaena finally finding the sheep stealer who yells at her, but we don't actually
37:45see her claiming him or writing him.
37:47They stop short of that.
37:48I guess they're just leaving that for like season three episode one I was really hoping
37:52we'd actually see her flying around on him.
37:54We see the Hightower army with Daeron and Tessarion flying next to them finally have
37:58Daeron on the show and Tessarion to boot please don't kill them off shortly in season
38:03three like want to see them around on the show for a little while then we see Craig
38:06and Starks graybeards marching through the twins basically the Winterfell army thanks
38:10to Jace help earlier this season speeding up their arrival.
38:13I don't see Craig and Stark in the crowd here, but he will be back in season three.
38:17He's a much bigger part of the dance the dragon story in the later part of the actual dance
38:22that was why they only just teased him at the beginning of the season like he doesn't
38:25really active in the actual story this early in the story.
38:28This is Jason Lannister's army marching into the Riverlands like they just arrived at the
38:33Riverlands here Daemon then clocking his Riverman this is Tylan Lannister Jason's twin sailing
38:39back to Westeros with the triarchy fleet that he was sent to procure.
38:43They're gonna be a big problem for Corlys Velaryon's fleet.
38:46Then we see Allan Hull and Corlys in their armor heading to their flagship preparing
38:50to fight the triarchy in the narrow sea, but they probably do not expect the triarchy to
38:54show up in real big surprise.
38:56We finally find out what's been going on with Otto Hightower this whole season.
39:00It seems like he got captured at some point when he was heading back to Highgarden by
39:03the Beesbury army and maybe it's Daeron and the Hightower army coming to rescue him here,
39:09but he does continue to be a part of the story during the events of season three.
39:12So like he will be back on the show.
39:13That's why they're showing you this tease of them here.
39:16This is also meant to pay off Allison in Gwaine Hightower's conversation earlier this season
39:20when neither one of them had had any Ravens back from Otto like they've been sending him
39:24messages but they hadn't got any replies because he been in prison this whole time.
39:28The ironic thing about this though the fact that Otto Hightower was thrown in prison probably
39:32by the Beesbury's is revenge for the death of Lord Beesbury is because he didn't have
39:36anything to do with his death that was all Kristen Cole who killed him Otto Hightower
39:40probably would have been happy to let him live.
39:42That was one of the jokes earlier this season when Aegon fired him because Aegon was like
39:46guess what Kristen Cole did and he just turns his head around slowly like tell me tell me
39:50what brilliant thing Kristen Cole just did.
39:53That's part of the reason why Eamon actually wanted him back at the small castle like find
39:57my grandfather bring him back because he's not an idiot like you guys.
40:01Then we see Aegon and Lara Strong sneaking out of King's Landing.
40:04So nobody will know that he's gone till their safely in Essos where Rhaenyra cannot behead
40:08him and they end on the shot of Rhaenyra thinking about Allison and Allison staring out at the
40:13sunset.
40:14There's so much they're trying to wrap up this season heading into season three generally
