00:00:19neck and then I'm gonna choke the shit out of you, you hear my brother, keep away no
00:00:22colors in this neighborhood, get that fucking jacket off.
00:00:34What?

00:00:57I'll get him to stay down.

00:00:59Oh shit!
00:01:00Henry!
00:01:01I've had nothing but trouble since I met Benny.
00:01:11I've seen more jails, I've been to more courts, I met more lawyers, I mean it can't be love,
00:01:18it must just be stupidity.
00:01:19And then they said it's for the kids, you know, everybody should bring their kids.
00:01:20They bring the kids and all the husbands are stoned for wives, you know, or bitching at
00:01:21the husbands.
00:01:22I don't think it's good to bring the kids.
00:01:23Huh?
00:01:24I don't think it's good to bring the kids.
00:01:25Yeah.
00:01:26Especially when the guy's a drinker.
00:01:27Well, you know, Johnny says it's a family picnic, his kids, what are you talking about?
00:01:28Yeah, but he don't get stoned if it's mine, either.
00:01:29I don't think it's good to bring the kids.
00:01:30Huh?
00:01:31I don't think it's good to bring the kids.

00:01:48And she said that the guys were having a meeting there.
00:01:49I walked in there and I had white Levi's on, I had a, uh, sweater on, you know, and I
00:01:50looked and the first guy I seen was Porky.

00:03:40Hey.
00:03:41I'm Benny.
00:03:42Hello.
00:03:43Well, so what are we doing here?
00:03:44Just, uh, shooting the breeze?
00:03:45Yeah, I guess.
00:03:46Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:47Oh.
00:03:48Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:49Oh.
00:03:50Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:51Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:52Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:53Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:54Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:55Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:56Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:57Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:58Well, I gotta go home.
00:03:59Well, I gotta go home.
00:04:00Well, I gotta go home.
00:04:01Well, I gotta go home.

