FANTASTIC FOUR_ New Footage, Doctor Doom, Franklin Richards & Trailer Easter Eggs You Missed

00:00Welcome back everyone, it's Charlie.
00:12We got another first look at the fantastic four movie.
00:14There's a bunch of Easter eggs here references.
00:16So will break it all down.
00:18We've already gotten a larger comic-con trailer and a lot of the footage they've already shown
00:22off shows the team before they get their powers.
00:25But now were finally starting to see what they look like after they get their powers.

00:32in the middle of filming the movie.
00:34So that's why we're starting to actually get footage from the sets were starting to see
00:37what the movie looks like.
00:39This next clip is a Ben Grimm the thing played by Eben Moss Bacharach during the comic-con
00:43trailer.
00:44You actually hear Reed Richards talking to the camera with him during what seems like
00:47a documentary in universe that the United States is doing about their team before they
00:52go on their mission and get their powers.
01:00Like this is all before they get into the accident that gives them powers.
01:03Notice that the footage of him with his powers in his thing form looks like he's wearing
01:08a physical suit on set.
01:10Kind of like the classic fantastic four movies that we just saw Chris Evans come back as
01:13his Johnny Storm from those movies in Deadpool and Wolverine foul mouth is ever Chris Evans
01:19said that was one of the conditions for him actually coming back like he told Ryan Reynolds
01:22you have to let me be is foul mouth is possible because he never got to do that is Captain
01:27America language.
01:28Also he said they had to leave that scene of him the post-credits scene in the movie
01:32they couldn't cut it out.
01:34But for the new fantastic four movie Eben Moss Bacharach actually revealed before they
01:38started filming that they were going to be doing his thing as motion capture just like
01:42they did for the new Kelsey Grammer version of Beast during the marvels post-credits scene
01:47the Hulk that they done for all the marvel movies also red Hulk now to which is all traditional
01:53motion capture.
01:54So my assumption is they just built this physical thing suit for him to wear in some scenes
01:59to help approximate the scale when he's with the other characters is a little bit of footage
02:03of him in the comic-con trailer you see them walking to the launch pad like their Excelsior
02:07launch pad which is a big Stanley Easter egg course I can't leave without saying so you
02:14can actually see where the Baxter building in their launch pad is in Manhattan in their
02:18version of New York City.
02:20I think because they release this trailer before they actually really started filming
02:24the movie a lot is just meant to be more of a concept trailer that marvel release for
02:28the purposes of comic-con in the actual movie all this footage will be shown on like a highlight
02:33reel in the background of the scene because the movie isn't meant to be an origin story
02:37so like the already have their powers when the actual movie picks up in the probably
02:41just reference their origin story throughout the movie like someone will see this footage
02:45of them from before their accident during the movie while they have their powers in
02:50the actual adventure the movie is playing out.
02:52So the wasn't clear he's not can actually look like this during the movie little tune
02:56him way up with motion capture visual effects.
02:59If you've ever seen Robert Downey Jr. or his stunt doubles walking around on sets as his
03:03version of Iron Man.
03:05Sometimes the walk around sets with just the chest piece in the helmet or like just the
03:09helmet sometimes are just the chest piece sometimes not the actual entire suit that
03:13like a physical suit at least since the original Iron Man movies like for a little while they
03:17did use an actual physical suit make him walk around on on set.
03:22But eventually they just started doing Iron Man mostly as motion capture.
03:25So you see him walking around most of the time with a suit with dots all over himself.
03:29So he doesn't have to actually wear the suit was probably the same deal for a lot of the
03:33things scenes, but they do need some visual effects references so that when the people
03:37are working on in post-production.
03:39They actually have something to reference it to so they know the scale I just did a
03:43video about Marvel's new announcement that they're bringing Ultron back for the white
03:47vision TV show and is going to be James Spader coming back to play Ultron they did Ultron
03:52the exact same way in Avengers age of Ultron like James Spader spent most of his time on
03:56set and on a special motion capture stage in a suit with dots on it Mark Ruffalo calls
04:01it the man canceling suit because it's so tight it makes it look like he's not a man
04:05like he doesn't have a Junker balls like can't tell these men if you didn't see his
04:08face.
