00:00Welcome back everyone it's Charlie Marvel release the new fantastic four comic con trailer
00:14there's a ton of footage here we got our first teaser of what Galactus is going to actually
00:19look like and he looks way more comic book accurate than the space cloud version from
00:24the Chris Evans fantastic four movies.
00:26There's so much new footage will just start at the beginning of the trailer and go through
00:29shot by shot talking about Easter eggs WTF moments and it also sounds like based on what
00:34Marvel has said Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom might be coming from their universe to
00:39because the first time were supposed to see him in the movies as his Doctor Doom will
00:44be in the fantastic four movie post credit scene which makes sense Avengers five is now
00:48just being called Avengers doomsday coming out under a year after the fantastic four
00:53movie if you're brand-new to the channel be sure to subscribe to get all the videos is
00:57a bunch of comic con trailers and I'm still trying to work through so I'll try to do
01:00videos for those like the thunderbolts trailer in the new Captain America brave new world
01:04trailer after this to just starting at the beginning of the footage the comic con trailer
01:08played like it was old-timey highlight reel that was being filmed in universe for the
01:12citizens of that earth like an inside look at the fantastic four before their big mission
01:18to space where they're all gonna be getting their powers.
01:20This equation not only confirms alternate dimensions, it suggests that parallel earths
01:26exist on different dimensional planes.
01:29I don't know if it's gonna appear like this in the movie or they just filmed it like this
01:32for the actual comic con trailer like this will be footage that they played highlight
01:36reels in the movie because the movie itself is not meant to be an origin story.
01:40The way that Matt Shackman who did WandaVision directed the movie Kevin Feige talked about
01:45it is that when the movie picks up the already have their powers.
01:49So my assumption is that they'll either have some flashbacks like really brief explainers
01:53for this or this will be like highlight reels the play in the background and they'll just
01:56reference with their life was like before this all went down.
01:59You notice the footage in Kevin Feige also confirmed a comic con that this is going to
02:03be a period piece with the team coming for the 1960s 1963 1964 specifically in an alternate
02:10universe explaining how nobody in the MCU has ever known or talked about the fantastic
02:15war they come from a totally different universe at some point in the movie to the MCU.
02:20Some of the footage very specifically points this out like they're highlighting stuff that
02:23they're gonna be paying off later in the movie.
02:25The reel starts with the 1960s looking logo.
02:28Remember all this design is meant to be 1960s era Reed Richards is in the middle of leading
02:33a class showing them an equation that explains how alternate dimensions exist in the concept
02:38of parallel earths.
02:39We actually saw a version of Eric Selvig doing this during Thor the dark world to it's kind
02:43of his version of this inside the 1960s of this universe notice the writing on the board
02:47the equations look similar to Eric Selvig's writing and designs.
02:54He explains alternate dimensions the concept of parallel earths to them.
02:57It's something that's also referenced in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie careful for spoilers
03:01if you have not watched that movie yet because we talk about some specific connections to
03:05the fantastic four movie, but during that movie Chris Evans returns as a version of
03:09his Johnny Storm human torch from the original fantastic four movies.
03:14Also another universe like not connected to this version of fantastic four with Pedro
03:18Pascal's version the character, but when Chris Evans human torch meets Deadpool and Wolverine.
03:23He says that his version of Reed Richards told him about the theory of alternate universes
03:27alternate versions of earth those references the references in the fantastic four trailer
03:32at comic con here the stuff that we saw even in the marvels movie with the alternate universe
03:36the X-Men characters is meant to start paying off the multiverse saga like Doctor Strange
03:40multiverse of madness as well to avengers doomsday avengers secret wars were all these
03:45alternate dimensions alternate universes and different characters from them start to cross
03:49over we've started to see that a little bit like Doctor Strange multiverse of madness
03:53was the first real big example that Steven your arrival here confuses and destabilizes
03:59reality larger the footprint you leave behind the greater the risk of an incursion in part
04:04of the reason why he's saying this in this comic con trailer is because later in the
04:08movie this team their version the team winds of traveling to the MCU universe by the end
04:12of the movie somehow.
04:14So this will information dump here the Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards is doing in this mock
04:18info real is a set of concepts they're paying off later in the movie they have a funny moment
04:22in the trailer with the kids in the class acting like they're super bored and falling
04:26asleep.
04:27The movie is supposed to feature Franklin Richards and maybe Valeria Richards to their
04:31children I think that Franklin Richards is supposed to be born at some point during the
04:35movie and Galactus showing up will have something to do with Franklin Richards supposedly the
04:40movie is meant to get into some of their weird connection in the comics which is goes way
04:44back to a bunch of different stories across history Franklin Richards is supposed to be
04:48one of the most powerful characters in the marvel universe of the comics.