00:04:05Well, I gotta go home.
00:04:06Well, I gotta go home.
00:04:07Well, I gotta go home.
00:04:09Oh.
00:04:10OK.
00:04:20You gotta go.
00:04:29What is this, a robbery buffet?
00:04:31What's your name?
00:04:32Kathy.
00:04:33Well, Kathy, uh...
00:04:35Uh, don't worry.
00:04:37Don't worry about what?
00:04:39Nothing. I'm Johnny. I'm the president of this club.
00:04:42And, uh, the guys, they just want to have some fun, you know?
00:04:47But I'm only a magnate.
00:04:49Yeah, what's going to happen to me?
00:04:50Nothing.
00:04:51Ha ha, okay, well, thanks for that. You know, nice to meet you. Adios, I gotta go.
00:04:59So I walk out the front door real nice, you know, being grabbed about five times.
00:05:02When I got outside, I could see all my slacks were just, just handprints all over me.
00:05:07So I'm standing on the bus corner thinking, oh my God, you know, something's going to happen to me.
00:05:32I'm bloodied.
00:05:56So he's going through the stop lights and everything, probably so I wouldn't jump off.
00:05:58And I wouldn't have jumped off anyway, you know, I was scared shitless.
00:06:01I've never been on a motorcycle in all my life.
00:06:03Well, finally we got out on the expressway and that's when it happened, you know.
00:06:06That's when I saw Mom for the first time, you know, like really saw her.
00:06:31I mean, I have to admit, it took my breath away.
00:06:41See, Kathy, I told you I had nothing to worry about.
00:06:50I just want to go out with you, that's all.
00:06:51Do you want a drink?
00:07:00But I didn't get home till nearly four in the morning.
00:07:02That's why I'd never go with them guys again, never, because they're just like animals, you know.
00:07:05I mean, they didn't talk the same way I did.
00:07:06It was everything after this and after that.
00:07:08By the time the night was over, I mean, my ears were ringing from listening to them old bragging.
00:07:11So Benny brought me home and my boyfriend, he was sitting on the front porch.
00:07:14All right, good night, adios.
00:07:17Where the hell have you been?
00:07:18I never want to see them guys again, they're real idiots.
00:08:00Benny planted himself there all night and wouldn't go home.
00:08:06You better go home.
00:08:10If my boyfriend gets back from work and you're still sitting there, he's going to be pissed.
00:08:13You're crazy.
00:08:20What are you doing?
00:08:24What happened?
00:08:26I don't understand.
00:08:31I don't understand what you're saying.
00:08:37Are you insane?
00:08:42I'm not insane.
00:08:47I told him to leave, but he didn't leave.
00:08:48Well, you better go get rid of him.
00:08:49No, you go get rid of him.
00:08:50I told him already.
00:08:51This is bullshit, man.
00:08:52Hurry.
00:08:53I don't need this shit, you know?
00:08:54Don't need what?
00:08:55What do you want me to do?
00:08:56I'm done.
00:08:57Hurry up.
00:08:58I'm done.
00:09:17I'm done.
00:09:31Wanna go to a meeting?
00:09:35Five weeks later, I married him.
00:10:17No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
00:10:47It took several police cars and motorcycle units from Elmwood Park, Norwich, Erwitt Heights, and St. Charles to stop a motorcycle driver Thursday in a wild ride that ended amongst the farmland on Highway 64.
00:11:04Benjamin Cross of Elmwood Park was arrested and charged with 18 traffic violations, but not before reportedly running through seven stoplights, hitting speeds over 85 miles an hour in two 20-mile-an-hour school zones, and causing damage to four municipal vehicles as a result of the pursuit.
00:11:23Cross is free on a $2,500 bond and will stand trial in Park Ridge Traffic Court on December 9th.
00:11:28How many stoplights did you have?
00:11:31They said seven, so...
00:11:33So what?
00:11:35So I guess that's the number.
00:11:37I felt like more...
00:11:39Johnny always loved Benny.
00:11:41Why?
00:11:43Because Johnny always wanted what Benny had.
00:11:45And what's that?
00:11:46To not care about nothing.
00:11:47Hey! Diggie, tell them guys to get their bikes off the grass!
00:11:50Jeez.
00:11:51My ex-in-laws live right across the street.
00:11:53They see these bikes here all the time.
00:11:55So tell me more about Johnny.
00:11:56Like what?
00:11:57I don't know, like how he started the club.
00:11:59You know how he started the club?
00:12:00I heard he was watching TV.
00:12:01You know, Johnny's not like the rest of these guys.
00:12:03You know, how they're all bums.
00:12:04I mean, he's not a swearer or nothing, but Johnny's got a good job, you know?
00:12:06He's had the same job as long as I've known about him.
00:12:08What was that?
00:12:09Truck driver.
00:12:10He's a truck driver, you know, short roads, you know, like the Midwest.
00:12:11But I mean, he's got a family.
00:12:12Right.
00:12:13Yeah.
00:12:14Two daughters, his wife, Betty.
00:12:15She's all right, you know?
00:12:16I mean, a lot of these girls, woof, I can't stand to be around.
00:12:18Because it's always, you know, that's my man.
