00:00Another angle came out in the hearing of the Chamber regarding the illegal potions in the country.

00:05Aside from the connection between illegal potions and illegal drugs,

00:09it is also possible that this has something to do with the illegal purchase of land by some Chinese here in the Philippines.

00:15For now, Tina Panganiban Perez has the news.

00:19A matrix was shown in the Chamber of the connection between illegal potions and illegal purchase of land in some provinces.

00:28The matrix was formed based on the information found by the Chamber

00:32from the sale of 3.6 billion pesos worth of shabu in Mexico, Pampanga, in 2023.

00:40There are some incorporators who asked the owner of the warehouse where the drugs were sold,

00:45which is connected to various corporations,

00:48like Pharmaly, which was involved in overpricing medical supplies to the government during the COVID pandemic.

00:55The answer from Pharmaly is Michael Yang.

00:58There seems to be a link regarding the ownership of drugs by these companies.

01:07The House Committee on Dangerous Drugs issued an arrest order against Michael Yang

01:12because of his involvement in the committee's invitations.

01:16Yang's lawyer, attorney Raymond Fortun, refused to comment on the matrix.

01:22The GMA Integrated News is also trying to get a reaction from those who were mentioned.

01:27Fernandez said that Michael Yang's brother was in a transaction with suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Goh.

01:34These issues are also connected to the investigation by the House Committee on Public Accounts

01:40that illegal purchase of Chinese nationals' land in Pampanga to be used as pogo sites.

01:47It was established also that those so many hectares of land are being bought

01:54by the different corporations whose incorporators are proven to be Chinese nationality.

02:02We all know that there's a constitutional prohibition for foreigners to own land in our country.

02:07We saw that there was an enablement of sale to the foreigners.

02:13Allegedly, this is assisted by no less than the LGU.

02:17Based on what I saw and my appreciation of the evidence,

02:21I think it's a money laundering scheme of drug syndicates that are passing through Pogo.

02:30Some lawmakers clarified that not all of the names in the matrix are connected to illegal activities.

02:36Their investigation is ongoing to find out who is really involved.

02:42Along with the possible legislation that will result in these investigations,

02:47there will be restrictions on obtaining Filipino birth certificates and Filipino passports and buying land.