04:09Ebon Moss Bacharach said that Mark Ruffalo actually gave him a quick class in motion
04:13capture acting for Marvel movies.
04:15He's done that for a lot of actors to that have done motion capture just because he said
04:19more motion capture than the majority of Marvel actors.
04:23The only other person who actually comes close would be Andy Serkis who played Ulysses claw,
04:28but that's not a motion capture role all of Andy Serkis is motion capture experience mostly
04:32comes from Lord of the Rings movies like Gollum the hobbit movies also from all the
04:36planet the apes movies is Caesar.
04:38So a lot of times other movies when they're doing motion capture will bring Andy Serkis
04:42or even like Mark Ruffalo on to give advice to actors when they have to do the same thing
04:47the other really big detail here that most people are talking about is the actual fantastic
04:51four suits that he like Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm are wearing.
04:55It looks more like the classic ones from the original comics the 60's like loose cloth
05:00suits because the whole movie is meant to have the vibe of a period piece from the 60's
05:05the present day movie is still in the 1960's in an alternate universe that they come from
05:09both he and Johnny Storm are wearing the exact same version of the suit Ben Grimm's is just
05:14like a bigger version of that suit.
05:16They release a much better look at it in the D23 teaser that they release is kind of funny
05:20that they're all sitting here looking totally normal, but Johnny Storm is the only one wearing
05:24his suit that's because they just started filming and Kevin Feige had them film this
05:29just to do the reveal for the actual suits.
05:31That's why Ben Grimm doesn't actually look like the thing because this is actually meant
05:36to be footage from the movie is more of a behind the scenes kind of first look just
05:40for the suit itself probably the other biggest new thing literally and metaphorically is
05:45Galactus and Franklin Richards.
05:48This is actually Sue Storm with baby Franklin Richards like he's going to be born during
05:52the events of the movie.
05:54So a lot of people have realized the movies called fantastic four first steps that the
05:57official title, even though it sounds kind of like a weird title.
06:00It's a reference to a couple different concepts Neil Armstrong's quote from the moon landing
06:05one small step for man one giant leap for mankind because the team are meant to be pioneers
06:10in the world that they come from in the world of science Reed Richards coming up with a
06:14theory about alternate universes existing.
06:16We can actually hear him talking about a giving a lecture during the trailer they released
06:20a comic con and the first steps is also a literal reference to baby Franklin Richards
06:25being born and actually taking his real first steps like a child's literal first steps one
06:31small step for a baby fantastic four character one giant leap for fantastic four team as
06:37they meet giant Galactus the actual current report in the movie is that one of the reasons
06:42the Galactus probably shows up to their earth is because he senses Franklin Richards power
06:47when he's born in the comics Franklin Richards is one of the most powerful people in the
06:52Marvel universe.
06:53He's one of the only things or people the Galactus is actually afraid of eventually
06:58Galactus becomes the herald of Franklin Richards there's even adventure were like an older
07:03version of Franklin Richards meets with the younger version of himself.
07:07He winds up reviving Galactus turning him into his herald.
07:10It's a crazy story.
07:11I don't expect the movies to take it that far yet, but we might see some loose references
07:15to that because I think for the most part in next couple movies through avengers secret
07:19wars Franklin Richards will still be very very young, but one of Franklin Richards key
07:24abilities is the power to create entire alternate universes during the more modern version of
07:30secret wars that they're borrowing from from the upcoming avengers six movie in the MCU
07:35is they used Franklin Richards power at the end of that to help recreate the multiverse
07:40that all the different characters could go back to their original universes.