00:12:20Don't be looking at my man, you know?
00:12:21But Betty, she's not like that.
00:12:22What do you mean by Johnny was watching TV?
00:12:25He was watching Marlon Brando on TV and got the idea for the club.
00:12:28I mean, that's what I heard, anyway.
00:12:30Oh.
00:12:33Like Rebels Motorcycle Club.
00:12:34Isn't that cute?
00:12:35Hey, Johnny, why are you rebelling again?
00:12:37What do you got?
00:12:39What do you got?
00:12:40What?
00:12:42Nothing.
00:12:44No, but really how the club started was it was a racing club.
00:12:53Yeah.
00:12:59You ever seen Johnny Race?
00:13:00What did he say?
00:13:01He was good.
00:13:02You know, him and Jamie Goodpaster had a racing club.
00:13:03Goodpaster?
00:13:04Yeah.
00:13:05You know him.
00:13:06He's got that VSC shop out past Hyde Park.
00:13:07Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:13:08Mustache.
00:13:09What?
00:13:10He's got a thin mustache.
00:13:11Yeah, yeah.
00:13:12Well, they had a racing club together.
00:13:13I'm thinking of starting a riding club.
00:13:14Why?
00:13:15I don't know.
00:13:16There's something to do, you know?
00:13:17What do you want to start a riding club for?
00:13:18All those clubs do is sit around talking about motorcycles.
00:13:20That's what we do.
00:13:21Yeah, we talk about them, and then we race them.
00:13:22What good did you do to talk about them if you're good at racing?
00:13:24So they split up, and about 12 guys turned out to be vandals.
00:13:27They were the first, you know?
00:13:28So that's what it got to, the first guys at least.
00:13:30That's where the first guys come from.
00:13:31It was the racing club club.
00:13:32Yeah.
00:13:33And who all was that?
00:13:34Well, it was Wahoo and Corky.
00:13:35I know that.
00:13:36My name's Wahoo.
00:13:37I ride a Harley-Doole Glider.
00:13:38I'm from Chicago, Illinois.
00:13:39I've been a vandal for about five years now.
00:13:42They call me Corky.
00:13:43I ride Wahoos all day.
00:13:44Oh, the fuck you do?
00:13:45Ah!
00:13:46He doesn't.
00:13:47Percy was one of them.
00:13:48Percy was one of them.
00:13:49He was Johnny's right hand from the beginning.
00:13:50He was an electrician.
00:13:51Well, everyone wants to be part of something.
00:13:53I mean, that's what it really is.
00:13:55These guys don't belong nowhere else, so they belong together, you know?
00:13:59I can't explain it to my parents.
00:14:00They don't understand the way I live.
00:14:02These bike riders...
00:14:05A lot of people seem to think that bikes lead to something negative.
00:14:08That's why they think guys ride them.
00:14:09They think it leads to something obscene.
00:14:11I don't know why, but...
00:14:13But obscenity and motorcycles travel hand in hand.
00:14:16That's what everybody thinks anyway.
00:14:17Why?
00:14:18I guess, uh...
00:14:19Everybody needs somebody to pick on.
00:14:22Can you think of anyone better than us?
00:14:25I'm from California.
00:14:26I look at a scooter, man, that's completely chopped, man, and every part on it,
00:14:30he either made himself, man, or bought special for it, you know?
00:14:33You look at that dude, man.
00:14:34That dude's a vandal, you see?
00:14:35Let's say you, uh...
00:14:36Let's say you take a guy and buy him a brand new Harley Davidson.
00:14:38Fully equipped.
00:14:41There'll always be a motherfucker that comes along and says,
00:14:43well, I got one exactly like yours.
00:14:45Because he can get exactly like his.
00:14:47But all shoppers are different.
00:14:48Every one of them is different.
00:14:49No matter how much you like your building.
00:14:50You know what I mean?
00:14:51Because everybody's smelling different.
00:14:53When I was about 15 years old, my father brought me an Indian four-cylinder.
00:14:57Motorcycle.
00:14:59I liked to be dirty.
00:15:00I'll go out of my way to put filth on my clothes.
00:15:02Dirt on my pants, dirt on my face.
00:15:03Mess up my hair.
00:15:04Then eat bugs.
00:15:05A bug isn't really bad to eat.
00:15:06It's all in a person's mind.
00:15:07Now, if you will eat a raw beef sandwich, or you will eat a rare steak,
00:15:10a bug won't hurt you anymore.
00:15:11And what about zip code?
00:15:12And what about tips?
00:15:13You know anything about him?
00:15:14Oh, he was from Latvia.
00:15:15Right.
00:15:16Do you know when he joined the club?
00:15:17Zip code?
00:15:18I don't know.
00:15:19He's just always been there.
00:15:22What?
00:15:25I never understood it.
00:15:26You know, you get all these guys.
00:15:27None of them can follow a rule to save their lives, you know?
00:15:29The whole point of these guys is that they can't follow rules, you know?
00:15:31You put them together, and they get in this club, and all of a sudden,
00:15:33they start making up all these rules for everybody to follow.
00:15:35It's ridiculous.
00:15:36I mean, it's absolutely ridiculous, you know?
00:15:37But this one time, someone challenged Johnny for the leadership of the club, you know?
