00:20Witness, Jun Veneracion.
00:23On this map, you can see how close to Mariveles, Bataan, the shipwrecked MTKR Jason Bradley is.
00:34According to the Philippine Coast Guard, Jason Bradley sank 600 yards away from the shipwreck in the deep Chiamna Metro.
00:43Five barangays in Mariveles experienced an oil spill.
00:48In Barangay Moundview, not only the smell of oil is the problem of the residents,
00:53but also the taste of the oil in their food.
00:58I told my husband, let's stop eating because the smell of oil is really bad.
01:07These fish have been caught in four areas.
01:12But not a single fish was caught.
01:14We caught a lot of fish.
01:16This is what happened.
01:19We caught none.
01:22In Mariveles, Bataan, the MV Merola 1 is not safe.
01:26It is being monitored because there might be oil spills in the water.
01:30In the town of Limay, where the MTKR Terranova is being guarded,
01:36the fish sellers in the market are in a moodle fight.
01:39They say they need to do this because their income is falling
01:42because of the fear that their fish might be contaminated with oil.
01:46Don't be afraid to eat fish.
01:48The fish in Limay is safe.
01:50Two weeks before the oil spill starts in Terranova,
01:55because the metal capping needs to be replaced,
01:57the canvas that was covered by the valves of the ship.
02:00What we are waiting for now is the update of the salvor.
02:04If they are done with the sealing and capping of our valves,
02:11they will be submitting their reports.
02:13We will base on that report if we are going to proceed on the siphoning process.
02:19The third-party insurer of MTKR Terranova is in talks with Capitolio
02:24for the possible compensation to the affected residents.
02:27But the provincial government is not ignoring the possibility
02:31of filing a case against the owners of three ships.
02:35Our provincial legal office is currently studying the basis for filing a legal case.
02:45Cavite LGU said that they are also studying the class action lawsuit
02:50after the Peruvian oil spill.
02:54This is what DOJ is studying.
02:57We are looking into the angle of a class suit already.
02:59Of file beneficiaries against the owners and others who may be responsible for this.
03:05This is a great, not only a health hazard for everyone.
03:10Cavite declared a no-catch zone for all kinds of shellfish in affected areas.
03:18But several years ago, a few vendors in Kawit came here
03:21and cooked and ate shellfish to prove that it is safe to eat.
03:27In the latest text of the company owned by MTKR Terranova,
03:31it said that they will not answer the questions first.
03:34They will send the questions to their media relations company.