07:44I would not be surprised if we see some versions of that in the upcoming avengers five and
07:48avengers six movies like the plots of those movies will be different from the comics will
07:52be an exact carbon copy paste, but they'll be some loose references to some moments from
07:56those comics and Kevin Feige did reveal that the new fantastic four team will be in both
08:02of those upcoming avengers movies.
08:04The other really big reveal that Marvel has made recently is that Robert Downey Jr's new
08:09Doctor Doom character will be the Doctor Doom are supposed to be the Doctor Doom of this
08:14fantastic four's universe like he'll come from their universe.
08:18The first time were supposed to actually see him in live action like in the movies
08:21is supposed to be at the end of this new fantastic four movie.
08:24I don't know that means post credit scene or if it's going to be during the actual and
08:28part of the movie because supposedly Doctor Doom will play a small role in the film, but
08:32like I said the movie is meant to be an origin story.
08:35So they'll have already been on a lot of their adventures and faced a lot of their villains
08:39when the movie picks up.
08:40So they might have already face this Robert Downey Jr. version of Doctor Doom at some
08:44point in their universe.
08:46Most of the big questions about Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom is what his actual back story
08:50is going to be in that universe like was he born Doctor Doom was he adopted by the Von
08:56Doom family and that's why he looks like Tony Stark from the 616 Marvel universe.
09:01We have seen variants of characters on Loki and on other series in the movies like Deadpool
09:06and Wolverine for instance with variants of characters that look different from the original
09:10versions like very very different looking, but because Marvel tends to hand wave over
09:15a lot of details like this.
09:17I wouldn't get too deep into the weeds on it.
09:19They might just wave their hand and say that he just Victor Von Doom from an alternate
09:23universe and there's no special back story like he wasn't adopted or anything he just
09:27happens to be Victor Von Doom in that universe.
09:30My guess is that what happens is that we won't actually see his face as Robert Downey Jr.
09:35like we won't recognize him as Robert Downey Jr. until one of the Avengers movies like
09:39Avengers 5 Doomsday.
09:40So the first time he actually shows up in the fantastic four movie he'll be under the
09:45mask.
09:46So it'll still be a bit of a mystery, even though we all know that he's gonna be Doctor
09:49Doom.
09:50So like the people watching the movie or to be clued into who he really is.
09:53I think part of the twist that they're looking for in Avengers 5 Doomsday is when he comes
09:57to the MCU like the 616 universe and starts fighting all the regular new Avengers characters
10:03who knew Tony Stark.
10:05It's meant to be really shocking reveal in the movie when his mask falls off any looks
10:09just like their friend who died during Avengers endgame.
10:12So the probably saving the reveal for like a big twist like that during Avengers 5.
10:16Like oh my God, wait a minute is a Tony Stark and then he fights them tries to kill a bunch
10:21of them and like wait a minute know why is Tony Stark trying to kill us.
10:24One of the changes that I am expecting for the character is that he won't speak with
10:28the traditional lot bearing an accent like he'll just sound like normal Robert Downey
10:31Jr.
10:32Although Robert Downey Jr. has recently done roles where he's altered his voice for other
10:37characters.
10:38I do not expect them to do that for his character in Avengers 5 and Avengers 6 because he will
10:42probably get a lot a lot of dialogue in him doing a weird accent for like a little bit
10:47for like a brief second isn't that big of deal, but I think he's going to be in most
10:52of both of those movies and talking a lot than they wanted to sound like normal Robert
10:56Downey Jr.
10:57Maybe like a slightly more boomy imperious sounding version of Robert Downey Jr.'s normal
11:02voice but not like a weird accent.
11:05I guess I'd rather see more European version of Doctor Doom like someone who actually sounds
11:09like what you think Doctor Doom is meant to sound like in the comics, but I think as long
11:13as Robert Downey Jr.'s version isn't totally lame and it makes a little bit of sense.
11:18It'll probably be okay just because he will not continue to be Doctor Doom like the main
11:22Doctor Doom after secret wars.
11:25So if you're hoping for more comic book accurate Doctor Doom I think will eventually get that,