00:15:40That's one of these crazy rules, is that anybody can challenge Johnny if they really want to,
00:15:43but of course, you know, none of them want to because they're all bums,
00:15:45and none of them want the responsibility.
00:15:46But this one time, this guy Jack, big guy, I mean, real big guy,
00:15:48I mean, you know, Big Jack, they call him.
00:15:49Fat Jack.
00:15:50What?
00:15:51Wasn't it Fat Jack?
00:15:52No, he wasn't one out of Toledo.
00:15:53This guy was, well, I don't know.
00:15:54Anyway, this Big Fat Jack guy says...
00:15:55Hey, I got a question.
00:15:56Wait your turn.
00:15:57Let me finish.
00:15:59Now, we're going to get the phone installed behind the bar there,
00:16:01but Johnny has to put that on his personal account.
00:16:03Why does he got to do that?
00:16:04I don't know.
00:16:06Why does he got to do that?
00:16:07Because that's the way the phone company has to set it up.
00:16:09Clubs should pay for what they have to do,
00:16:10that way we can use it how we want.
00:16:11It don't work like that.
00:16:12Then why not?
00:16:13Shut up a minute.
00:16:14Shut the fuck up!
00:16:15Now, listen.
00:16:16We need a phone back there in case anybody gets in trouble, all right?
00:16:19Now, you got thrown in jail, or you need bail, you call here.
00:16:22You get stuck out someplace on your bike, you call here.
00:16:25But the first time we get a bill,
00:16:27where you've been calling your fat fucking girlfriend out,
00:16:29and he's, what the fuck,
00:16:30we're going to take that phone,
00:16:31and we're going to put knots on your head with it.
00:16:33Understand?
00:16:34Now, I got a question.
00:16:35I got some friends in Milwaukee.
00:16:36They like what we're doing out here,
00:16:37and asked if they could join up,
00:16:38start a vandals chapter out there.
00:16:41No.
00:16:42Why not?
00:16:46What the fuck are we in for?
00:16:47This is our club.
00:16:48We are in this town here.
00:16:50We are all friends here.
00:16:52I don't know these guys.
00:16:54You know them.
00:16:55We drank with them on that last run to Columbus.
00:16:58Oh.
00:17:00I say no.
00:17:04Well, I say we let them start a chapter.
00:17:06Hey, you said if any of us disagrees with you,
00:17:08we could challenge you, so...
00:17:10So what?
00:17:13So, I guess I'm challenging you.
00:17:14Go fuck yourself.
00:17:20Fists?
00:17:23Or knives?
00:17:26Well, I don't want to kill you.
00:17:28So, what, fists?
00:17:31Yeah?
00:17:32Yeah.
00:17:34It was a picnic.
00:17:35A big family picnic.
00:17:36All right.
00:17:37I remember because it was cold that day.
00:17:39The kids are running around,
00:17:40guys are getting stoned,
00:17:41wives and girlfriends all over the place,
00:17:42you know, and they cut a track out too.
00:17:46They'd spend all day drinking
00:17:47and running their backs on me
00:17:48and track all frickin' day long, you know?
00:17:50By the end of the day,
00:17:51the place was like one big mud pit,
00:17:52and that's where we did it.
00:18:05Cool.
00:18:12And the thing about Johnny,
00:18:13he wasn't always bigger than the other guys,
00:18:14but he was always meaner.
00:18:27You okay?
00:18:28You broke my damn finger.
00:18:29Hey, we done?
00:18:31Hey, you tell your friends in Milwaukee
00:18:32that they can have their chapter, all right?
00:18:33You tell them Johnny said so.
00:18:35All right.
00:18:36You all right?
00:18:39If you were gonna let him have a chapter,
00:18:40why'd you go through the trouble of fighting him?
00:18:42Anybody who's gonna have the idea
00:18:43is gonna be mean, eh?
00:18:44Now he knows it.
00:18:46You good?
00:18:47Yeah.
00:18:48After that, the club started growing.
00:18:49It got real big, real fast.
00:18:51Chapter started popping up
00:18:52all over the place, you know?
00:18:53Other clubs started asking to join up.
00:19:20Get the hell out of the street, kid!
00:19:39God damn it!
00:19:41What the hell did...
00:20:42Look at these pink old motherfuckers.
00:21:04These motherfuckers.
00:21:05That's like my brother.
00:21:06You know my brother?
00:21:07Me and my brother, we swing the same way.
00:21:11Only thing is, he's a pinko.
00:21:12There's something in his head is wrong, you know?
00:21:13But when he gets drunk, he's just like me.
00:21:14Otherwise, he thinks different.
00:21:15What do you mean by he's a pinko?
00:21:16Aren't you supposed to be taking pictures?
00:21:17Yeah.
00:21:18So what you got the microphone for all the time, then?
00:21:19I don't know.
00:21:20I was thinking I could record people talking, maybe.
00:21:21Use it with the pictures.
00:21:22Make a book or something, maybe.
00:21:23A book?
00:21:24Yeah, maybe.
00:21:25So what do you mean by he's a pinko?
00:21:26Pinko, I...
00:21:27You know, college boy.
00:21:28They wear tennis shoes and short pants.
00:21:29You know, shit like that.
00:21:30Uh-huh.
00:21:31That's what they do.
00:21:32All right?
00:21:33Yeah.
00:21:34Yeah.
00:21:35Yeah.
00:21:36Yeah.