04:52He basically has the ability to create completely alternate universes in the more recent version
04:56of comic book secret wars his power is critical to the way they rebuild the multiverse after
05:02they get off a battle world wants to see a big explosion.
05:11Reed Richards fires up the rocket is going to power their spaceship in the classroom.
05:15All the kids get really excited.
05:17This is an aerial shot of New York City.
05:19This supertall structure is meant to be their version of the Baxter building the pad in
05:23the East River is the landing pad for their spaceship.
05:26They're calling this the Excelsior launch pad in the movie, which is a huge Stanley
05:30reference a lot of longtime comic book fans will remember this Excelsior is one of Stanley's
05:35longtime catchphrases part of the idea the fantastic four is that they are marvel's first
05:44family is one of Stanley's very first big comic book teams the introduced in the comics
05:49they came before the Avengers before the X-Men I think the first time the Stanley ever use
05:54the Excelsior phrase was in a 1968 soapbox column.
05:58They're using the term in the movie with the meaning the Stanley used in real life.
06:01It's meant to mean upward onward to greater glory at comic con they gave away these souvenir
06:07maps with all the designs from the movie based on movie itself it shows you a map of what
06:11their version New York City looks like this is meant to be Yancey Street from the comics
06:15down in lower Manhattan zoom and enhance notice the other really important thing around the
06:19city is the references to subterranean their entrances all over the city.
06:23It's a reference to mole man in the comics.
06:26Maybe we'll see a version of him at some point in the movie.
06:28This is what the fantastic car look like they actually flew a drone powered real light version
06:33around in comic con the reason why you're not seeing any wires as it's flying around
06:37the comic con audience is because it's flying on a balloon drone down a governor's island
06:41here on the map notice is a fantastic for clean energy facility making it seem like
06:45Reed Richards in this timeline develops clean energy in the 1960s completely changing the
06:51way technology on this earth develops.
06:53I think that's meant to give this version of earth the retrofuturism vibes based on
06:57real-life art history like this is meant to be what it looks like on their earth right
07:01now we see footage of them suiting up in their spacesuits powering up their rocket Reed Richards
07:06calls Ben Grimm the best pilot in the world who jokes he's the best looking that's meant
07:10to be a bit of a ironic twist because he becomes the thing and then thinks he's the most hideous
07:14thing on planet earth you probably recognize Eben Moss Bacharach he also played micro during
07:19the Punisher series.
07:20He's also fantastic to make a fantastic for pun on the bear.
07:24I'm pretty sure that this means that he will not return as his version of micro though
07:28totally happy to see him as the thing now in the MCU like this is a huge upgrade for
07:32him.
07:33He actually said that they're doing his version of the thing motion capture like they did
07:37with beast recently in the marvels post-credits scene and obviously Mark Ruffalo's version
07:41the whole in now red whole to because we have Harrison Ford red whole he actually said Mark
07:45Ruffalo helped him learn to work with the motion capture of it all to because Mark Ruffalo's
07:49probably done more motion capture than any other actor in the marvel universe you hear
07:53Sue Storm showing them around the Baxter building showing them where the kitchen is to these
07:57reporters as they show footage of the fantastic car taking off Reed Richards then says that
08:02they make a point to have a family dinner once a week with them interviewing them inside
08:06the Baxter building like inside their home.
08:08He says Sunday every week on the dot emphasizing the family aspect of the team notice the clothes
08:14they're wearing to it seems like a lot of the movie will show footage of them from before
08:18their accident giving them powers.
08:20But I like I said most of the movie will not be in origin story select the already have
08:24their powers pretty early in the movie when he says no matter what like we're all here
08:28no matter what for family dinner that feels like a line they'll pay off later in the movie
08:32when things get real in Galactus shows up they show a wider shot of them leaving the
08:37Baxter building in their new spacesuits is like the first time that they go on a mission
08:40to space pipe before they get their powers.
08:43This footage is kind of blurry so I can't quite make out the designs of the fantastic
08:46four suits themselves then there's footage of them after they get their powers on a parody
08:51of the dating game TV show from real life that was an actual TV show, but this one is
08:55called let's make a match with the woman picking Ben Grimm out of the lineup of the three of
08:59them like I pick contestant number three in his giant Ben Grimm in thing form.
09:04This is them powering on their spaceship before they get their powers notice the patch on
09:08their spacesuits has all four of their names on it.
09:11This is meant to be footage of them getting ready for their first big mission to space
09:14going around the table everybody sounding off with Sue Storm joking about Johnny Storm
09:19calling him her baby brother saying ladies he's very single.
