With results days coming up soon, we ask people whether they think that exams are a fair way of assessing young people.

00:00I think it would be better, in fact, I think, for teachers to be able to measure the ability of children,
00:12because going into an exam, I remember myself, you can be extremely nervous and on edge.
00:19I suppose some children come under pressure. It's all according to what their disposition is.
00:25It must be stressful for them and worrying for them.
00:31But then, everybody's gone through a little cookie, Sam.
00:35Some of us have not come out so bright, and others have come out brilliant.
00:39That's the way the cookie crumbles, isn't it, love?
00:42Not everyone's cup of tea is sitting in the classroom and learning like that,
00:45and I think we need to cater for those people.
00:47It's unfair to give those people and say, look, you've got to sit in this classroom,
00:51when they might not want to.
00:52Some people, we all learn differently, but I think they do work well for the majority of people,
00:56but for the minority, we've also got to focus on them as well.