00:22:22What do you do?
00:22:23I study photography, in college.
00:22:24Why did you scratch my bike?
00:22:25Huh.
00:22:26I didn't scratch your fucking scooter, man.
00:22:28When I walk off, there's no scratch.
00:22:30Listen you hear?
00:22:31No.
00:22:32No, no sudden, there's a scratch.
00:22:33Scratch.
00:22:34What's going on?
00:22:36I was looking at this guy's carburetors. He's got Jaguar carburetors, you know big Italian carburetors
00:22:40Oh, yeah, and now he says I scratched his back. Well, I didn't scratch that ancient piece of shit
00:22:45No, fuck you didn't you want to get salty motherfucker? I'll get salt
00:22:52We guys from
00:22:55Gary
00:22:56All right, you know what?
00:22:58You know guys around there called shitty Pete around it. Yeah, you rise with us sometimes. Oh

00:25:53Do the neighbors see it and this and that?
00:25:57I used to be respectable
00:26:01Kathy why do you think the guys they don't wear their colors when they're not all together?
00:26:04Why?
00:26:05Cuz they're afraid when they're all by themselves. There's too many people are after him for one thing
00:26:08You know too many people got a grudge against them
00:26:10So if they catch him one by one, I mean, that's what happened to Benny
00:26:12But he always wears colors and when he did wear his colors, he was by himself. That was trouble
00:26:15I mean you heard about all the trouble. He got in over at the Lake City
00:26:17That was it, but he was by himself. I wouldn't take his colors off for nobody and I was trouble you my brother