09:31My guess is that I can a play this version of Johnny Storm is big of a butthole as Chris
09:35Evans version of Johnny Storm that was the whole joke of his character is that he was
09:39a really big butthole Deadpool even made fun of it extensively during the Deadpool and
09:43Wolverine movie very different personality from his version of Steve Rogers Captain America
09:48during the comic con trailer.
09:50This is meant to be mission control with their spaceship lifting off from the launch pad
09:54the Excelsior launch pad you can see the camera pan around the actual spaceship itself.
09:58Then they have a choir singing the fantastic four theme song.
10:02I don't know if this is what the final theme song for them in the movie is going to be
10:05like or if they'll change it.
10:14They do the fantastic four old-timey 1960's logo which transitions into an old-timey Marvel
10:19Studios logo that looks like it's from the 1960's and they also reveal the new title
10:24for the movie fantastic four first steps which I think is meant to be a reference to Neil
10:29Armstrong's quote from the first moon landing one small step for man one giant leap for
10:34mankind you remember though in real life that happened in 1969 this movie takes place
10:40in like the early 1960's like late 1963 early 1964 just based on the first teaser they released
10:46with Lyndon B. Johnson on the cover of time magazine that was published in real life like
10:51this is based on a real-life magazine after the Kennedy assassination which happened in
10:551963 the magazine came out much later that year that of course this fantastic four comic
11:01con trailer has a post credit scene.
11:03Of course they would put a post credit scene in the comic con trailer with Galactus showing
11:07up outside the windows of what looks like the Baxter building on their version of earth
11:12Galactus just taking a peek inside the Baxter building looking to see where everybody is
11:16boy you're Galactus also notice that is daytime on their earth when he's doing this to so
11:22Galactus is standing on earth while this is happening like is probably leaning way down
11:27like peeking inside the building he probably has to kneel to do this.
11:30Like I said, I think part of the idea in the movie is that Galactus is interested in
11:34Franklin Richards like he's the whole reason why he's peeking in the building here maybe
11:38here's we get to the Doctor Doom of it all supposedly Doctor Doom is meant to be a huge
11:43character during this movie he'll just be reference at the end of the film.
11:46This was before they revealed that Robert Downey Jr. was can be playing Doctor Doom
11:50in avengers doomsday and secret wars what might be happening is they reveal Doctor Doom
11:55in the mask like the concept of Doctor Doom in the background at the end of the movie
11:59and we just don't see that is Robert Downey Jr. under the mask in this or in the post
12:04credit scene whenever he does show up.
12:06My assumption is that the wait till avengers doomsday to have the reveal where he actually
12:10takes the mask off and all the other avengers characters that are fighting him.
12:14See that he looks just like their friend who died during avengers endgame like wait a minute
12:19is Tony but then they have that big WTF reaction where Doctor Doom says I don't know who Tony
12:23Stark is like who you talking about that's not me.
12:26My name is Victor Von Doom and proceeds to waste all the main 616 avengers I've already
12:31been a much bigger video on what's going on with his version of Doctor Doom and how they're
12:35explaining him in avengers doomsday and secret wars and basically turning avengers 5 into
12:40more of a time runs out adaptation in secret wars being a little bit more like the more
12:44recent secret wars combined with the old secret wars in him becoming a version of God Emperor
12:49Doom it makes a little more sense what they wanted to do like why they think he's so important
12:53and he's kind of like the new version of Thanos inside the MCU like the overarching
12:57villain this the big boss that everybody's trying to stop the difference with his character
13:01though like he said during the comic con teaser when they revealed him.
13:05He said new mask same task the same task is basically saving the multiverse.
13:10So the idea I think is that in avengers doomsday he thinks he's doing something to save the
13:14multiverse but in doing so winds up doing a lot of what comic book time runs out Doctor
13:19Doom does destroying other universes in order to preserve what he thinks is left of the
13:24multiverse.
13:25So part of the idea is that he comes the 616 universe and says your universe has to die
13:29in order for the multiverse to survive in the main avengers like no we're not gonna
13:33let that happen.
13:34Thus the conflict with his character with him turning into more of a version of God
13:38Emperor Doom in secret wars and then having to stop him like no no no you save the earth,
13:42but this is not right because it winds up turning into more of a version of battle world
13:46kind of like the void.
13:48Don't worry that's kind of getting into the weeds on those movies.
13:50So once we get more details all do more videos about that just because there's still a lot
13:54of unanswered questions for the most part the fantastic four movie is just the self-contained
13:58movie in the 1960s of this alternate universe the really only connecting it to avengers
14:03doomsday and secret wars in like the post credit scene the very very end of the movie