00:26:59No, I see my father Craig twice
00:27:01Yeah, all my life once when his father died and once when my mother almost died and I mean really cry, you know
00:27:06And I always believed him where's Benny?
00:27:08I've seen him getting worked over with blackjacks. I've seen him getting stitched up with no nothing, you know
00:27:13I mean, it's just like just like stitching him up while he's wide awake and everything else
00:27:15You don't see that guy shed a tear
00:27:17The closest I ever seen him come to it was that day. Hmm
00:27:20Not for the pain or nothing. No, you know what it was
00:27:26I

00:27:46he wasn't even supposed to be writing because his license had been suspended from that one time the cops chased him all over and
00:27:51No, no, no. No, I mean all he could think about was writing a stupid motorcycle
00:27:55I'll tell you, you know be funny if it wasn't so tragic
00:27:57What about Johnny?
00:28:00No, Johnny Johnny went crazy

00:30:49I think it terrified
00:30:53You know, that's a lot of power for one guy to have
00:30:55You know to be in charge of all that. I mean that can really mess with your noodle cream. No
00:31:04No, Benny was bad off
00:31:07So I had him in a motel for three weeks, I mean he couldn't walk so I got him a place with no stairs

00:41:01I don't know many fucking chapters. We got no we got
00:41:05No guys got young guys. No, I don't know some of them, but you guys I do know
00:41:09You know, they ain't gonna follow nobody except somebody from home
00:41:14Most fucked up
00:41:17Can't pay the fucking dudes. Yeah, we fucked it up
00:41:23You're growing up you got a house you got a job I don't want that I'll care about that
00:41:35That's why it's you
00:41:38You know all these nice easy on y'all trying to be you see
00:41:49Yes, you is
00:41:51Yeah, you know just think it over, you know
00:42:07Sonny you you right in California, right? You clubbed out there. Mm-hmm
00:42:12I came here for him. He didn't turn in his colors. We heard he was riding with another club
00:42:19So they brought me out here to fuck him up
00:42:23So, are you are you gonna fuck him up
00:42:30I
00:42:32Don't know
00:42:34I
00:42:36Don't know
00:42:38Are you gonna fuck him up
00:42:42Yeah, I like you guys I'm open to trip with you for a while
00:42:56Fuck happen here. Well, I think this is funny son. He just just made calcium his pants
00:43:08Fuck man
00:43:25The only thing is I thought I could change him, you know, oh
00:43:29Geez, I mean every woman thinks that she can change a guy not to her own ways
00:43:33But to be different, you know not to be different but to be I don't know like he's wild
00:43:37I thought he'd get over that but no
00:43:40But Benny he always talks about leaving
00:43:43Sometimes I wish he would you know, cuz every time he gets into trouble
00:43:45The first thing he'll say to me is well, I'm gonna leave and I think he just sees this to me
00:43:49So I say to him, you know, don't go don't go but it's getting aware
00:43:51If you just go not tell me about it, but just pick up and go it doesn't hurt so bad, you know
00:43:55I mean, I've got feelings cuz Benny has no feelings. I don't know where he gets it
00:43:59And what I hear even when his father died, he showed no feelings said he's better off dead
00:44:03I mean Benny thinks that when you die, you're better off then when you're living, you know
00:44:05Like when his dad died, he said it's just as well. It's better off that way. You know, Bruce. He got killed
00:44:10He's better off that way
00:44:11No feelings
00:44:13Bruce II I think ever since Bruce II died things at the club have changed, you know, don't you?
00:44:21Yeah, I miss Bruce
00:44:23I
00:44:32Mean that's how it is, you know, there's always that one
00:44:36There's always I want to get you. It's the one that comes out that one that comes out of nowhere
00:44:39That's the one that will get you see when it comes out of nowhere
00:44:45Hey Johnny, yeah, we just got a call but it's the funeral
00:44:53They won't take the flowers wait, they won't take the flowers you sent over there says the family don't want them
00:45:03Fuck it. Send them anyway, you know, they can eat them if they don't want to take them. Okay
00:45:08Wait get the guys together. Hey, we'll take him ourselves
00:45:23Oh

00:46:04Teddy singer died on the way back from the blessing on St. Christopher's Day. Yeah, he swerved and hit a car near the rock where
00:46:11the guy
00:46:13Which way that
00:46:15Beautiful knucklehead. Oh come nothing but wrong dad made special things for him because his dad was a was a tool and I make
00:46:25Everything that I um, I did offer his dad to buy the bike because you know, beautiful
00:46:31I offered him good money to nobody wouldn't he wouldn't
00:46:35He wouldn't sell it
00:46:38You see
00:46:40The one son
00:46:42Even write it
00:46:44He kept the white
00:46:46in his basement
00:46:48right
00:46:51Yes, then
00:46:53Yeah
00:46:57Yeah
00:47:06Let's fucking fuck it
00:47:23No, that's how I want to die, that's a fucking Louie my mother says to me
00:47:28She says well, you've had wrecks. You've seen people die. She's both the cousins now. I'm gonna kill you
00:47:33But that's that's the way I want to die. When I die, I'm gonna die in a bike
00:47:40Johnny
00:47:42He said yeah, he said you really want to talk to about joining up
00:47:45Oh
00:47:50No, no, we don't know we don't do kids we're gonna get them 20. Come on get out of here. Hey
00:47:57We just come with our bikes. We chop them ourselves. Okay?
00:48:04Come look at our bikes
00:48:16I'm gonna see these pieces of shit
00:48:27So we are we scrapped all the pieces ourselves, you know, we didn't have nothing but we did it, you know
00:48:32We did all the work
00:48:34There you go, what do you call yourselves the renegades
00:48:40We've been writing since we were kids
00:48:43We'll do whatever we got to do. All right, if you want us to rob someone we'll rob him
00:48:47You know if he wants to fight someone we'll kill him
00:48:49Well, we want to do we want to we want to ride me
00:48:53You want it's pretty bad, okay. Yeah
00:48:59I bet if I offer you that when it's all club you take it in a heartbeat. Hey

00:50:04What you left before things really got bad? I guess it was 69. So
00:50:10So yeah, I was done with school and I just packed and left for New York
00:50:14That's why I wanted to talk. I wanted to know what happened to the guys
00:50:16What happened to the club?
00:50:19You know a year or so after Bruce he died after you left things with the club really changed. I just got
00:50:24You know in the club it split it split between the old guys and the new guys between the beer drinkers and the pot smokers
00:50:30In those rules, it's just a bunch of made-up stuff, but these new guys really believe them. It's like a little written in stone or something
00:50:36There's a guy used to ride with us
00:50:38Took photos. He says he's uh, this is gonna make a book
00:50:42So I says then
00:50:44All I ever want is to be photographed dressed up like a barbarian like a real barbarian, you know with fur and an axe or some shit
00:50:59And I'm not happy
00:51:02So this guy's hassling me man, it's funny stop hogging the booze man
00:51:08I'm like
00:51:14Boy look at that dress. I bet I look good in that
00:51:24You got all these new guys, you know half of them coming back from Vietnam, they're the pot smokers and they're different these young ones
00:51:28You know, I'm just smoking pot sure, you know, but they do other stuff to grubs, you know, like hard stuff when they're crazy
00:51:43You hear what they did to cockroach
00:51:45What'd you say a motorcycle cop? I always wanted to be a motorcycle cop. That's why I gotta
00:51:52Give my colors back

00:57:07I'm Johnny said he took care of it. He said nothing happened. Well, that's not true. You weren't there
00:57:10You didn't see it. I mean you weren't there. I know I'm sorry you weren't there
00:57:14If they'd have got me up those stairs, I think I would have taken your gun and I would have popped my brains out

01:01:50He says once you go out with a guy from the Vandals
01:01:52He says you'll never go back to any other guy, you know

01:01:57No, you start thinking like them and acting like them. It changes you everybody was got more than a year
01:02:01Cuz that was 71, you know, that's when some kid showed up to challenge Johnny. I

01:04:57You know

01:05:30Nothing
01:05:38Take it easy Kathy you too, Johnny
01:05:53It was late October so it was already getting cold
01:05:56From what I hear some of the old vandals didn't even take their bikes
01:05:59They just said in their cars to watch
01:06:01Looking for law. What is it? Jared?
01:06:04Now you've lost when you go to work and you go to jail at night

01:07:04Motorcycles
01:07:08Hey after that this kid took over he turned the vandals into a proper game, you know
01:07:20The fuck we do now
01:07:24Nothing to do
01:07:29You
01:07:35Can't get even bigger
01:07:40When they got chapters all over the Midwest now even further, you know, I heard they started running drugs down from Canada
01:07:44No gambling prostitution, you name it
01:07:46I heard they even murder people
01:07:51No another clubs, you know, you think a funny sunny right coming from California that couldn't happen today

01:08:02I mean, well, some of the guys are still right with him, you know. Wahoo and Quirky, I think.

01:08:20Somebody told me Funny Sonny got paid five bucks to sit on his bike outside the movie theater to try to get people to watch Easy Raider.
01:08:25Woo! The whole thing is just ridiculous.
01:08:29Cockroach went back home, and can you believe this? He's a motorcycle cop now.
01:08:32Yeah, of all things.
01:08:34His uncle moved to Texas to work on a shrimp boat. It's the last I heard of him. I don't know.
01:08:41And what about Benny?
01:08:50Hey, Benny. You hear that?
01:08:55Hey.
01:09:00They just told me the leader of the vandals got killed. A guy named Johnny.
01:09:04Said some kid just walked up and shot him in a parking lot.
01:09:08Didn't you used to ride with that guy?
